Abstract

Background: The problem of dental hygiene and many encounter is dental caries and periodontal disease. These problems can be prevented through the dental health education. Literatur this review aims to generate dental health education media in the form of an application-based games to android Method: Research and Development/(RD) and quasi experimental non-randomized control group pretes and post-test design (non-equivalent control group). The result: a test of wilcoxon test on the main field shows the difference between the value of the knowledge and attitude of intervention and control group is Z:-Sig: 6.006 value 0.000 and Z: 863-4, with a value of Sig: 0.000 (value of knowledge), Z:-value of 6.412 Sig: 0.000 and Z:- 4.558 value Sig: 0.000 (attitude). Mannwhitney test showed the value of the difference between knowledge and attitudes of the intervention group and the control i.e. z:4.868 with value Sig: 0.000 and value Z: 4.641-value Sig: 0.000. Conclusion: the Game monopoly and leaflets as a dental health education media were equally effective in increasing knowledge and attitude of dental health. However, the game monopoly is more effective than leaflets.

Abstract

Background: Dental and oral health problems in primary school students are in the high category, this is because efforts to improve dental health behavior of school children are still not optimal. One effective prevention of these problems through the act of brushing your teeth diligently, thoroughly and regularly. Proper dental health education is given to primary school students in the form of media that is packaged by learning while playing. Media promotion explosion teeth box is expected to change the behavior of brushing your child's teeth. Objective: To produce a suitable and effective explosion teeth box promotion media model towards changing tooth brushing behavior among  primary school students. Methods: Research and Development (RD) and product/model trials (quasy experimental control group pretest and posttest design studies). The subjects of class III primary school students were divided into 2 groups: explosion teeth box as an intervention group and flashcard media as a control group and the duration of treatment for 10 days. The results of the model design were validated by experts. Data were tested using the interclass correlation coefficient test, shapiro-wilk, friedman, and post-hoc wilcoxon. Results: The average validation of explosion teeth box experts was 86.66 (very feasible) as a medium for the promotion of dental health in primary school students shown by the p-value (0.001). This model was effective in increasing the knowledge of brushing teeth (p=0.001) and decreasing the index debris score (p=0.001) compared to the control group. Conclusion: The application of explosion teeth box which was carried out for 10 days effectively improved the knowledge of brushing teeth in primary school students compared to the control group. Keywords: Primary school students, explosion teeth box, changing tooth brushing

Abstract

Tooth brushing programs that have been carried out in schools have not been able to change the brushing behavior of elementary school students, shown by OHI-S value = 1.3; DMF-T=1.09, def-t=1.78. Program improvement in behavioral aspects needs to be done to improve the dental health level of elementary school students. Behavioral changes are influenced by information. Information will be stored as much as 20% if delivered through visuals, 50% of the cost is delivered through audiovisual media and 70% if implemented in real practice.  Analyze the effectiveness of the audiovisual media model on tooth brushing habits of schoolchildren Method is Quasy experiment with pretest and posttest with control group design. The sample was divided into 2 groups, the audiovisual model in the intervention group, and the brushing program in the control group. The treatment was carried out for 21 days, the measurements were carried out pre-experiment, 25th and 35th days. Data were tested using the test freedman post hoc Wilcoxon, Man Whitney repeated, and Kruskal.  On the 25th-day measurement of significant changes in variable ways, long brushing teeth p0.05. At the 35th day measurement, there was a significant change in the method variable, morning brushing teeth p0.05. This model is effective against the formation of the habit of brushing teeth indicated by p0.001. Mogigu  model’s has the potential as an alternative to brush your teeth together in school so that it can be applied in the School Dental Health Business.

Abstract

Background: Bit fruit (Beta vulgaris) is plants as group of vegetables, has potencial as a source of natural dyes for food products. In dental health, a coloring agent which has contrast color with teeth is used for dental plaque identification. Disclosing solution is the most common used material for this purpose. Purpose of this study was to identify if bit fruit can substitute disclosing solution as coloring agent for plaque identification. Method: Research design was Quasi Eksperimental Research.with Posttest Only Control Group Design. Samples was 36 elementary students which divided into 2 groups. Group 1 was 18 students given disclosing solution while group 2 was given bit fruit solution. Independent t test was used to determine diferences between two groups. Result: Research results showed mean of plaque index after application of bit fruit and disclosing solution was 3,75 and 2,66 , with independent t-test resulten significancy 0,000 < 0,05. There was differences of plaque index after two group of application. Conclusion: the bit fruit was more effective to determine plaque compared to disclosing solution.

Abstract

Most pregnant women are still found lazy oral hygiene like brushing your teeth regularly and in the right way. As a result of gum tissue susceptible to infection. If the gums are attacked by germs will occur so inflamed gum infections, commonly called gingivitis (Machfoedz, 2008). There are hormonal changes during pregnancy. The study aims to determine the differences in the health status of gingival tissue in each trimester of gestation in pregnant women in health centers Bradford Brits. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, cross-sectional approach. The independent variable in this study was trimester of gestation and dependentnya variable is the health status of gingival tissue. The population in this study consisted of pregnant women the first trimester, second trimester, third trimester, amounting to 337 people. To determine the number of samples is determined as much as 10% of the population of 337 pregnant women, so that the results of the calculation, the number of 34 samples. Stratified sampling technique sampling sample is divided into levels or strata (Arikunto, 2002). Data analysis will be performed by univariate and bivariate. Bivariate test with comparative test using independent t-test. The results showed that the state of the gum tissue status in pregnant women in the first trimester is either 8 (73%), the second trimester in a bad criterion (64%), the third trimester in a bad criterion (58%). Test results with independent t-test was obtained p. value = 0.048, shows that there are differences in the incidence bermakana gingival health status in each trimester of pregnancy. Advice to pregnant women, especially for the second and third trimesters should pay more attention to the health condition of the teeth and mouth, drink water, eat it the fruit, vegetables and protein-rich meal, calories and energy. Routine dental and oral health check since the first trimester.

