Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the potentials of the leading sector and to formulate policy priorities for regional economic development in Maluku Province. The research methodology used in this research is Location Quotient (LQ), Growth Ratio Model (MRP) and Overlay analysis. The result of the research shows that in Maluku Province there are 8 economic categories that have basic sector namely agriculture, forestry and fishery category; categories of water supply, waste management and recycling; major trade-retail and auto-motorcycle repair categories; categories of transportation and warehousing; government administration, defense and compulsory social security schemes; categories of education services; categories of health services and social activities; and other service categories. The result of growth ratio (MRP) shows that the sector with the highest average regional growth rate (RPs) in Maluku province is mining and quarrying sector. Furthermore, overlay analysis shows that the sectors of government administration, defense, compulsory social security and large and retail trade; car and motorcycle repairs

Abstract

Housing is a basic human need that must be obtained, in addition to the need for food and clothing. As the growing population and the number of household increases, it will lead to an increase in the need for new housings that continue to increase from year to year. The research focused on analysis the macroeconomic factors such as the market price of the property and real estate in Indonesia (IHPR), loan interest rate, and households in effect on the housing demand during the years 2007-2016. This study uses the secondary data from Bank Indonesia and Badan Pusat Statistik and analyzed using Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The result showed that IHPR has negative and significant effect on housing demand and the number of household has positive and significant effect on housing demand in D.I. Yogyakarta. While interest rate on loan has no effect on housing demand in D.I. Yogyakarta

Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze the level of technical efficiency and identify some factors that influence it and also solutions necessary to conduct to improve the efficiency of BUMD of production service field in Central Java Province. The analysis method used a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) by a frontier analysis approach. The BUMN analysis unit of production service field was in Central Java. Variables used were input variables (capital deposited, total expenses and employee numbers) and output variables (income, profit before tax and dividend realization). Data used was a secondary data of BUMD of production service field periods 2011-2016. The research objects covered PD. CMJT, PT. SPJT, PT. SPHC, PDAB TU and PT. PRPP. The research results showed that out of five BUMDs of production service field in Central Java Province, there were two inefficient BUMDs include PDAB TU and PT. PRPP. PDAB TU was not efficient in 2012, 2013 and 2016, while PT. PRPP was not efficient during 2011-2016. Three out of five BUMDs namely PD. CMJT, PT. SPJT and PT. SPHC achieved efficiency of 100% during research period. The BUMDs inefficiency occurred due to combining unsuitable input variable magnitude so that needed to conduct adjustment of input factor magnitude in yielding output efficiently 100%. It could be concluded that there is a trend of efficiency in BUMD of production service field every year and there are two inefficient BUMDs. The BUMD inefficiency was caused by combining disproportional input factor magnitude. It was suggested the two inefficient BUMDs should adjust input factor value magnitude in achieving output efficiently 100%

The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from the World Bank 2000-2016. The analysis used is regression analysis using Error Corection Model (ECM) Method. Tests used in the model are Stationarity Test, R-Square Test, F Test and T Test. The result of this research is that long term, export variable and exchange rate influence to economic growth while import does not have an effect on to economic growth. In the short run, export and import variables affect economic growth, while exchange rates have no effect on economic growth

Abstract

This study analyzes the contribution of human capital ie education and health to regional economic growth in Indonesia. This study uses the regional level of the province as the unit of analysis with the timeframe from 2004 to 2014. Development of economic growth model which is a dynamic model becomes a challenge for estimation of regression model, this study uses generalized method of moment (GMM) as an analytical tool to overcome bias Which occurred on the model of economic growth. This study provides empirical evidence on the role of education and health to regional economic growth in Indonesia. In addition, the estimation results also provide empirical results of conditional convergence with the contribution of human capital that is education and health as a determinant of convergence

Abstract

The performance of financial statements shows the level of productivity in a company. Specific to banking sector, the performance of its financial statements can be analyzed from Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA). This study analyzes MVA and EVA are of state-owned banks consisting of Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Bank Mandiri and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI). The results convey that Indonesia’s state-owned banks in giving share return to theirs shareholders are not influenced by Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA). There is an evidence that, EVA and MVA do not give any effect to share return because in the state owned bank in Indonesia, the investors have been very confident about the performance of banks in Indonesia so that without seeing the performance of the financial statements of investors have been very convinced from the fundamental point that the Indonesia state owned banks can bring benefits to investors

Abstract

Conceptually, there are many views in viewing the concept of poverty. So the issues may include social, economic, cultural and even political aspects. In spatial aspect, National Statistics Bureau (BPS) has also made distinctions between rural and urban poverty since 1999. This variance sometimes makes it difficult for undergraduate researchers to conduct an assessment of this issue. Therefore, this article attempts to analyze and strive to understand the character of urban poverty by using fourteen measures used by BPS. Fourteen indicators were then tested in the field using survey and observation methods. The results of the survey and observation are discussed further in this article
