Abstract

Motorcycle parking facilities at PT Tirta Investama (TIV) Wonosobo are relatively new, but its application is felt less comfortable because it is too narrow. Moreover, some motorcycles are not parked in the places that have been provided but parked on the driveway and alleyway, which makes parking access even more limited. This research is aimed to evaluate motorcycle parking facilities. Data collection was carried out by direct survey at the PT TIV motorcycle parking location from 06.00 a.m. to 06.00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. The evaluation method compares the parking space needed (KRP) with the available Parking Space Unit (SRP). KRP was obtained from parking characteristics by Hobbs (1995) and Indonesian Technical Guidelines for The Implementation of Parking Facilities (1996). The evaluation showed that the parking space (SRP) was lacking because only 168 SRPs were available, but 223 SRPs were needed based on the analysis. In addition, the existing alleyway needs to be widened to comply with the regulations from the Directorate General of Land Transportation. This research also provides an additional design for motorcycle parking buildings that will be carried out according to the needs and available space, which is only sufficient for 206 SRP.

Abstract

The increasingly high development in Indonesia has spurred the number of construction service companies to increase. On the other hand, the increase in the growth of construction service companies has not been accompanied by a good atmosphere of construction implementation. As a result, delays in completing work have become commonplace in construction projects in Indonesia, the eastern part, and especially Papua. This research investigated the factors causing delays in completing construction work in Papua Province, especially in Merauke Regency. Questionnaires were distributed to contractors registered as members of GAPEKSINDO and domiciled in the Merauke district. The purposive sampling technique took the number of samples. The data analysis in this research used a Non-Parametric Statistical Test with Kendall's W analysis using SPSS 25.0 for the Windows program. The seven main factors that cause construction project delays are related to consultants. The test results show that the main factor of delay in construction projects in the Merauke Regency is the labor factor, with a mean rank value of 2.56. Factors that do not affect construction delays are other factors with a mean rank value of 5.28.

Abstract

Earthquake shocks generally cause the biggest shocks in building structures. Earthquake waves, generated by an earthquake event, are the main cause of this shaking. A new building of the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia, was selected for this research to evaluate the effect of earthquake shaking on the structural response. A developed time history-based artificial earthquake ground motion was used in the structural analysis. Furthermore, the time history was developed based on spectral matching with target spectra derived from a probabilistic seismic hazard analysis. This analysis results in the building structure's seismic response, which is then evaluated based on the parameters set by the earthquake standards/regulations for buildings. This building is relatively safe against design earthquake shocks based on the results.

Abstract

Infrastructure progress needs to be supported by the development of research on construction material technology, one of which is concrete technology. With its various advantages, concrete is continuously used to solve infrastructure problems. However, it also has impact on the use of large-scale materials and has the potential to deplete natural resources if not handled properly. One material that can be used as an alternative is iron sand. Iron sand is a mineral resource with magnesium content and has characteristics as a substitute for fine aggregate in concrete mixes. This study aimed to determine the effect of iron sand as a substitute for fine aggregate in high-strength concrete mixtures. This research method was a laboratory experiment by testing the characteristics of high strength concrete, namely compressive strength, tensile strength, and modulus of elasticity. This study found that the optimum concrete compressive strength occurred in the V-02 sample with a result of 51.71 MPa from the design compressive strength (fcr) = 45 MPa. The optimum tensile strength test occurred in the V-02 sample with a result of 4.13 MPa, and the optimum elasticity modulus test occurred in the V-02 sample producing 28684.37 MPa

Abstract

Indonesia is a prone country to earthquake hazards. This situation is indicated by the number of earthquakes ranging from small to significant events. However, digital earthquake ground motion data are not available, making it difficult for further research. This paper aims to explore recordings of earthquakes that occurred in Indonesia, which are then presented in digital data and used to identify their damage potential in the form of Seismic Intensity Measures (SIMs). After being traced, it turned out that there were only six earthquakes whose ground acceleration time history was found through the paPers published by researchers. The earthquakes were the Mw 6.2 Yogyakarta (2006), the Mw7.6 Padang (2009), the Mw6.1 Bener Meriah Central Aceh (2013), and the Mw6.5 Pidie Jaya Aceh (2016), the Mw7.5 Palu (2018) and the Mw6.1 Malang (2021) earthquakes. The manual digitization and processing to obtain ground acceleration data every 0.01s time step are required. Eight aspects based on acceleration and two aspects based on response spectrum have been used as parameters for Seismic Intensity Measures SIMs. The exploration results show that the source of the earthquake in Sumatra is still relatively shallow, getting more profound in the Java and Nusa Tenggara subduction. The P.G.A. of the Yogyakarta earthquake is 0.272g with a total duration of more than 50 seconds. In general, according to SNI 1726, 2019, the spectrum has been able to cover all ground acceleration time histories. The Yogyakarta earthquake has the highest Earthquake Power, Arias Intensity, and Potential Destructiveness values, namely PE = 0.255 and IA = 2.201, and P.D. = 0.166.

