Abstract

Children, like adults are also have their own problems in life. Nowadays, we also know that lacks of self confidence not just for adult only, children are also have the same problem. It is also encouraged by their undeveloped ability both mentally and physically. Independency is also one of many problems that must be faced by children especially children with mental disorder or mental retardation. This phenomena then become a basis for this research—that is emphasizes on children development stimulation. It was also considered that pre-natal condition is also has influence over children’s  development after they born. This paper is then pre-describe developmental stage of children at their golden age, with developmental tasks and crisis that come along within every stages. Stimulation to encourage children’s development would also be discussed in this  paper with hopes that many people could then take any profit from this paper and optimizing their effort in raising and teaching their children.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to assess (1) descriptive about the students’ emotional intelligence, their perception towards democratic parenting  model and the teacher’s democratic leadership style; (2) the correlation between the democratic parenting model with the emotional intelligence; (3) the teachers’ democratic leadership style with emotional intelligence, and 4) the correlation between the democratic parenting model and the teachers’ democratic leadership style with the emotional intelligence. The sample consisted  of 182 student of  SMA Negeri  2 Watampone, academic year 2007-2008, selected bay way of proporsional random sampling. The questionnaires to collect the data was designed to assess the perception about the democratic parenting by parents, the teachers’ democratic leadership style, and the emotional intelligence. The data were analyzed by employing the Simple Regression analysis technique for hypotesis one and two, and Multiple Regression for hypotesis three. The results of the correlation indicated (1) there was a significant correlation between emotional intelligence with the perception of democratic parenting model, (2) the emotional intelligence is significantly correlated with the perception obout the teacers’ democratic leadership style and (3) there was a significant correlation between the  perception obout the democratic parenting model and the perception obout the teachers’ democratic leadership style with emotional intelligence. The two predictors provided an effective contribution at 46 percent against the variation of criteria emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Psychological testing in high school, university and assessment of new employee were used in order to ease stakeholder for sorting and placement purpose. These tests generally include intellectual capability, personality test and performance test. There are numerous tests that can be used for this purpose and some of them quite popular among many assessor such as IST-70 and WPT. However it is known that the intelligence score as result from IST-70 and WPT were quite different. IQ score from WPT generally resulted 1-5 point lower from IST. The question now is which is from both test that considered as a valid result? This research was conducted in purpose of gathering empirical data regarding s-factor and g-factor in IST, correlation element between WPT and IST, and last differences between both tests. Thus, this research can be considered as correlation research. The assumption used in this research are (1) correlation between subtest in IST, (2) subtest in IST with WPT;(3) IQ score result with WPT and IST; and (4) differences between of IQ score resulted by WPT and IST. It was then concluded that IST measure s-factor and g-factor while WPT only measure g-factor.

Abstract

This study will specifically investigate the personal factors of students, whether they are biographic, or suspected psychological effect on the success of studies in the faculty of Psychology. Demographic factors such as intelligence level factors, whether the school background of high school, vocational school, or MA, and majors of time in SMU / SMK / MA. These factors are investigated for allegedly influence the success of the study. If proven, empirically, the results of this study expected to be a consideration in the selection of new students of psychology faculty UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. During this selection system seems not yet to consider these factors. In fact, psychological test results of students' 2007-2008 force distribution of the IQ level of students was very varied between 78 to 115 points. Not much different school backgrounds and majors. The design of this study applying correlational design, multiple regression. With multiple regression, it is possible to forecast a variable based on the values of some predictors. The assumption by using several predictors will make more accurate predictions. In addition, with multiple regression is statistically possible to measure the influence of several predictor variables to control the other predictor variables (Blaikie, 2003). Research data, including: (1) The primary data is data related to emotional intelligence and social support, and (2) secondary data id data relating to the level of intelligence. Secondary data were obtained from laboratory psycho-tests held by the faculty of Psychology UIN SGD Bandung and the data contained in the faculty of Psychology UIN SGD Bandung. Results of data analysis shows that the correlation coefficient of the three independent variables with dependent variables for 0409 with a value of R2 of 0167. It shows that 16.7 percent of the variation of study success is determined by emotional intelligence, social support, and level of intelligence. Level intelligence backgrounds of students majoring in natural science majors were higher than social science or language. Meanwhile, 83.3 percent more determined by other variables.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe and analyze the degree of patience among Padjajaran University Communication student class of 2005 with GPA of 2.75 minimum, is problematic when finishing thesis viewed from the perspective of Qur’an and Hadith. The concept of patient has a dimension related to the firm on the establishment, determination and perseverance which is elaborated in the indicators contained related matters which is in line with the Psychological concept, such as: in the form of behavioral consequent, consistent, endurance, fighting spirit, the existence of stress tolerance, openness to the feedback, also having an anticipatory planning. Therefore measuring instrument is constructed based on the lattice. The samples were 10 people taken in incidental population of 21 students which is still problematic in the completion of their thesis. Results showed that most of the students who studied in general in fact possess sufficient degree of patience on that level when they face various obstacles, which are supported by its firm commitment to the establishment and resilient. However, in the aspect of perseverance, they generally have very low levels. From this description it can be concluded that even if they are problematic but they are still consistent and ready to accept the consequences of all the risks in formulating thesis is accompanied by resistance to continue with his willingness to receive feedback. However, they are problematic in making a thorough planning and anticipation so that when faced with obstacles, they were not ready to handle it. These weaknesses, if it is related to the concept of psychology, are closely related to the weakness of students' ability in self-regulation when preparingtheir thesis.

