Abstract

One of the main functions of the government of North Sumatra Province is how to reduce the gap between the district / city in the province of North Sumatra. A regional disparity is the ratio of real per capita income among regions with per capita real income of the province. This study aims to analyze the development gap among districts / cities in North Sumatra. In addition, this study also analyzes the Klasen typology at each district / city in North Sumatra. The data’s that used in this study are secondary data from BPS report, North Sumatra in Figures 2004-2008 period. Data were analyzed using descriptive methods to illustrate how the levels of inequality and Klasen typology each district / city in North Sumatra. To see the inequality index formula used Williamson (Vw) and to see Klasen typology by dividing the area into developed areas, developed pressure, developed and underdeveloped. The research result shows that there is no gap between districts / cities in North Sumatra, where the index values approaching Williamson zero, and Medan is the only city that has a value field Williamson index of 0.314, while other areas close to zero.The districts / cities in North Sumatra has a category 4 classes according to Klasen typology the developed areas, developed pressure, developed and underdeveloped regions. The Medan city including developed areas and has the highest disparity of 0.314.The implication of this research is the need to accelerate policy development with the help of the central government.

Abstract

Economic growth in North Sumatera (Sumut) in the last five years has increasedsignificantly. However, income inequality be widened. From the results of previous research has identified that one of the six sectors that have the most optimal possibilities for development as the development model of economic development of sectoral policies that can solve that problem in Sumut is the industry of food, beverages and tobacco (IMMT). The question needs further analysis to obtain a more in‐depth information in the development of that sector. Specifically, this study aims to identify the body of model of economic development policy in IMMT sector in addressing income inequality in the province of Sumut. The analysis is based on a model approach Social Accounting Matrix (SAM). For the purposes of analysis: (1) linkage, and (2) multiplier. Results of the analysis showed that IMMT have: (1) the index of sensitivityand power of dispersionis greater than one at a time, (2) forward and backward spread effect index larger than other sectors, (3) the second largest output multipliers, and (4) ranked sixth refers to the total sector.

Abstract

This study aimed to test whether the effect of Total Assets, Net Income (Net Revenue), Inflation, and the BI Rate to shares in companies isted on the Stock Exchage in 2005-2014. Another purpose of this study was to see if there is a significant influence on the movement of stock prices BEI manufacturing company to Total Assets, Net Income (Net Revenue), Inflation, and the BI Rate. his research sample is manufacturing companies listed on the Stock Exchange in 2005-2014 and selected by random sampling method. Data used is panel data by type of secondary data collected by the method of documentation. ypothesistesting was conducted using multiple regression analysis as seen from the quared with Eviews program. The results of this study indicate that the Total Assets, Net Income (Net evenue), Inflation, have a significant influence on stocks. While the BI Rate has a significant influence on stock price. This research ontributes to the development of capital markets, especially related to stock price.

Abstract

Silangit Airport is an air transportation infrastructure located in Silangit, North Tapanuli, North Sumatra Province. The government has set Lake Toba as a tourism destination the main attraction for local and foreign tourists. With the continued development of regional tourism, the number of passengers and the number of tourists to SIlangit Airport will continue to increase and affect the regional economic growth which will have an impact on the figure of the North Sumatra Province GRDP. Therefore, the government has begun a big plan to advance Indonesian tourism starting from the construction of facilities and infrastructure in each tourist area. Lake Toba, located in Toba Samosir Regency, North Sumatra, is the largest lake in Indonesia, which is expected to bring more visits from various regions, both domestic and foreign. The aim of the study was to identify and analyze the problems of developing Silangit airport to support the acceleration of development in tourism. The results are recommendations for developing the Silangit airport area, including increasing accessibility and transportation connectivity from / to tourist locations throughout the region of Lake Toba tourism object by building Kualanamu-Parapat toll roads, Silangit-Parapat and feeder roads as well as adequate and then traffic smooth, safe, safe.

