Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ownership structure and corporate board structure. This study use two-tiers board system and use secondary data from non-financial firm which fulfill the requirement and listing in Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2010-2013. The analysis technique used a quantitative method with multiple linear regression. The object of research used in this research are non financial companies listed on the Stock Exchange in 2010 to 2013 the number of samples obtained some 191 samples. The results obtained are foreign ownership and managerial ownership negative significant with board size. And managerial dan government ownership negative significant with independent commissioners but foreign ownership has positive significant. The results emphasize that different ownership has behavior and preferences for corporate governance practices especially board structures.

Abstract

The development of globalization era gives us tighter business competition in many sector including UKM (Usaha Kecil dan Menengah). A company tends to make a good business and strategic operation to gives a positive effect for all UKM doers to face business competition. This case is very interesting to be researched and taught how business and operation strategic arrangement provide high competitiveness factor towards the company. This research included as descriptive-explorative qualitative research. This research did not need any theory or hypotheses but only use some prepared questions as a guide to get primary data about information which is the first data that required for this research (Moleong: 1998). This research object is one of the UKM convection called Scissors Convection on jl. Simorejo 6, Surabaya. Data analysis technique in this research are using content analysis and matrixes as the instrument. Matrixes that used in this data analysis are External Factor Evaluation (EFE), Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE), Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM), Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats (SWOT), Grand Strategy, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). Also, triangulation technique as source consistency experiment towards data and operation strategy based on Roger G. Schroeder’s Operation Management. Result of this research proved that the appropriate business strategy for Scissors Convection are product development strategy for variation and product design while the best operation strategy is product innovator strategy.

Abstract

Innovation is needed by SMEs to survive and thrive in business also increase performance of the firm. Previous research referred to this study that the innovation has resulted in a positive effect on the performance of the firm. While this research discusses Effect Innovation Against Firm Performance In Furniture SMEs in Bojonegoro. The population in this study amounted to 306 the number of the sample that is used as much as 175 respondents. There are two hypotheses in this research, innovation with dimensions Product Innovation, Process Innovation, Market Innovation simultaneously significant effect on the Firm Performance as the first hypothesis, and Product innovation, has dominant influence significantly to the Firm Performance for the second hypothesis. The method used for the calculation and testing of linear regression analysis premises with SPSS tool 22. This study resulted in that the dimensions of Product Innovation, Process Innovation, Market Innovation simultaneously significant effect on Firm Performance and Product innovation, has dominant influence significantly to the Firm Performance so the both of hypothesis in this study is received. For further research that examines the SMEs, can use the object of another, larger study outside the furniture business, adding a secondary data without compromising the primary data to determine the performance of the company, also with other research models based on theories that support.

Abstract

Measuring the level of customer satisfaction is one of the important factors to overcome the competition is rapidly increased. By knowing the level of customer satisfaction from services provided, the company could undertake the mapping of improved service quality. By using the integration method servqual, IPA, and QFD, the service provider is able to determine the level of customer satisfaction and straightly can make improvements of service with low levels of satisfaction. This research was conducted at Plasa TELKOM Dinoyo Surabaya’s branch. From the questionnaires showed that all the attributes of service quality in the questionnaire have a negative gap value. In IPA method showed 6 attributes with high importance and low value the fact. The quality improvement to be done such as improving the application of SOP, increasing the number of officers, officials periodically evaluate, reward the best employees every month, the maximization of information technology systems, and implementing 4S culture are really needed.

Abstract

Women who work and uphold the profession will be more likely to experience conflict, because indirectly he would be having attachment or more concentrate to work and put aside her role as a housewife. A sense that women are more concentrated due to work and put aside domestic affairs, this condition will bring conflicts that arise because they feel neglected work as a housewife in addition also the commitment owned organization, especially among civil servants. Conditions such as this is also the case in the Bhakti Dharma  Husada Hospital Surabaya, increasing consumer complaints in the past few years is an indication of a decrease in the performance of nurses and one of them was allegedly caused by conflicting roles experienced by nurses and resources woman in the hospital. This means that in this case the performance achieved is not in line with expectations because of the role that conflict. This study sample is 46 female nurses in Bhakti Dharma Husada Hospital Surabaya which will be reviewed in terms of work-family conflict and its influence on the performance of the organizational commitment owned. The results of analysis with Partial Least Square show that work-family conflict has no direct influence on the performance of nurses. Meanwhile, with the influence of organizational commitment variables inferred indirectly influence more significant. This suggests that organizational commitment to civil servants clearly will affect the performance without regard to work-family conflict undertaken female nurse.
