Abstract

The purpose of this research was to obtain lines of candidates restorer that has a good combining ability against three plants Cytoplasmic Male Sterile (CMS/A). The research was conducted at the research field at PT. Syngenta Indonesia Cikampek West Java, Jati Sari, Balonggandu village. Crossed design and  analysis arranged by following  line x tester desing. Ten hybrid line restorer fertility and three line CMS planted the field using randomized complete block design with  2 replications, treatment consisting of 43 treatment so getting 86 unit experiment with the analysis resources combining ability. This research was the observed against character of high of plants, number of filled grain per clump , number of filled per clump, number of unfilled per clump, weights 1000 grains, number of productive, panicle length, persentase fertiliy panicle. The result showed that all the characters observed having had significant variance of general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA). Expression of the characters above controlled by the action of genes additive or non-aditif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Urea fertilizer on the growth and production of local rice germplasm from Aceh. The results showed that treatment of Urea very significant effect on the number of tillers at the age of 60 days after planting, and significantly affected the number of seedlings 45 days after planting. Growth and yield the best found in the treatment of urea 0.65 g pot-1 (200 kg ha-1). Varieties very significant effect on plant height age of 30, 45 and 60 days after planting, tillering, number of tillers at the age of 45 and 60 days after planting, life begins to flower, the percentage of grain contains, the percentage of empty grains, 1,000 grain weight, yield per plot and yield per hectare. Continously varieties significantly affected the number of seedlings 15 days after planting. Productivity of rice plants is best found in the varieties Sipirok 9.58 tons ha-1. There is no real interaction between the urea treatment of all varieties of variable growth and yield of rice plants.

Abstract

A field experiment to evaluate the effect of variety and Trichoderma harzianum compost  doses which riches on the growth and yield of red chilli was carried out at the Experimental Farm Agricultural Faculty Syiah Kuala University, from May 2013 through to January 2014. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Factorial Design with two replications. The treatment one consisted of three variety i.e.: F-1 Paramas 201, Ferosa var CA. 237 and Kheng Aik, the treatment two consisted of four doses T. harzianum compost i.e.: control, 10 g per plant, 20 per plant and 30 g per plant. The result showed that the variety and T. harzianum compost  doses increased growth and yield of red chilli, and the variety F-1 Paramas 201 was found to give the highest plant, long fruit, height per fruit, fruit number per plant and fruit weight per plant and dosage of 20 g per plant of T. harzianum compost was found to give the fruit number per plant, height per fruit and fruit weight per plant.

Abstract

The study is look at the effect of various doses of the chemical properties of organic materials Andisol, growth and production of wheat. This study was conducted in March to June 2013 in the village Tunyang, Timang Gajah, Bener Meriah province of Aceh and continued in Soil Chemistry Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Unsyiah, Darussalam Banda Aceh. This experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with 10 treatments and 3 replications. experiments conducted in this study were: control, manure 10 tons ha-1, manure 20 tons ha-1, manure 30 tons ha-1, compost 10 tons ha-1, compost 20 tons ha-1, compost 30 tons ha-1, 10 tons of manure ha-1 + compost 10 tons ha-1, manure 20 tons ha-1+ compost 10 tons ha-1, 20 tons of manure ha-1+ compost 20 tons ha-1. These results indicate that increase of organic material does not change the status of pH, C-organic, N-total and P-total planted wheat Andisol. increase of organic materials can improve status P-available and P-retention in Andisol. Highest result the addition of organic material encountered increase manure 30 tons ha-1.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effectof Aceh Soybean Local Varietiesand different doses of Mycorhiza on theproduction and seed quality, as well asthe interaction between both treatments. This research was conductedat the Experimental Farmof the Agriculture Faculty, Seed Scienceand Technology Laboratory and Plant Pathology Laboratory ofthe Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University from December2013 to March 2014 by using randomized block design (RBD) factorial with two treatments, the first treatment was varieties with three different varieties namely Bener Meriah, Kipas Merah and Anjasmoro, the second treatment wasdose ofmycorrhizal with four levels namely 0, 5, 10 and 15g/plant with three replications. The observed parameters were the number of pods/plant, number of podspithy/plant, number ofseeds/plant, seed weight/plant, weight of100 seeds, the potential of yieldper hectare, growth potential, seed germination, growth speed, growth simultaneity and weight of drynormal seedling.The results showedthat theKipas Merah varieties showed better results, but for the seed quality, Bener Meriah varieties show edbetter results. Whit the use ofmycorrhiza, dose of 10g/plant showed ``better resultson the root infection percentage parameters, while the other parameters, mycorrhiza doses howed nosignificant effect. Significant interaction between both factors iscontained in Anjas moro varieties with 5 g/plant mycorrhizal dose on the parameter rnumber of pods, seed weight, 100-seed weight and yield potentialper hectare, root infection percentage and growth simultaneity.

