Abstract

This study aims to elevate motivation to learn social studies of fourth grade students of SDNegeri I Tempursari Klaten, academic year 2013/2014. This research is a classroom actionresearch. The subjects in this study were the teacher and fourth grade students. The datacollection techniques used are observation, testing, and documentation. The data analysistechnique used is interactive qualitative analysis through three stages, i.e. data reduction,data exposure and conclusion construction. The results showed that there is an increase instudents’ motivation at the second cycle that reaches 80 % of the initial condition, 33.33 %. It is evident that the number of students who are 1) enthusiastic students in participatinglearning social studies reached 80% of total students; 2) active in the learning process reached80%; 3) working diligently in the testing was 86.67%; 4) able to create a conducive learningenvironment reached 80%; 5) able to work on the problems well reached 86.67 %. Therefore,it can be concluded from this study that the learning strategy, everyone is a teacherhere, can increase the students’ motivation in learning social study.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study aims to describe how the perceptual response of teachersof English in primary schools towards the government policy related to the implementationof English subjects in elementary school. Population of this research is Englishteachers at the elementary school in Surakarta and takes a sample of English teachersfrom primary schools in partnership with UMS PGSD as many as 20 teachers ofEnglish. Methods of data collection in this study using observations, interviews anddocumentation, and analysis with interactive analysis. In this research, the elementaryteachers as research respondents divided into two groups of teachers who have educationalbackgrounds of English and non-English language. These two groups, dividedinto four categories. The first category are teachers who have a background in Englisheducation with teaching experience less than or equal to ten years. The second categoryare teachers with educational background in English with teaching experience morethan ten years. The third categoryare teachers with backgrounds non English with teachingexperience less than ten years. The fourth category are teachers with backgroundsnon English with teaching experience more than ten years. The findings found in perceptualresponse from the four categories of teachers, show that basically they comprehendthat the implementation of English subjects in elementary school is very importantdue to many reasons. The teachers agree toward the implementation of Englishsubject at elementary school as long as it is conducted seriously and in a professionalways rather than as a additional curriculum.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the enhancement of interest and learningoutcomes of students in learning science through the Square Word strategy . This researchis Classroom Action Research ( CAR ). Teacher is as the subject of the perpetratorand the student is as the recipient of actions. Techniques of data collection are usingobservation techniques, interviews, test, and documentation. Technical analysis of thedata is using interactive analysis technique that consists of data reduction, data display,and conclusions. The results of this study showed an increase in interest and learningoutcomes of students in learning science. It can be seen from the indicators of achievementof learning interest include: participation, attention, and pleasure in learning activities.The percentage of participating students’ interest in learning activities increasedfrom 39.53 % to 86.04 %.. Students who are concerned in learning activities in the precycle of 34.88 %, increasing to 83.71 % in the second cycle . While students are happy inlearning activities in pre-cycle by 30.23 % increased to 81.39 % in the second cycle.Student learning outcomes also increased, prior to the act the learning outcomes is asmuch 37.20 % and increased to 81.39 % in the second cycle . This study suggests thatthe implementation of Square Word Strategy can increase the interest and learning inscience teaching at fifth grade students of SD Negeri 03 Jetis District of CorkKaranganyar Academic Year 2013/2014 .

Abstract

The utilization existence of the library as a resource center for students in elementaryschool is a necessity that needs to be examined. Although the school does not have thepersonnel in charge of taking care of a special library, but it can be handled by a designatedteacher under the control of the principal to optimize he library utilization. Theeffectiveness of implementation will have an impact on the growth of like reading in theschool library for students on one hand also creativity of teachers in using library as alearning resource for certain theme, so that students want to come or use to the schoollibrary. There is a prediction that the utilization of school library is able to increase thestudent achievement.

Abstract

National education serves to develop skills and form the character and civilization ofdignity in the context of the intellectual life of the nation, aimed at developing thepotential of students to become a man of faith and fear to Allah the Lord, noble, healthy,knowledgeable, skilled, creative, independent, and become citizens of a democratic andresponsible ( Education Law , Article 3 ). This means that the education at primaryschool level should refer to the planting of monotheism in order to achieve educationalgoals fully. The purpose of this study to determine the level of implementation of monotheismin the first grade SDIT Ar -Risalah Kartasura. This research is qualitative research.The data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation.This qualitative descriptive data analysis technique emphasize on deductive andinductive inference .The results showed that the content of Tauhid on SDIT Ar-RisalahKartasura are summarized in Aqidah Morals compiled based on salafusshalih which issourced from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Application of monotheism in the learning educationat the first grade conducted with a variety of visual images method , and Shirohstory ( history ). Evaluation of learning is done with the test methods and non test , andcomplies with the assessment standards based on the achievement of the indicators thathave been formulated , including cognitive, affective , and psychomotor

Abstract

True teacher, the substance is a true example of a teacher, tireless , hard work, struggleand sacrifice for the success of his students. Teachers have a minimum three main tasks,namely: (1) professional duties, (2) human duty, and (3) civic duties. Furthermore, withregard to who the true teacher? There are five important things attached as a trueteacher, namely: (1) the teachers are second parents, (2) the teacher is a motivator, (3)the teacher is the adventurous, (4) teacher, liberator and fighters, and (5) teacher, personalprophetic spirit. To be able to be a true teacher, five elements must be attached,namely: (1) responsibility , not a privilege, (2) the sacrifice, not the facility, (3) Workhard , not relaxed; (4) Authority, not authoritarian, and (5) Modeling. True teacher isfully teachers in goodness, not tempted by the glitter of the world. If teachers are temptedby the glitter of the world, they will ruin their students and even society. Hope all thechildren of this nation remains a good teacher or professional teachers who meet thecompetency of personality, pedagogic, social, and professional as well as the Holy Prophet(Siddeeq, trustworthy, sermons, and fathonah). They Eventually bring success for theglory of Indonesian education.

