Abstract

Title Influence of gargle with mint (Mentha piperita) leaf water stew to pH saliva alteration  Abstract Mint (Mentha Piperita) oil contains menthol which cause cold spicy flavor. Sensation can affect the degree of acidity of saliva (pH). The degree of acidity or down low salivary reach critical pHcan lead to demineralization of the tooth causing caries process. The research objective was to determine the effect of mint leaves boiled water rinse to changes in the pHof saliva. The research used a quasi experiment. The design of this study used a pretest and posttest with control group, the observation was done 2 times before and after treatment. Data analysis method used descriptive quantitative. The study was conducted in class V SDN Asinan Bawen Semarang as many as 26 children were divided into 2 groups, 13 children mint leaves boiled water gargle and rinse with distilled water 13 children. Normality test data by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov. The results of the normality of the data showed p 0.05, which means that the data are normally distributed. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical tests pair t-test and independent T test. The results indicate that there was a description of salivary pHchanges after gargling decoction of the leaves of mint. But statistics show no effect of mint leaves boiled water rinse to changes in saliva pH.From the research results can be recommended to conduct research with material extraction method that does not damage the active substance of the material.

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the factors that influence caries process is saliva, among the food products that can enhance the acid product is milk. Salivary pH can be increased by the use of a solution of baking soda. Objective to determine differences in salivary pH between children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda rinse with mouthwash to drink milk without a solution of baking soda.Types of research using descriptive method with cross sectional approach, the research will be conducted by a quasi-experimental. The population is a fifth grade elementary school students Gedawang 02 Semarang as many as 28 people. All the population sampled, and then divided into two groups randomly, which consists of: the intervention group without baking soda as many as 14 people, and groups with baking soda mouthwash for 14 people. Quantitative analysis inferential statistical test independent t- test with 95% confidence level (α = 0.05).The results showed there were differences in the pH of saliva between milk drinking group with a solution of baking soda mouthwash and gargle solution without baking soda. The state of saliva pH children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda mouthwash on a Class V student elementary Gedawang 02 Banyumanik Semarang with an average of 7.58. While no solution of baking soda rinse average 7.32 Conclusion salivary pH significantly different between children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda rinse with mouthwash to drink milk without a solution of baking soda in a Class V student elementary Gedawang 02 Banyumanik Semarang, appropriate statistical test results independent t test with a value of (p value = 0.043), p value a. It is recommended to the students to be able to choose an alternative material that can raise the salivary pH towards the base, one of which is by rinsing with a solution of baking soda concentration of 1%. Key words : salivary pH, Milk, Baking Soda Mouthwash Solution

Abstract

ABSTRACT       An English proviciency testl to to measure a person's level of competence in the field of English language should be appropriate to the needs of graduates in the workforce. Meanwhile Indonesia stigma most people still assume that the English language proficiency test is toefl, and less familiar with the other forms of test. In fact, every standardized test functions and has different characteristics. It became the basis of researchers to carry out a study of the English language proficiency test that is appropriate for vocational education as Kemenkes Polytechnic Semarang. For that study. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of English proficiency MoH Semarang Health Polytechnic students who have been certified using a test that has been applied in the current stakeholder needs.This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Subjects in this study were polytechnic graduates Kemenkes Semarang and its stakeholders. Collecting data using two instruments, namely a questionnaire and interviews or in- depth interviews. Questionnaire data were analyzed using the criteria according heaton (1975:172). The data from in- depth interviews described in accordance with the subject 's perception of research.The study results of this showed that the debriefing English language skills during the lectures can be said to be an improvement to be used when entering the workforce. Therefore debriefing skills required more intensive form of English proficiency for students of polytechnic Kemenkes Semarang. It is also necessary to reform the system of standardization the English language to fit the needs of alumni in the world of work. Keywords : graduation, stakeholders, TOEIC, the world of work

