Abstract

Violent behaviors conducted by children were unimaginable by our mind that we have set our mind that children are group of people who still innocent, and the hope for our future. Violence—in our mind—is perhaps the trait that labeled to some thugs, robbers, and many criminals whose world are full of violence they lived in. What is happening with our society and our children? Violence conducted by children can be seen as social behavior disturbance since there are violations to the moral values and humanity, family and society normative rules. Violent behavior—verbal and non verbal—including bad attitudes and behaviors that disturb many our environment are violation to what we call as society norms and laws. Children who conducted violent behavior were not a result of instant process but a cumulative result of many aspects they have seen, heard and felt in daily life. Aggression and anti social behavior are a learned behavior which means that children learned it from imitation process from something and someone who they meet, see, heard and copied.

Abstract

Preschool children—as we have known—have much potential which could be used as a basis to build up their character, either in family, school, and society. Their potential therefore needs to be nurtured to help them to achieve their potential to the fullest. But daily life nowadays—could bring negative impact on their development. The intensity of meaningful communication in daily conversation between children and their parents—was seen as a major obstacle on this process, which then becoming the main reason behind the unsuccessful learning of moral values, honesty, and manners. This condition then have negative impact on their character—as we have seen today—many children has emotional disturbance, violent, and shows an inappropriate behaviors.From this phenomenon, a couple effective approaches could be used to design an effective learning good program for their character development—which are knowing the good, reasoning the good, feeling the good, and acting the good. From this approaches point of view—altering their behavior and make good manners as habit were seen as the best approaches available, since altering behavior can be very effective way to develop their character and potential to the fullest. Their character behavior would also be affected by the daily basis learning and natural conditioning to make a good behavior as a habit.Character development for children in this case are including personal character which is an accumulation of goodness that will drive individuals to do the right thing, have a strong self consciousness on moral values, become a good member of society, ethical, knows which is right and wrong, and act consistently on Golden Rules. Aside from it, nationhood and citizenship characteristic is need to be developed too—where this trait is the accumulation of the personal goodness and set of moral and culture values such as an obedience to the state authority, laws, responsibility, fairness and active participation on public affairs.

Abstract

Parents are seen as role model and important figures in family whom responsible to teach and facilitate a suitable education model for their children. Children need many information and knowledge that would help them to solve all problems the face in their life. Pre adolescence children, especially young teenage girl in this case would need an appropriate sex education to help help them pass through their problems and social interaction life. This information was best given to them by mothers since children would felt safer with same sex beside this also could give other diversion about sexuality values adopted in society. Aside from it, there also a condition that many mothers felt that sex education was taboo and it was also caused by little information and knowledge those mothers had. At this point, mother’s perception and parent’s personal feeling have constructed a negative set of mind towards sex educationFrom this phenomenon, this research was conducted to analyze the correlation between mother’s attitude towards sex education with information given and taught by them for young teenage girl between the age 10-12 years old. The datas gathered for this research were taken from sample of young teenage girls’ mothers living at community housing complex in Tasikmalaya. The methods used in this research is correlational model which was used to analyze variables that caused the phenomenon and also try to find out the relationship between one variabel with another.In this case study, we have made a specific assumptions to formulize a hypothese which then were tested to acquire a valid and reliable data from raw data using Spearman Rank’s statistical analysis since both variables were ordinal and have a significancy level of 5 percent. Statistic analysis conducted in this research then resulted in correlation coefficient of 0,424 with an error margin of 0,003—which means that the hypothese is accepted. A brief conclusion that can be taken from this research is that parent’s (mothers) educational background have great influence on their attitude toward sex education—which is—the higher the education those mothers had, the more positive they felt toward sex education.

Abstract

Students whom felt that school environment was conducive and according to his/her needs and motivation will have positive image and perception towards their school. This positive perception could be seen that students felt that schooling environment will have full support for their learning progress while following all academic and learning activities at their school have major impact on their progress also—both of which would given great contribution on their participation in learning activities—while also helped them to be more focused and more disciplined. An implementation of fairness on rules, award and punishment were also contributed to the feeling that students felt that they were also part of their school and increasing their sense of belongings to their community—which then would lead and motivate them more to achieve higher achievement both inside and outside of school environment.Sample population in this research are students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Sarongge which consisted of 70 students—which would then made this research as a population research since in this case the research was conducted on a large scope of areas with all the subjects were made as samples. Statistic technique used in this research to manipulate and process data acquired from data gathering is a Spearman Rank’s Correlation. As from this research concluded, we could see that there is a 0.535 correlation between students perception towards schooling environment with learning motivation. Furthermore, we could also find out a positive correlation between academic emphasize aspect and expectation of success with learning motivation—which means that the higher perception those students had, the higher learning motivation built up inside them which would then resulted in higher expectation of success both from school authority and themselves.