Abstract

Primary Schools aims to form the younger generation who have morals, values andcharacter that tends to be a productive, creative, innovative, and affective . Elementaryschool teachers are one of the key success in shaping the next generation thereforeelementary school teachers must have the professional ability, attitude and personality.University Achmad Yani Banjarmasin as one of the colleges that will generate prospectiveelementary teachers has to make efforts so that the demands of the professionalneeds of elementary school teachers in the community can be met. Teacher professionalmust have pedagogical, social competence, professional competence, and personalitycompetence. Several efforts should be made starting from the right curriculum, condusivelearning process, quality of faculty, and building positive character of the student. Basedon preliminary observations, primary education students come from many levels. Besides,they have a variety of purposes and reasons for studying. Abstract

This study aims to increase the motivation to learn mathematics through the learningstrategy Think-Talk-Write (TTW) fifth grade students of Muhammadiyah Ngasem MI.Subjects were teachers and students of class V. The object of research is learning motivationand learning strategies Think-Talk-Write (TTW). The research process was conductedin two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. Each cycle consists of four stages,namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques usedthrough observation, tests, interviews and documentation. Instrument used in this study isthe observation sheet, guidance interviews, tests, assessment guidance document data.Data analysis technique used consists of three components, namely: data reduction, datadisplay, and conclusion. Test the validity of using triangulation and triangulation methods.Indicators of success is the achievement of 75% on each of the indicators. The resultsshowed an increase in motivation to learn mathematics. 1) the readiness of students tofollow the learning cycle I II 67.2% 80.4% cycle 2) activity of students in a discussion witha friend the first cycle II 65.2% 82.6% cycle 3) the ability of students working on the firstcycle 58.7% second cycle 84.8% 4) the courage to ask questions first cycle 50% cycle II79.2%. The conclusion of this research is the application of learning strategies Think-Talk-Write (TTW) can increase students’ motivation to learn mathematics class V MIMuhammadiyah Ngasem Colomadu District of Academic Year 2013/2014.

Abstract

The study aims to understand the students’ learning motivation at Class V of the Indonesiancourse by applying a Cooperative Script strategy with comic media. It was aclass action research. The population included all the 17 students of the Class V at SDNegeri II Gedong Primary School. It consisted of two cycles. The data collection employedobservation and documentation. The technique of data analysis used a qualitativemethod with an interactive model, including data reduction, display data, and conclusion.The indicators were summarizing, listening, speaking, and expressing opinions.The class action research would be said to be successful if it met 80% of the indicatorsand 80% of the students achieved the KKM. The results of the study were summarizingat the early condition of 90.98%, cycle I of 74.51%, cycle II of 88.24%; listening at theearly condition of 50.98%, cycle I of 72.54%, cycle II of 90.20%; speaking at the earlycondition of 45.09%, cycle I of 64.71%, cycle II of 80.39%; and giving opinions at theearly condition of 43.20%, cycle I at 49.02%, cycle II of 80.39%. At the early condition,the students who achieved the KKM amounted to 9 people, at cycle I of 11 students, andat cycle II of 17 students (or 100%). At the cycle II, the students’ motivation had achievedthe indicators. It could be concluded that applying a cooperative script strategy withcomic media could increase the students’ Indonesian course.

Abstract

The aim of this study include: a) describe the character of learning Indonesian, active,and fun in SD Muhammadiyah Surakarta 1, b) describe a method of learning Indonesiancharacter, active, and fun in SD Muhammadiyah Surakarta 10, and c) describeobstacles encountered in the implementation of learning Indonesian character, active,and fun in SD Muhammadiyah Surakarta 10. This research is a qualitative descriptivestudy. The strategy used is a single case study. The main data source of this research:teacher and fourth grade students in 10 elementary Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Severaldata collection techniques: direct observation plays a passive, in-depth interviews,open and informal nature, giving questionnaires (open questionnaire). Implementationof learning character, active, and fun on Indonesian subjects in fourth grade SurakartaMuhammadiyah 10 can be observed from the three activities, namely: planning learning,learning implementation, and evaluation of learning. Learning plan has been availablesyllabi and lesson plans, instructional implementation has accordance RPP but lessvariable in the application of the method, and the evaluation of teacher learning hasdeveloped rubrics and assessment in the lesson plan format. Constraints faced to implementthe learning of character, active, and fun on Indonesian subjects in fourth gradeSurakarta Muhammadiyah 10, among others: the constraints of the school, teachers,and students.