Abstract

TITLEInfluence of biography characteristic to UKGS III coverage by dental nurse in Semarang DistrictABSTRACTIn order to realize the development of health, one of which strived through the improvement of health care facilities. Health care facilities that are directly related to the community health center. Of its services by the health center, including prevention services via UKGS. UKGS coverage is still low, with the average number of new coaching first time visit to the elementary school in one year. This situation is still below the target of 2 times per year. Coverage SD UKGS fostered selective (stage III) reached 19.7%, still below the target of 30% of the elementary schools should be doing UKGS selective (stage III). The purpose of the study to know the effect of the characteristics of a biography of UKGS III coverage by the dental nurse inSemarangdistrict.Research carried out by the non-experimental design, the category of the type of quantitative research is descriptive and explanatory study. Subjects were the entire dental nurses working in health centers inSemarangdistrict as many as 35 people. Data analysis will be performed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyzes. Bivariate analysis done by correlation testChi Squarewith a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). Ha accepted if the p value 0.05. Test the effect by using multiple logistic regression multivariate analysis with α = 0.05.The results of research on the scope UKGS III dental nurse in coaching UKBM, UKGS coverage either category III (51.4%), older age group of 19 people (54.3%), educational background dental nurse was found with SPRG categories (26, 7%). state of the working period at most dental nurse working group long term (14-28 years) of 54.3%. Results of correlation tests performed withChi Squarethere is one variable that is related: education p value = 0.005, and there are two variables that showed no association namely: age variable p value = 0.060. The test results showed the effect was no significant effect of the level of education of respondents to the coverage UKGS III in Semarang district by using multivariate logistic regression analysis obtained p value with OR = 0.017 (Exp B) = 15.11. In addition to the OR obtained (Exp B) = 15.11 can be interpreted that if there is a dental nurse who has a higher education tend to be achieved coverage UKGS III with both categories 15 times, rather than dental nurses in secondary education (SPRG). Advice to the Head of Puskesmas Semarang District Health Office to provide opportunities for dental nurses undertake further education. Abstract

ABSTRACT Rinsing solution of propolis is one of the traditional treatment efforts, to preserve and maintain oral health. Propolis contains flavonoids that have a bitter taste. Bitter taste indicates if propolis propolis has alkaline and can neutralize the acid. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of consuming solution of  propolis on salivary pH.This type of research was quasi-experimental. The research design was a pretest-posttest used the Control Group Design. The population in this study were all first year students of Nursing Department of Dental Health Polytechnic Semarang some 148 people. And large samples taken using the formula Federer, from the formulas obtained a sample of 20 students who were divided into two groups: the experimental group consumed a solution of propolis treatment and control group with distilled water consuming treatment. How to study the samples are given instruction brushing and diet foods one hour before treatment. Taking the pH of saliva before and after treatment. This study used a paired samples t-test and independent samplet-testusingSPSS.The results showed that an increase in the pH of saliva after eating propolis solution at 0.44 and there is also an increase in the pH of saliva after consuming distilled water at 0.62. Based on the paired samples t-test with a confidence level of 95%, the results obtained in the control group with p = 0.001, for p 0.05 means that there is the influence of consuming distilled water to a pH of saliva. And also the results obtained in the experimental group with p = 0.021, for p 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted, meaning that there is a solution to consume the influence of propolis on the pH of saliva. However, from the results of independent t-test trials showed no difference consume propolis solution and distilled water to a pH of saliva. Key words : Propolis solution,the pH of saliva

Abstract

ABSTRACT One cause of teeth apperance disruption is teeth discoloritation. Tooth disclorisation caused by intrinsic, extrincic and aged related factor. Several ways to change yellow teeth become white teeth. Baking soda is one of such material which can whiten teeth. Recent research aims to find 30% and 50% baking soda solution effectiveness towards teeth discolorisation.Experimental  with pre-post group design was used as research design. Baking soda solution was made with two different concentration (30 and 50%), then teeth was measured the white level with shade guide. Samples then soaked in baking soda solution for 5, 10, and 15 days. Every 5 days the teeth was re-measured the white level until 15 days.  Research results shown baking soda solution 50% is more effective to whiten teeth than baking soda solution 30%. Further research about baking soda for whiten teeth is needed. Key words : Baking Soda, soaked, tooth discoloritation

