Abstract

Indonesian economic development along with economic growth needs sustainable development funding sources. This research examines the effect of developmental funding sources such as international debt, foreign investment, and domestic saving toward the development of Indonesian economy. The analysis instrument of the research is double linier regression with ECM model (Error Correction Model). ECM model is an econometric model that can be used to search for regression equations of short term and long-term balance. The data employed are data time series gathered with annual method starting from 1976 to 2000. These data are a secondary data obtained from the financial reports of Indonesian Bank and Statistics Center Agency. Furthermore, to reveal whether the estimation result can be trusted, the researcher performs classical assumption test and statistical test. The analysis result shows that the three factors of funding source for economic development above have significant effect toward the growth of Indonesian economy.

Abstract

Population is concentrated in urban areas can cause the external diseconomies on environment if it exceeds the carrying capacity of the space and the urban economy. Otherwise the quality of the environment is getting better, led to the concentration of population in urban areas are increasingly high. This study aims to analyze the relationship of causality between the urban concentration and environmental quality in urban agglomeration areas. The data used in the study of secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of statistics and the City Government from 2000 to 2013. The analytical method used is the Granger causality and descriptive. Granger causality study results showed no pattern of reciprocal causality, between urban concentration and the quality of the environment, but there unidirectional relationship between the urban concentration and environmental quality. This means that increasing urban concentration led to decreased environmental quality.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the interaction of fiscal and monetary policy in Indonesia, especially after the introduction of fiscal and monetary policy shocks. The research method used is the vector autoregression (VAR). VAR is usually used for projecting coherent system variables and time to analyze the dynamic impact of disturbance factors contained in the system variables. Variables used in this study is the level of interest rates as a proxy for monetary policy instruments, government expenditures as a proxy for fiscal policy, inflation rates and national income. The results show that fiscal policy is a negative shock to inflation and responded with a tight monetary policy, while the shock in monetary policy will reduce national income. The application of fiscal and monetary policies that will effectively promote economic growth.

Abstract

This aim of the study will analyse factors that influenced intention the migration of the circular migrant. To achieve the aim, this study used the binary logit analysis technique of the Logistics, with made use of the primary data from 100 people who were made the respondent. This model tried to find the model that was best with four scenarios in testing the hypothesis. Results of the analysis showed that the scenario 4 was the best model. The factor that significantly influencedkeniatan resided the migration, he as follows: education (EDUC), and the income in the urban field (INCOME). Results of the prediction from the binary analysis logit the Respondent that said they stayed consistent to continue to become the circular migrant (did not reside) was relatively big, by chance him to reached 92.9%. On the whole the Binary Logit Regression model that was worn to explain factors that influenced niatan resided the circular migrant to this Jakarta had percentage of correct prediction as big as 78%. This at the same time explained that the behaviour the respondents in this research continue to tended as the circular migrant.

Abstract

This study aims to value air quality from the urban housing market in Yogyakarta City. It is also provides estimation of marginal willingness to pay for the air quality improvement and estimation of the consumer surplus due to reduce of air quality. The methodological framework for estimation is based on a hedonic price model. The result of hedonic price method concludes that by adopting a two-stage estimation procedure to estimate the relationship between air quality and property value, on the average, an increase in the level of O3 by one percent will increases the property price by 0.063 percent. By using a health production function and demand function mitigation can be seen that the medical history of the individual has effect on the number of working days lost. Meanwhile, O3 pollution has positive effect on the amount of medical expenses for mitigation. Decreasing in O3 pollution causes a decrease in the level of medical expenses to mitigate. Therefore, it is important to reduce the negative impacts of air pollution.

Abstract

Capital is required in farm to buy input such as fertilizer, pesticide, seed, land rent, labor wage, and to adopt the latest technology. To ease the burden of loan interest and to increase the access of farm to formal credit, the government provides interest subsidy for Food Security and Energy Credit (Kredit Ketahanan Pangan dan Energi, KKP-E). This study was aimed to analyze the impact of accessing KKP-E on paddy farms’ performance. The methods used in this study are descriptive analysis and propensity score matching model. Accessibility of KKP-E in research location was able to increase fertilizer use of 16.98 percent, pesticide use of 40.23 percent, labor outside farm household use of 43.08 percent, production of 58 percent, productivity of 23.64 percent, and farm profit of 84.5 percent. This quite high increase in percentage was due to the reason that farm business scale in this study was categorized as small-scale business.

Abstract

As the countries of Asia and the Pacific come to realize that they will need to confront the AIDS epidemic most are lacking information to help identify populations at risk, and most have no data with which to gauge levels of risk behavior in key segment of the general population. Using data from the 1987 Indonesian Contraceptive Prevalence Survey (The Demographic and Health Survey), we use marital month of first birth to derive estimates of premarital conceptions for marriage cohorts. The estimates produced suggest that the level of premarital sexual intercourse has been rising steadily since the late 1950s, but particularly fast since the mid to late 1970s. Rates specific for age at first marriage and the type of place where a women grew-up, as well as for education suggest that premarital intercourse is now prevalent and increasing rapidly in many segments of the country. The implications of these observations for the development and targeting intervention programs are discussed.

Abstract

National development in Indonesia needs the big enough number of funds. Principally, there are two kinds of the fund sources, i.e. the domestic funds and foreign funds. In fact, the number of domestic funds is often far smaller than that is needed, so forcing to search for alternative fund sources, namely, foreign loan. Foreign loan risk is big enough. The inflow of foreign loan will increase money in circulation, so that it can trigger inflation. On the other hand, it is obligation to pay in installment of the principal loan and its interest, which annually always burdens the national budget so that it results in larger deficit. All make economic situation more difficult for the future. While from year to year, the fund need in a country is increasingly bigger. It is interesting to study how causality correlation pattern between foreign loan and budget deficit. The result of this research showed that there are two-way causality correlations, namely, foreign loan influences budget deficit and budget deficit influences foreign loan.