Abstract

The aim of this research is find out best kind effect of growing media and concentration of the plant growth regulator Dekamon and interaction both of two treatment on growth and yield of melon. This research was conducted at the Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Banda Aceh at May until August 2013. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design 3 x 5 with 2 factors and 3 replications. The results of this experiment shows that the growing media give significant effect on height of plant at the age 36 dap and diameter rods 16 dap. Growing media of soil + husk (M2) is better growing media to  height of plant and diameter rods but soil + compost (M3) is better to give  generative result of melon. The concentration of the plant growth regulator Dekamon give highly significant effect to diameter rods at the age 26 dap, height of plant at the age 26 dap and number of leafes 16 dap. At concentration of 0,20 ml L-1 (K2) give better results to on height of plant, diameter rods and number of leafes per plant but concentration of 0,30 ml L -1 (K4) is better to give generative result of melon.

Abstract

Ultisols have morphological characteristics, physical and chemical soil. It is necessary to study the characteristics of Ultisol in PT. Perkebunan Nusantara I (Persero) Cot Girek North Aceh Regency. The methode used descriptive quantitative survey methods. The study states that the structure of the soil in the study area tend to belong to the group of angular blocky. Soil consistency ranged from slightly tacky to the plastic. The texture of the clay causes consistency becomes more closely at the upper horizon and not easily destroyed (plastic) on the bottom horizon. Relatively high value of bulk density (1.31 g cm3-1 to 1.48 g cm3-1), permeability is slow (0.25 cm hr-1 to 0.51 cm hr-1), so that the soil porosity is less good. Land in the study area react sour, the cation exchanged capacity  value is low to moderate (11 me 100g-1 to 37 me 100g-1). N-total classified as moderate to very low (0.05% to 0.30%), available P was low (0.73 ppm to 4.08 ppm), the contents of Al and H is high enough so that the low fertility rate.

Abstract

This study was aimed at determining kinds of soil amendements that increase fertility on peat soil.  The research was conducted in Soil Chemistry Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam Banda Aceh from December 2013 to March 2014.  The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 8 treatments and three replications. Kinds of soil amandements evaluated were: control, mineral soil, sawdust, lime, mineral soil + sawdust, mineral soil + lime, sawdust + lime, sawdust + lime+ mineral soil.  The result showed that the amendements increased pH(H2O), P-available, base saturation and decreased Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Sawdust + lime had the highest ability to increased P-avaiable. Lime had the highest ability to increased base saturation. Sawdust + mineral soil had the highest ability to decreased CEC.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of biocontrol agents rizobakteri candidate against seed-borne pathogens colony growth in vitro of red chili and rizobakteri effect on seed germination of two varieties of chili. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Seed Science and Technology Studies Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of Syiah Kuala. Research conducted two phases. (I) Using a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial are 16 types rizobakteri (A. suis, Actinobacter sp, Azotobacter sp, Azotobacter sp, sp Necercia, P. capacia, B. megaterium, P. dimuta, B. bodius, B . laterophorus, B. larvae, B. alvae, Flavobacterium sp, B. coagulans, B. firmus, B. polymixa, B. lichiniformis, B. stearothermophilius) tested against pathogens (P. capsici, C. capsici, F. oxysporum , Phytium, pR. solani and S. rolfsii) by measuring the distance between the edge of the colony of pathogens and rizobakteri. (II) Using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial design. Factors studied varieties of pepper plants (PM 999, Arena) and the type isolates rizobakteri (A. suis, Azotobacter sp, P. capacia, B. stearothermophilius, B. bodius). The benchmarks were observed maximum growth potential, percentage of germination, index of vigor, relative growth rate, simultaneity grow, and required time to reach 50% total of relative germination (T50). The test results (i) there is an effective biocontrol agent inhibits 6 types of pathogens that isolates B. bodius. Test results (II) seed treatment with rizobakteri able to improve the viability and vigor in comparison with no treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of saponin and betel nut powder on mortality snails and safety of aquatic biota. The design used in this study is a non-factorial completely randomized design that Consist 10 treatments with 3 replications, so there are 30 experimental units. Variables measured included: 1). The percentage rate of consumption of snails, 2). Mortality of snails, 3). Time of death snails, 4). Mortality catfish,  5). Time of death catfish. Based on the observations of all variables that include the percentage rate of consumption of snails, snails mortality, time of death snails, catfish mortality, time of death catfish can be said that the use of saponins and betel nut powder at the lowest dose has caused mortality of snails up to 100%. While the use of saponin with doses ≥ 0.375 g tub-1 will result in the death of catfish ≥ 47.67%, while the application of betel nut powder with doses ≥ 6 g tub-1 will result in the death of catfish ≥ 43.33%. Lower its high mortality rate affecting the percentage of consumption, the average percentage of time of death.
