Abstract

Land use change can be predicted by spatial modeling. One of spatial method to predict land use change is CLUES (Conversion of Land Use Changes and its Effect at small regional extent). The objective of the research is to determine factors that influence land use change in Kabupaten Majalengka and to predict its land use in the future. Data applied in this research project was biogeophysic, socio economic and existing land use data of Kabupaten Majalengka. Eight land use classes applied were shrub, forest, pond, dry land agriculture, pasture, settlement, and plantation and rice field. Land use classes were dependent variables; and biogeophysical and socio economical data were independent variables.  Binary logistic regression was applied to determine influenced factors to land use change. Factors that influence of type of land use’s occurrence were different for each type of land use. The value of the factors was used as an input in land use modeling using CLUES.  Scenario that used were scenario with land use change rate same as previous change. The simulation was applied for 12 years with the baseline data in the year of 2009. The simulation result shows that the land use types of shrub, forest, and plantation are decrease. The area that increased are land use types of dry land agriculture, settlement and rice field; however land use types of pond and pasture are remain constant.

Abstract

Historic-Religious Kampung refers to the historical urban kampung which has an artifact or tradition of religious ritual. This type of kam-pong is able to grow independently because of the spirit that comes from its religious tradition, which in turn generating the resident’s and migrant’s economic activities. Currently there is an argument that formalism and universalism of the physical forms and the demolition of urban kampung have alienated the local spirit and culture. The socio-spatial-economic approach on to the historic-religious kampung case presented here will be significantly contributing to the preservation of the local spirit (Genius Loci). This paper is based on the empirical study of historic-religious kampung Luar Batang (Jakarta, Indonesia) which hopefully will be able to uncover the relationships between the local spirit and spatial structure. Dialogues based on the comparative study with the other similar kampung have been carried out as an attempt to conceptually formulate the significant aspects that would be useful for consideration in environmental regulation planning and maturation process, especially for the historic-religious kampung settlements in urban areas in Indonesia and other similar contexts.

Abstract

The Special Economic Zones for Maritime Industries in Paciran District would create a new activity center in North Lamongan. Indications of rapid development in the northern of Lamongan Region made this district strategic in spatial and economic context, however there was no policy of Lamongan Local Government to regulate land use and control land use development in the Paciran District related to the Economic Zone. The purpose of this study were to identify the characteristics and development of land use in Paciran District Year 1999-2010, to analyze the physical potency and constraints of land and provide land-use zoning recommendations in Paciran district related to the planning of Maritime IndustriesSpecial Economic Zones. Descriptive analysis aimed to identify the characteristics and development of land use, evaluative descriptive analysis was used to evaluate the land policy, the the physical potency and constraints of land and land suitability. Evaluative analysis was used to determine the need for housing land and facilities. Prescriptive analysis was used to determine land use zoning. The results of this study showed that the development of land use in Paciran District was still dominated by unbuilt area, so it has great potentialstodevelopindustrial estates. Based on the analysis, Paciran District should be divided into 13 blocks. For zoningrecommendations, Paciran District was divided into seven main zones, they were: the zone of protected areas, agriculture zone, residential zone, industrial zone, mining zone, forest zone and tourism zone. Zoning of industrial land in Paciran District related to the planning of KEK will be directed to the development of shipyard maritime industries in the village of Kemantren (Block 10) and Sidokelar (Block 11), which covers an area of 540.57 hectares.

Abstract

Victoria Park is the largest city park in Hong Kong. This city park is not only known in Hong Kong, but also very well known in Indonesia as a gathering place for Indonesia domestic helpers (TKW) in Hong Kong. This research tried to find out some determinant factors that have been affected the public open spac of Victoria Park to be a gathering place for thousands of TKW in Sunday and holidays as their day off. In order to get the results of research, some methodological research had been conducted such as: observation (survey), mapping, interviews and literature studies. The results showed that Victoria Park has a number of factors capable of meeting the needs of domestic help-ers in Hong Kong, these factors consist of internal factors and external factors. Abstract

Research conducted on the development of new urban Metro Tanjung Bunga to analyze spatial physical changes in work as a determinant of social formation changes, in the Metro Tanjung Bunga area, using qualitative approaches and quantitative approaches. Data obtained from a number of good local community informants from community leaders and the respondent. Spatial physical changes that take place very quickly encourage the acceleration of development, starting with the development of new functions, encourage the entry of migrants in infiltrative and expansive. The changes of a single social formation to double formation inside there precapitalist social formations and social formations of capitalism suggests that the coexistence of two types of social formations in the mastery of space on the reproductive development of new urban areas are not always mutual interrelation and harmony, so impact to the marginalization of local communities.

Abstract

This paperaims at discussing a concept of Spatial Information for Regional Planningthat can beapplied at Indonesian district (kabupaten/kota) level. The discussionisdivided into the following substances: abasic concept of Geographic InformationSystem (GIS)-based Spatial InformationSystem for Regional Planning (SISRP); kinds of data for the SISRP-model; potential users of the SIRP-model; GIS components as the media for presentinginformationin the SISRP-model; the SISRP-model towards participatory planningconcepts; andimplementationaspects of the SISRP-model and a short review of SISRP-development in two Kabupatens, i.e. Rembang and Pemalang. In the end of this paper, a summaryresulted from the discussion and some recommendationsconcerning the potentials and bariers of SISRP-development in Indonesia aregiven.
