Abstract

Energy consumption has become a significant issue in businesses. It is known that the industrial sector has consumed nearly half of the world's total energy consumption in some cases. This research aims to propose the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) algorithm to minimize energy consumption in the No Idle Permutations Flowshop Problem (NIPFP). The GWO algorithm has four phases: initial population initialization, implementation of the Large Rank Value (LRV), grey wolf exploration, and exploitation. To determine the level of machine energy consumption, this study uses three different speed levels. To investigate this problem, 9 cases were used. The experiments show that it produces a massive amount of energy when a job is processed fast. Energy consumption is lower when machining at a slower speed. The performance of the GWO algorithm has been compared to that of the Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm in several experiments. In tests, the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) outperforms the Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm.

Abstract

This study focuses on measuring the productivity of PT.X, especially the welding and painting unit, based on the total realization of production, several employees, working hours, overtime hours, and lost hours of employees. The purpose of this study is to propose a strategy for improving the productivity ratio of the welding and painting unit, which is still below the standard by setting performance criteria standards. The method used is the objective matrix (OMAX) and root cause analysis (RCA) which is carried out using six ratios of productivity measurement and looking for the root cause of the ratio at a level below the standard. The results show that three ratios are still below the standard of the six productivity measurement ratios, such as ratios 2, 3, and 5. These ratios need to be improved by increasing the realization of production results, reducing the number of absent workers, and reducing the total working hours of employees every month. Based on the study results, improvements in the three ratios were able to increase the productivity index of PT.X's welding and painting units.

Abstract

West Java Province is one of the provinces with the most flood disasters, which is 863 times and the highest number of floods occurred in Kabupaten Bandung is 228 times. Because floods often occur in Kabupaten Bandung make BPBD (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah) must respond to this problem, including by choosing a quick evacuation location. Choosing an appropriate evacuation route is very helpful in reducing losses and especially saving people's lives. So we need a computer-based system that can help BPBD in determining which location is most suitable as an evacuation location in Kabupaten Bandung by using the SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) method. This method is a simple weighting method or additional weighting to solve problems in a decision support system. The results of this study are a rank of recommendations for evacuation locations in Kabupaten Bandung. To test the feasibility and suitability of the system, a BlackBox test and user acceptance test was carried out.

Abstract

The Two-Stage Transportation Problem (TSTP) is a model of product transportation in the supply chain. The transportation starts from the factory to customers through a distribution center (DC), which considers the fixed cost of opening a DC, the transportation cost per unit from a certain factory to a certain DC, and the transportation cost per unit from a certain DC to certain customers. This study develops a model by allowing direct delivery from the factory to the customer. From the numerical example given, the proposed model that allows direct delivery from the factory to a customer could result in a total distribution cost that is minimized to the initial model. Both models were compared with calculation using Lingo 19.0. The model developed is expected to provide options and consideration for the management to determine the right distribution and logistics strategy for their products.

Abstract

The problem that is often experienced in the delivery of goods from distributor to the destination is the delivery route that is not sufficient with the vehicle's capacity. This matter is crucial because it can affect the clients' trust on the shippers in the distributor. This problem can be analyzed using Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) with Clarke and Wright Algorithm. This research begins with determining the distance between all coordinates with Euclidean Distance, making the distance matrix between places to go. After that, the calculation CVRP using Clarke and Wright Algorithm is exected in this study, a calculate CVRP using Clarke and Wright algorithm can help of Python. The study was conducted at 16 customers coordinates, the results obtained by 4 routes with total load 4751 kg and distance 436 km. Route of delivery the first route 924 kg load and distance 80 km, second route 962 kg load and distance 112 km, third route 1450 kg load and distance 144 km, and the fourth route 1415 kg load and distance 100 km.

Abstract

The implementation of practicum chair assembly training in PPTI 2 still uses conventional method training. The use of conventional methods has some drawbacks including high resource requirements when starting out and requires an experienced coach who should always be there whenever there is training. The use of conventional methods in the training of practicum chair assembly is considered less effective. There needs to be other alternatives in practicum chair assembly training. The alternative chosen is training using Virtual reality (VR).  This paper contains a comparison between training using conventional methods and using virtual reality. That proves training uses VR more effectively than training with conventional methods.

Abstract

The manual material handling (MMH) activity of making bricks causes workers to use energy throughout their body to do work so that it can pose a potential ergonomic hazard. Ergonomics hazards caused are fatigue in the muscles due to repetitive movements, poor work posture, too heavy load, inadequate tools, unsupportive environmental conditions. Complaints of Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) that accumulate will have a major impact on bone structure disorders and muscle disorders. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ergonomic risks and complaints of MSDs in MMH activities using a trolley. The research method used is the risk assessment of pushing and pulling (RAPP) tool and Nordic body map (NBM). The RAPP Tool consists of 9 assessments with a rating scale of good, reasonable, poor and unacceptable. Furthermore, using the NBM which mapped 28 body parts with a rating scale of no pain, moderately ill, sick and very sick. The results of the study contained 3 assessments of the RAPP Tool with the highest score, including floor surface, posture, and condition of the tool. The results of the NBM found that the body parts that often felt complaints were the back, waist, buttocks, left knee, right knee, left leg and right leg. The conclusion is that workers with high RAPP scores have an impact on high levels of muscle complaints so that improvements need to be made immediately to reduce ergonomic risks to workers.

Abstract

The Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) plays an important role in the logistics transportation sector. Determining the proper route will reduce the company's operational costs. In CVRP, a number of vehicles have a capacity limit that can serve all customers. This research completes a real case study on a bottled drinking water company where the company still uses the subjective method of the driver to determine the transportation route. Based on the conditions in the company, the selection of the best route will consider vehicle capacity and demand to determine the shortest route. The execution of this case study uses the Football Game Algorithm (FGA) which was first initiated by Fadakar Ebrahimi which proved promising and had the strongest performance in all cases. FGA is expected to be able to determine the shortest distribution route from the existing cases to reduce the distribution costs incurred. This study takes data from 4 days of delivery that served 78 customers. The average daily transportation cost savings result is 42%. This amount indicates that the FGA algorithm is effective for completing a real case study in CVRP.
