Abstract

Patient loyalty can affect hospital development, so it is necessary to control the influencing factors, one of them is by improving the quality of nursing services through a caring approach. The purpose of this study was to identify nurse’s caring at Palembang XX Hospital. Quantitative research methods with a correlative descriptive design and cross sectional approach was used in this research. The sampling technique was accidental sampling with 38 respondents. Data collection tools using questionnaires as many as 25 items caring nurse statements and 18 items of patient loyalty statements. Data analysis used the chi square test. The results of the research are caring nurses good 30 respondents (78.9%), contractual aspects are good 23 respondents (60.5%), ethical aspects are good 28 respondents (73.3%), spiritual aspects are good 24 respondents (63.2%) and good loyalty 24 respondents (63.2%). Research results show that there is a nurse caring relationship with loyalty (p value = 0.034), there is a relationship between contractual aspects and loyalty (p value = 0.006), there is a relationship between ethical aspects and loyalty (p value = 0.021) there is a relationship between spiritual aspects and loyalty ( p value = 0.035). The conclusion and suggestion is that there is a nurse caring relationship with patient loyalty. Efforts need to be made to improve caring nurses by making guidelines on caring nurses

Abstract

Background: Surgery is medication of invasive technique causing physical trauma and risk of death. This high risk can cause a psychological effect namely anxiety in the form of recovery process duration after a surgery.A patient that will go through a surgery feels anxious and needs an intervention of information fulfillment. Objective of the Study: This study aimed to find out the relationship between information fulfillment of pre-surgery patients and their level of anxiety at Muhammadyah Hospital of Palembang in 2017. Method: This study was quantitative using an analytical descriptive design with cross- sectional approach. The sampling technique was accidental sampling with the number of samples of 35 respondents. The data were collected using questionnaire with 12 items of information fulfillment statements and 20 items of statements of anxiety level. This study used bivariate analysis with chi square test. Results: The patients having poor information fulfillment were 22 respondents (62.9%), while those feeling anxious were 23 respondents (65.7%). The results of the statistical test showed that there was a relationship between information fulfillment and level of anxiety (p value = 0.024). Conclusion and Suggestion: Information fulfillment is very important to be carried out to decrease the anxiety of pre-surgery patients. It is expected that health workers particularly nursesapply their knowledge and formulate how to decrease the anxiety of the patients facing a surgery and information standard of pre-surgery condition that can be provided by the nurses in the form of pre-surgery nursing care.

Abstract

Cultural have a role on nutritional status for pregnant mother because had some belief, like taboo to consume some food that precisely has good nutrition and needed by our body. One of culture in Indonesia that have something to believe about food is Javanese culture. This research aims to analyze food belief who related to Java culture about recommendation and taboo to some food. The method of this research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Respondent of five people selected by the consideration that the respondent has a lot of information for a later interview by using the recorder. The result shown that there have restriction and suggestion to certain food. Food that is prohibited is goat meat, salty food, pineapple, durian, spicy food, herb, watermelon, sweet food, and ice. That kind of food belief can danger for pregnant mother and embryo. Whereas the recommended foods are fish without scales and drink plenty of water. The finding of this food had an effort to improve health.

Abstract

The post partum period is an extraordinary transition for a father in his first experience. Research results have shown that fathers have a very large role in the health and welfare of mothers and children. However, often the father has difficulty in adapting and carrying out his role due to lack of knowledge, skills and support. The lack of research exploring the experience, needs and behavior of fathers in adapting to postpartum causes a lack of references. The objective of is to explore fathers’ experience in adapting to postpartum period in Indonesia. The research design is qualitative research by descriptive phenomenology study.Technique sampling is by purposive sampling. The number of participants is 10 fathers who get their first child . Data were collected through in-depth interviews. Data were analysed by qualitative analysis with Colaizzi method. The result is the first psychological experience of being a father in adapting to postpartum includes positive and negative feelings. Positive feelings include happiness and gratitude. Negative feelings include confusion, difficulty adapting to new roles, feeling worried, changing patterns of relationships with wives, feelings of neglect, expected and required to be able to understand wives and provide support, lack of information from health workers relating to postpartum care. Conclusion: Father's first experience of adapting to postpartum is more perceived negative feelings. Recommendation : Health professionals are required to be able to understand the psychological condition of the father and then be able to provide the necessary support so that the father can adapt well and have a positive influence on the mother and baby.

Abstract

Leukemia is a most common children malignancy. Chemotherapy has been very effective in the management of leukemias. Chemotherapy is a systemic therapy, therefore the chemotherapy drug is not only directly related to the cancer but also damaged the normal tissue. Physiological effect of chemotherapy is important to be inspected because each individual is unique so it has different physiological effect, so it will require different treatment. The aim of this research is to understand physiological effect of chemotherapy in children with leukemia. This research is quantitative research, used descriptive analitic. The sample of this research were 30 sample with total sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire of physiological effect of chemotherapy. The results showed that the physiological effect of chemotherapy were children with alopecia of 24 (80%) , Nausea of 17 (56.7%), vomiting of 16 children (53.3%); Decreased appetite of 14 children (46.7%); oral ulceration of 19 children (63.3%);Diarrhea of 3 children (10%); Fatigue of 14 children (46.7%); increase in risk factors for infection consisting of fever of 16 children (53.3%), cough of 13 children (43.3%), and flu of 8 children (26.7%); Bruises of 8 children (26.7%), bleeding of 14 children (46.7%); and other side effects there are 14 children (40%). The conclusion of this research is the most common physiological effects of children undergoing chemotherapy are alopecia, oral ulceration, nausea and vomiting, and fever

Abstract

Growth and development, especially in children, sometimes impaired either before birth or after birth. Developmental disorders in children one of which is a developmental disorder behavior. Autism is one of irregularities in development since infancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of parents' parenting autistic children in SLB Agca Center Surakarta and analyze the relationship between foster parents with autistic children in special schools tantrums Agca Center Surakarta. The result is expected to increase the knowledge and contribute to the parties involved in this research about the types of parenting parents the right to their children, especially to children dishabilitas, such as autistic children. This study design using correlational, which examines the relationship between variables. Method is a cross sectional approach. The population in this study are all autistic children in SLB Agca Center Surakarta numbered 34 children. The sample in this study were students with autism SLB Agca Center Surakarta totaling 34 children. The sampling technique used is total sampling. Analysis of the data in this study using univariate and bivariate analysis aimed to test the hypothesis or testing a relationship between parenting parents with an autistic child temper tantrums in SLB Agca Center Surakarta. The results showed that parents' parenting of children autism in SLB Agca Center Surakarta included in the category of good, and the trend parenting democratic show that autistic children at SLB Agca Center Surakarta has temper tantrums low and temper tantrums of children autism in SLB Agca Center Surakarta included in the category are low, this indicates that the planting of education in SLB Agca Center Surakarta quite successful. There is a correlation between parenting system and temper tantrum of children with Autism Syndrom Disorder in Agca Center Surakarta.
