Abstract

Employment is basically a problem which is faced by all regions, but its intensity may vary, based the factors which influence it. Employment exists because of investment and attempts to extend employment because of other factors such as inflation, interest rate, exchange rate, government expenditures, and PDRB (Gross Domestic Revenue). The objective of the research was to analyze the influence of exogenous variables on endogenous variables such as employment, inflation, interest rate, exchange rate, investment, government expenditures, and PDRB. The research used quantitative analysis by using coherent secondary data from 1985 until 2015 obtained from BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics) ofNorth Sumatera and Bank Indonesia. The data were analyzed by using path analysis model. The result of the research showed that exogenous variables simultaneously had significant influence on endogenous variables in each equation model. The variables of investment, government expenditures, gross domestic revenue, inflation, and interest rate did not have any significant influence on the variable of employment. Meanwhile, the variable of exchange rate had positive and significant influence on the variable of employment. Therefore, it is recommended that the variable of exchange rate became theattention of the North Sumatera Provincial Administration.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the monetary policy variable linkages with Indonesia's balance of payments. Using svar and IRF analysis found that the level of α = 0.05, variable monetary policy instruments such as open market operation (OPT), the minimum reserve requirement (GWM), and the discount rate (rDisk) has a significant relationship with the variable balance of payments (BOP) . In fact, all the macroeconomic variables also significantly affect the balance of payments variables, except the variable domestic interest rates. This means that there is a close link between monetary policy instruments with the balance of payments in Indonesia in the period of the study.

Abstract

Financial inclusion programs in Asia began to intensify with focus on improving public access, especially those who have not yet enjoyed banking services. This makes financial inclusion one of the focuses of development in the financial sector in various countries, especially ASEAN, as a sound financial system can promote economic growth. This study aims to see the comparison of financial inclusion rates and see the effect of socio-economic variables on  financial inclusion in  ASEAN  countries 2010-2015. In  order  to  see  the comparison of inclusion level of finance in each ASEAN country, the Index of Financial Inclusion (IFI) method was developed by Sarma (2008), while to examine the relationship between socio-economic variables to financial inclusion, the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method was used estimation techniques in the Random Effects Model approach. The results show that in general, financial inclusion in ASEAN countries is mainly influenced by the dimension of a disorder. In addition, only per-capita GDP variables are not significant partially. While other variables, namely population over 15 years, unemployment rate, and the number of people in rural areas have a significant influence on index of financial inclusion