Abstract

Development is a set continuous progressive changes, systematic and accumulative. Progressive means that changes have a forward orientation, while systematic and continuous mean that all development’s stage are related and cannot be separated from other phases. Traditionally human life development can be considered as a curved line, where those process generated very fast in prenatal, infant, and adolescence. This curved line would then step onto plateau which describes a stabil condition in adulthood and degrades when people aged. Developmental point of view in councelling—in this case—were focused on individuals potential development including intellectual aspect, affective, social, emotional and religiousity aspect—thus, those individual will develop themselves to a higher level of development.

Abstract

Giftedness and discipline are important basic foundation for children to prepare their future. Thus, the development of giftedness and altering behavior with self disciplined regulation needs to be counted for by parents and teachers. Focusing on nurturing giftedness was considered important that children can prepare themselves to be professional individuals who know their strengths and weaknesses to face all aspects in life. In the other hand, discipline and self regulatory were set to prepare those children to have responsibilities and professional ethos both at work life and in personal life. Parents and teacher in this case need to provide time and design a systematic plan to develop their potential. An effective model for this purpose is a giftedness development and self regulatory training which were designed according to the principal of children’s development.

Abstract

In adolescence, conformity aspect in a peer group was one of important aspect in their social life since adolescences need safety and acceptability feeling from their peer group much more than other age group. Teenagers have conformity for their peer group and tend to accept and follow rules and standards adopted by their peer group including changing perception, opinion, behaviors and their attitudes to become more ”acceptable” by their friend in a group.Many teenagers have strong bond with their friends and tend to behave inappropriately with rules and values in society. Indisciplinary behavior conducted at school showed a correlation with their peer group which can be seen from their ”breaking rules” attitudes such as, smoking in the class, inapproapriate clothing, not doing their homework and Research methods used in this research is a correlational model and using Marvin Shaw’s group conformity scale and student’s disciplinary scale from Ausubel. SPSS 11.5 were then used to test the validity and reliability of those two measurement methods. Spearman rank correlation technique dan were used to analyze data taken from 129 students of Grade II SMU YKM Tanjungsari. Statistical analysis conducted in this research was given the result of -0,673 whilst by using testing criterion with significany 5 percent would then concluded that the research hypothese is acceptable.Brief conclusion from this research was given a result that there is a negative relations between conformity toward the peer group with indisciplinary behavior conducted by Grade II students at SMU YKM Tanjungsari.

Abstract

Adolescents—or we could call them the young generation—were a group whose very vulnerable to imitate aggressive behaviors such as fights, hostility, thievery, murder and other crimes. Santri—in this case—were also the same with other teenager from the same age group. The background of each santri before entering the dormitory in Islamic boarding school could cause a conflict between one santri with another when they interact with each other. This aggressive behavior could be much more damaging when santri tend to disobey religious norms and laws both while they are inside or outside of their school. Self consciousness in implementation of religions teaching in this case was seen as an important aspect that needs to be implanted by santri as a way of their life so they can realize and avoiding negative and inappropriate behavior in daily life. A deep understanding of social norms in the other hand must be taught to santri so they can adapt with their environment and society and furthermore they can defend themselves from any bad influence which would come to their life.This research concluded that there is a significance and correlation between religious self consciousness with Santri’s aggressive behavior as were written and published in many theories.

Abstract

This journal was made to describe a real condition of family’s affair and all aspects within family life, how to solve family business and discussing hints and strategies to create a sakinah’s family (harmonic family). Adults—in this article—were the subject and are seen as individuals that prepare themselves to step onto marriage life—which would then all fundamental aspects of marriage life and family business must be learned by adults so they can manage their family and marriage life.An ideal family was built upon consensus of vision and basis of knowledge and not just following emotional pressure and lust. Everything has its own way, either in techniques and strategies to implement all ideal theories in real life. A family which has clear vision and orientation of how to solve all family business can make an ideal roadmap regarding family education for its member; they would also can preserve and teach a meaningful moral values, social, tradition and religious values accordingly.

Abstract

Future orientation on education could be called as a goal; target, plan and strategy dreamed and strived by individual to achieve. One of many strategies could be used by student to make those dreams of their future on education to become true is to have self regulation in learning style and methods. In this research we can find out that future orientation on education has a significant positive correlation with self learning regulations.
