Abstract

District Muara Enim, South Sumatra Province has a potential region to develop an agriculture sector especially rice fields. The water resource such as Water Enim and Lamatang River support the capacity of the developing. Acording to the study in 1985 carried out by the BCEOM and Kampsax consultants, the lower Lematang region. Dangku Kiri, Dangku Kanan, and Modong with the total area of about 10.000 Ha has a highly potential to built rice field ith the technical irrigation. Based on the information, research of dependable flow of Lematang River to the irrigation requirement had been carried out by analyzing of all data collecting in those area  such as rainfall, climate, and discharge data. The result shows that the dependable flow of 20% probability of non exceedence is about 65.3 m3/sec. It is potential enough compare with the irrigation requirement of about 1.85 l/sec/ha or 18.5 m3/sec of total irrigation area. Technically, dependable flow of Lematang River is big enough but some constraints will appear especially in determining of free intake or weir because the river gradient is too low and the main  channel has been used by the people for navigation. To increase the accuracy of the research, an Automatic Water Level Recorder and one climatological station should be installed respectively in the alternative I location and in the irrigation area.

Abstract

There are two point of this geomorphological research. Firstly, to study the characteristic or physical condition of the observed area. Secondly, data providing or geomorphology information extracted from geomorphological map of scale 1 : 25.000. this research included literature study collecting of primary and secondary data. The method applied in this researh was the map interpretation of the observed area. The maps interpretation  included topographical, geological, slope, and soil. Fieldwork was carried out to compare the result of maps interpretation  with the facts of field, all at once for recording and surveying of the field physical data observed in the research. There were four types of recorded physical data i.e morphology, morphogenesis, morphocronology,, and morphoarrangement. In the research there was known that the observed area consists of an origin landform i.e. formation of volcanic origin and distinguished into nine units of landform. In broad outline, in the observed area of the research, there were many geomorphological processes i.e. weathering, erosion, and massdenudation of rocks, and there were also found steeply slopes deep valleys and formation of alluvial fan.

Abstract

The solar radiation is the most important fator affeccting evapotranspiration, the mechanism of transporting the vapor from the water surface has also a great effect. The main objectives of this study were to investigate the potential of using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to predict solar radiation related to temperature. The three-layer backpropagation were developed, trained, and tested to forecast solar radiation for Ciriung sub Cachment. Result revealed that the ANN were able to well learn the events they were trained to recognize. Moreover, they were capable of effecctively generalize their training by predicting solar radiation for sets unseen cases.

Abstract

AbstractWater resource is one of natural resources, that is very vital. It needed to be used and to be kept throughly. For those purposes need good and directed plan, in which one of the basic component of it plan have to be supported by available a complete hydrological data and it analysis. One of hydrological data analysis is to estimate runoff of catchement area, which can be used for planning the hydrologi construction. This research aim: 1) to calculate the run off discharge by thornwaite Mather Method, monthly, annualy, and the average on the catchment through a sample of Keduang, Temon, Alang, and Wuryantoro areas; 2) to analyze the difference of the run off discharge (at no. 1) by observation resulted from trend analysis. Based on the calculation, it appears, thornwaite-mather method showed that high discharge (moreover limit 0) in dry month. From the research result, it appears, that calculation discharge graphic had lower differentation than observation discharge graphic. From sample of catchment areas that have been investigated, from the highest to the lowest deviation was Wuryantoro catchment area (78,8%), Temon catchment area (47,38%), Alang catchment area (46,45%), and Keduang catchment area (24,98%) respectively). The condition like above caused by intervation of man. Not only did he influence vegetatively, but he influenced technically as well. From these conservation, technical conservation (flood and construction and reservoir) was the highest influence to run off discharge calculation. The run off discharge that was calculated by thornthwite-Mather Method based on air temperate, rainy, altitude, and water holding capacity only, but groundwater supply didn’t be calculated.