Abstract

The performance of a pavement depends on a load of passing vehicles; in anticipation of these problems, alternative solutions are needed. One solution is using a Superpave mixture as a type of pavement. Previous studies concluded that the Superpave mixture performed better in receiving or distributing vehicle loads and resistance to submersion conditions. However, to strengthen this opinion, exploring it from another point of view is necessary. One of them is the mechanistic-empirical analysis of the KENPAVE program, which is needed to determine the prediction of service life. In this study, the AC-WC mixture was used as a comparison. The analysis started by calculating the stiffness modulus value for both types of pavements, determining the alternative pavement design plans to be applied using Bina Marga 2017 method, and ending the mechanistic-empirical analysis process using two modeling forms, namely viscoelastic and elastic. As a result, the Superpave mixture has a relatively higher predictive value of service life compared to the AC-WC mixture. This result applies to both the viscoelastic and elastic models. Suggestions for using an alternative with Bina Marga 2017’s design chart 3-B on FFF7 criteria are given regarding maximizing the performance of the Superpave mixture in the field. The mechanistic-empirical analysis of the design alternative shows that the predicted service life is above the 20-year design age limit, which is 30.7 years in the viscoelastic model and 40.9 years in the elastic model before the prediction of the first damage.

Abstract

Birobuli is located in South Palu, which has highly vulnerable to earthquakes. One of the phenomena that usually occur after an earthquake is liquefaction which causes significant damage and loss of life. Furthermore, all the infrastructure is required to analyze the effect of external load and potential hazards. This research aims to investigate the liquefaction potential in Birobuli, South Palu. The method was divided into two categories: grain size distribution analysis and empirical formula based on CPT data. The result presented a similar trend in grain size analysis which consist of all the range in the potential to liquefaction, while the CPT result describes the same meaning. The CPT 1 result showed SF<1 between 0-5m and 9-11m, while CPT 2 had fluctuating data in ranges between 0.18-2.00 in 0-4m, SF under 2 in 6-8m and 9-11m. This study was expected to provide information for local government as disaster mitigation for Birobuli Area.

Abstract

MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) are innovative results of using sawdust waste to overcome the problem of wood scarcity. This study used a WPC Teak dowel because it has high shear strength and does not cause rust marks. This study was conducted to determine the value of the MDF connection capacity using WPC Teak dowel connectors and to determine the connection failure mode based on the EYM (European Yield Model) theory. This study used a WPC Teak dowel with a diameter of 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm. The type of connection is a double-shear wooden joint using MDF. The test was carried out at the Structural Laboratory, Civil Engineering Department, Tidar University using a Compression Testing Machine to get the value of the connection capacity and test failure mode based on the MDF bearing strength and WPC Teak post failure referring to ASTM D764-97a. The test results obtained an average connection capacity value WPC dowel with a diameter of 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm, respectively, which was 1094 N; 1870 N; 2439 N; and 3462. The highest average connection capacity value at 12 mm diameter was 3462 N, and the lowest at 6 mm was 1094 N.

Abstract

Sulawesi is one of Indonesia's large islands with a high vulnerability to earthquakes due to its geographical location, which lies between the confluence of tectonic plates and several active faults. The earthquake events' intensity was relatively high with small to large magnitudes. One area recently hit by a large earthquake that caused material losses and casualties was found in Mamuju. Given this condition, it is essential to determine the latest seismicity mitigation in the Mamuju area and its surroundings to look at the distribution of the mainshock based on the magnitude and depth of the earthquake. Earthquakes that occur in a particular area and for a certain period can describe the concentration of earthquake activity. The earthquake data activity used in this study is to find earthquake data for the period 1960-2021, followed by a declustering process which is carried out to separate the mainshock from the aftershocks. Separating the mainshock from the aftershocks is performed using the time window and distance windows criteria. Based on the analysis, it was found that the number of mainshocks that occurred in the Mamuju region was 20.11% of the total earthquake events that occurred (5366 earthquake event data) with a dominance of moderate to large magnitude (4<M<6). Meanwhile, based on the depth of the earthquake, 54.19% of the earthquake event were shallow earthquakes (0 km < D < 60 km). This can be used as a basis for updating existing earthquake maps and for paying attention to the application of earthquake-resistant building regulations and building construction permits in the Mamuju area, considering that the vulnerability to earthquakes in this area is relatively high.

Abstract

Today, the increasing electricity demand will increase the number of electricity infrastructure developments in Indonesia. One of the electricity infrastructures is the transmission line, which transmits electricity from the power plant to the consumer. On the other hand, the limited funds owned by the owner and the various benefits that will be obtained have made a turnkey contract widely used. However, transmission line projects with a turnkey contract have just been implemented in Indonesia, so many studies have yet to be done on the risks during construction. As a result, most transmission line projects in Indonesia use traditional/non-turnkey contracts. This study aimed to identify and analyze risks that occur in transmission line projects with a turnkey contract during the construction period. This study was conducted quantitatively; risk identification was obtained from various risk variables in previous studies. The risk variables were then measured for the level of risk using a probability and impact analysis. Finally, a questionnaire was distributed to respondents who were directly involved in the construction period of the transmission line projects with a turnkey contract. The results of this study indicate the risks that occur in the transmission project with a turnkey contract. There are two risks with the highest level of risk that affect the completion time of the work, namely (i) the contractor is in financial trouble and (ii) the contractor's financial capacity is not good. It is hoped that contractors or other stakeholders can use the results of this study to mitigate before the work starts so that the project can be completed within the agreed time.