Abstract

Inflation expectations to be one of the main runway most economic agents in setting prices and wages, which in turn affect consumption and investment decisions. In relation to the aim of research is to look at the effectiveness of the path of inflation expectations by analyzing random kejutatan (shock) and the contribution of each variable to changes in another variable. The results of this study concluded that (1) all give each variable a random shocks to the other variables so as to achieve long-term equilibrium. This is shown by the results of the estimated IRF test on each variable, (2) all the variables together contribute to other variables as shown by the results of estimation VD test. From the estimation of inflation expectations can be concluded that monetary policy affects inflation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of macroeconomic performance, i.e., the inflation and gross regional domesticproduct of agriculture sector (PDRB), on thefarmer’s term of trade (NTP) in Southeast Sulawesi. Data used are of quarterly, covering 2006-2012. The analysis is undertaken by using a multiple linear regression withordinary least squaresestimation method(OLS). The results showed that the inflation has a significant effecton the farmer’s term oftrade. Theeffect of the inflation on the farmer’s term of trade is responsive, the inflation of 1% will be able to decrease thefarmer’s term of trade at 1.61 %. Agricultural SectorPDRB does not significant affecton thefarmer’s term of trade. This study implies that the inflation control is an important task for the government so that the effect of inflation does not result in a sharp decrease in NTP.

Abstract

Demand vegetables in the city of Pekanbaru increased, but relatively similar vegetable production and a tendency to decline. This study aimed to analyze the dominant factors that determine the production of vegetables and return to scale of vegetables in Pekanbaru. Sampling metode was multi-stage random sampling with a sample of 44 vegetable farmers. The production function used is function cobb douglas with the estimation method  Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Results of this researh revealed that, first: The dominant factor affecting vegetable production is labor, seed and fertilizer urea at 5 percent level of convidence and determination coefficient of 93.40 percent. Second, return to scale of vegetable farming was Decreasing Return to Scala (DRTS). This means that if the factorsof production increased by 1 percent, the production of vegetables will increase by 0.985 percent. Third, the policy implications that must be done by the government in order to meet the demand of vegetables for the city of Pekanbaru made efforts to increase intensification.

Abstract

PT. Bank Aceh, Medan Branch, undergoes the decrease in its clients’ loyalty which indicated by the increase in non-active clients in the period of 2011-2015. The objective of this research was to find out and analyze the influence of Service Quality on Clients’ satisfaction and its effect on their loyalty at PT. Bank Aceh, Medan Branch. The data were gathered by conducting descriptive quantitative survey and distributing questionnaires to 94 respondents and analyzed by using path analysis. The result of the research showed that,simultaneously, tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy had positive and significant influence on clients’ loyalty. Partially, tangibles had positive and significant influence on clients’ loyalty, reliability had positive and significant influence on clients’ loyalty, responsiveness had positive and significant influence on clients’ loyalty, assurance did not have any positive and significant influence on clients’ loyalty, and empathy had positive and significant influence on clients’ loyalty at PT. Bank Aceh, Medan Branch. Clients’ satisfaction had positive and significant influence on clients’ loyalty at PT. Bank Aceh, Medan Branch. Tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy directly and indirectly had positive influence on clients’ loyalty through clients’ satisfaction at PT. Bank Aceh, Medan Branch

Abstract

Economy growth is one of indicators of people prosperity in a country. ASEAN is a type of economic integration which aim to increase economic growth of member countries. Intra-regional and extra-regional trade is kind of trade agreement which aim to increase the trade rate and economic growth. However, the rate of  extra-regional trade in every ASEAN-5 countries is higher than intra-regional trade. The objective of this research is to analyze the factors which effect the economic growth of ASEAN-5 countries during 2007-2011. With random effect model in pooled data processing, the research result described that extra-regional trade of ASEAN, foreign direct investment, inflation, and the population described positive and significant effect to economic growth of every ASEAN-5 countries. Whereas, intra-regional trade of ASEAN effect positive and insignificant to the economic growth of ASEAN-5 countries.

Abstract

North Sumatra is a province that has a fundamental problem of high unemployment. Judging from the years 1994-2010, overall pengengguran is the biggest challenge still facing the North Sumatra due to termination of employment due to the economic crisis, rising raw material prices significantly from the various sub-industries are incorporated in the manufacturing category. On the other hand the costs for labor and increase the added value of the resulting output is a condition that must be considered. This research aims to analyze the influence of GDP, the number of industries, inflation and the minimum wage on employment in the industrial sector of North Sumatra simultaneously and partially.The data used are secondary data sourced from North Sumatra Province namely BPS GDP variable, the number of industries, inflation, wages and employment industries in the province of North Sumatra as time series from 1994 till , 2010. The results of this research can be concluded that simultaneous simultaneously change the variable GDP, inflation, industrial, and UMR significantly affect the demand for industrial labor in the province of North Sumatra. Furthermore, partially concluded that GDP variable, and the number of positive effect on demand for industrial labor industry, while inflation and minimum wage variables negatively affect the demand for industrial labor in the province of North Sumatra.The results also showed that the most dominant variable effect on the demand for labor in the industrial sector of the province of North Sumatra is the number of industries.