Abstract

ABSTRACT The caries disease dental and oral health problems are high in Indonesia. The cause of caries disease one of which is the bacterium Streptococcus mutans. Efforts to prevent one of them with natural ingredients that lime peel. In lime peel essential oils are substances that are useful as antibacterial and phenols contained in the essential oil can denature bacterial cell proteins. The objective of this  the effect of lime juice on the skin inhibition of Streptococcus mutans bacteria.This is a quasi experimental study (quasi-experimental). Research subjects bacterium Streptococcus mutans. The study was conducted using a concentration of 10%, 20%, 40%, and 80% respectively - each concentration done 3x treatment. The data was analyzed with parametric test using ANOVA followed by Post Hoc test.The results showed a large area of inhibition of the average juice lime peel with a 10% concentration of 7.73 mm, a 20% concentration of 9.13 mm, a 40% concentration of 10.54 mm, and the concentration of 80% by 14.23 mm. Anova  analysis showed a significant  (p 0.05)  indicates that there is an influence juice lime peel in inhibiting the growth of Streptococcus mutans.The higher of the concentration, the greater the inhibition of the bacterium Streptococcus mutans. Abstract

ABSTRACT Since a hundreds of years ago Red Betel Leaf (Piper crotatum) has been known in Indonesia as traditional medicine. Red betel Leaf contains chemical agents as such as flavonoid, polevenoland, karvakro that has antibacterial, antioxidant, antiseptic, and anti inflamatory, and essential oil that can reduce pain in the periodontal tissues. Purpose of the study is to the termine the inhibition effect of red betel leaf against  Staphylococcus aureus growth.   This study using quasi experiment because had no control group or comparison group. Design of study is with a random sample which boil the number of Red Betel Leaf and devide into there concentration  of 20%, 25% and 30%.Study result of the  showed that there is an influence of the concentration of red betel leaf as staphylococcus aureus growth resistor. Red betel leaf decoction has and influence on the concentration  of the staphylococcus aureus with 20%, of the  average total inhibition of 10.3mm, a concentration of  25% of the  average total inhibition of 12.5mm. Red betel leaf concentration  of 30% is the concentration  of the most  inflential in inhibiting staphylococcus aureus, as it shows the avarage total bacterial inhibition that most other  concentration. Key words : Red Betel Leaf (Piper crotatum), Staphylococcus aureus

Abstract

ABSTRACT The role of mother in the maintenance of oral health includes the removal of plaque and debris on the teeth that can be done every day with a toothbrush, supervise child's diet, eliminating bad habits and check their child's teeth or facilities to health facilities is a factor that plays a role in preventing caries teeth in children. Dental caries is one form of tooth decay is most often experienced by children of school age. The incidence of dental caries in primary school students in the District of Sumowono Jubelan 02 is the average def-t 8.1 and DMF-T 1.6. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the mother in the maintenance of oral health on the incidence of dental caries in first grade primary school students Jubelan 02 District of Sumowono 2014. This research is a descriptive cross sectional design research. The population in this study were for 24 student, all students in first class of Primary School of Jubelan 02 Sumowono, Semarang. Analisis is doing descriptively by cross tabulation. Measures used was a questionnaire. The results showed that all the mother's role in the maintenance of oral health is Most of the categories, but the incidence of caries included in the high category in the amount of 75%. The results showed that no influence of the mother's role in the maintenance of oral health on the incidence of caries incidence in children of primary school age.Key words :  Role Mommy, Maintenance Dental and Oral Health, Dental Caries Genesis