Abstract

One of many ways of conceiving individual personality is by observing and analyzing his or her behavior. Bandura said that we need to know how people interact with the world around them. Sometimes any actions and his or her interaction with environment can be contrary to values that holds by their society. However—Bandura was also point out and human behavior can be predicted and modified by altering their behavior through learning. This learning processes must also considering the capacity of each person according to each own ability to think and how they interact with their surrounding environment. Based on social learning theory, behavior can be altered and modified through modeling, which is used to shape and molding a new behavior that can be approved by society and eliminating any unwanted behavior. Basic principle from this modeling is a goal that client can create, shape and mold new behavior through imitation or copying someone else’s behavior or people that become a model figure for them.

Abstract

Since many centuries ago, psychological factors were considered as an important aspect in treatment of many disease that incurred on human life. Body and mind relation are a very interesting object study for many centuries for many people. Polemics, researches and opinions were aroused time to time—either about its own existence, function and dichotomy between physical and psychological nature of human being. This research emphasizes on dichotomy of physical and psychological nature of human which then resulted in many problems both physical and psychological. In this paper we try to describe some medical disease that occurred in many situations and considered—generally—caused by psychological aspect, including case example, prevention methods, treatment and many other.

Abstract

Moral values and it’s decadence were one of many problems that in Indonesia, whereas becoming a huge responsibility that hold by all member of society. The inquiry, designing and implementation of moral education strategy is foreseen as the most important aspect to improve society. Aside from great efforts to improve society, it is imperative that we also need to review and inquire more about moral development theory. Nowadays, it seems that moral development theory had moved from its role and position which moved from its autonomic, rationalistic and universalistic nature to more emotionally roles and becoming more culture bounded. The changes in society paradigm were also have many implications on education of moral development. In this paper there are at least 3 models that can be used in moral education, which are the learning of rule ethics, character ethics and the integration of both in multidimensional fields.

Abstract

Psychology is the science of human and animal behavior. It is also intended to get a clear description of any evidence or behavior of any population. For example,we want to know the correlation of teenagers’ intelligence and their creativity. It is an example of such case that can be described and measured by using some indicators.Measurement in psychology is very important because it is not only an art but also a science. As science it is empirical. It is of course relies on experiment and observation, rather than argument, opinion or belief.Moreover, Morgan (1961) said that the progress of in science often depends upon the development of quantitative methods. Without such methods,science is limited to crude observation and classification. By using them we are able to refine data-based conclusions.There are so many kinds of measurement that can be used in psychological field, such as test, personality inventory,attitude scale,etc. There are some important aspect that should be noted in measurement, such as reliability and validity.

Abstract

Based on phenomena in grade 8 students in Mts. AdDa’wa Bekasi, there are few students that tend to draw themselves from interpersonal relation with students at their age outside their peer group. Many question then arise, if there were any significant reason and its correlation between their self concept and social competency. The method used for this research is a correlation model with sample population of 80 subject participant. The data required for this research then gathered with questionnaire and were measured with self concept measurement test TSCB (Tennessee Self Concept Scale) from William H. Fist. Other measurement test were then created based on Krasnor Theory to measure social competency from those students. After data have been collected with we have a correlation point rs=0,598 with  thit = 6,59 > ttab =1,980 which means that H1 is approved and H0 is denied. According to result of this research, it was concluded that the assumption were proved true that there is positive relation between self concept and social competency in grade 8 students from Mts. AdDa’wa Bekasi.