Abstract

Daun Binahong memiliki kandungan kimia yaitu saponin, alkaloid, polifenol dan triterpenoid yang menyebabkan adanya rasa pahit.Hal tersebut dapat merangsang kecepatan sekresi yang mempengaruhi derajat asam (pH) dalam mulut karena sistem buffer dapat menyangga dan mempertahankan pH saliva agar tetap konstan.Semakin asam suatu pH saliva maka semakin mudah terjadinya karies.Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Berkumur Larutan Daun Binahong Terhadap pH saliva Pada IbuHamilDi Desa Babadan Kabupaten SemarangJenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan Quasi experiment. Adapun cara pengambilan sampel dengan total samplingpada ibu hamil berjumlah 32 orang, dengan menggunakan test paper dental saliva pH indikator untuk mengetahui kriteria pH saliva.Analisa data menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif.Hasil yang didapatkan adanya pengaruh berkumur larutan daun binahong dengan sebelum berkumur daun binahong lebih banyak mempunyai pH saliva kriteria asam, setelah berkumur dengan daun binahong pH saliva ke arah basa.Kenaikan pH saliva setelah berkumur dapat menetralkan keadaan asam yang memicu terjadinya karies gigi. Untuk mempertahankan kesehatan gigi dan mulutdisarankan masyarakat yang memiliki gigi berlubang untuk berkumur dengan menggunakan larutan daun binahong sebagai obat kumur tradisional.

Abstract

In order to realize the development of health, oral health as an integral part of the whole human health. Pregnant women are one of the vulnerable groups care of oral health care. In the event of pregnancy, occurring patterns of change in the maintenance of oral hygiene becomes worse. These changes are caused by hormonal changes that marked the onset of nausea, vomiting, feeling of fear when brushing your teeth. The results of a preliminary study on 10 pregnant women in Sub Bintoro randomly during routine activities posyandu average values obtained OHI-S is 3.3 (poor category). It also obtained data indicating maternal knowledge about how to brush teeth still low. This study aims to determine the effect of gestational age, the level of knowledge about brushing teeth, the degree of oral hygiene in pregnant women in Sub Bintoro.This type of research is quantitative descriptive cross sectional survey research approach. The population of pregnant women Bintoro Village, District Demak, Demak which amounted to 80 people. Sampling was done Proportional stratified random sampling method, a number of 55 people. The data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative, with the Spearman rank correlation test, regression test sdan with linear regression.The results showed maternal gestational age mostly in the third trimester of 29 people (52.7%), the level of knowledge in good condition category 40 people (60.6%), the degree of oral hygiene pregnant women mostly in the category of OHI-S are 25 persons (37.9%). There is a significant relationship between the degree of knowledge of dental and oral hygiene, according to the results with the Spearman rank correlation test with CI 95% (α = 0.05), obtained p.value = 0.000. There is a significant effect on the degree of knowledge of dental and oral hygiene, according to the results of linear regression test with CI = 95% (α = 0.05), obtained p.value = 0.000. Pregnant women are advised to maintain and increase the maintenance of dental hygiene at all stages of gestation, following the extension of activities by health personnel, maintaining and improving ways of maintaining oral hygiene.

TITLEThe effect of rinse using water stew of dry bay leaf (Eugenia polyantha) toward pH salivaABSTRACT Caries is the main couse of disease of the oral cavity caused by saliva. Salivary pH acidic and  susceptible to caries. Saliva is a buffer system to maintain optimum pH in the oral cavity. To keep salivary pH balance,can do prevented by chemically and mechanically. Chemically prevention can do rising mouth with bay leaves dried because it contain essential oil 0.17 % which can stimulate secretion of saliva. Increased secretion of saliva can increasing buffer on saliva so it can in salivaincreas and tend to be alkaline. Aim to know the effect of rising mouth with water stewbay leaves dried ( eugenia polyantha ) on salivary to pH to the students of Dental Health  Departement of Semarang .Research is quantitative descriptive. Research method is quasi exsperimental with cross sectional approach. Research design one group pretest – posttest. Collection of samples in this research using by using 20 samples,The test result of paired t -test showed 0.000 0.05 that there was influence of rising mouth with water stewbay leaves dried on salivary pH. It can be concluded that rising mouth with water stew bay leaves dried can cause changes in the pH of saliva.

TITLEEducation with audio-visual and modeling methods to tooth brushing education in elementary school childrenABSTRACTThe maintenance of oral health as well as health coaching teeth, especially in children of school groups need special attention because at this age children are undergoing the process of growth and development. Previous dental state will affect the development of dental health in adulthood. Through training programs is expected to increase knowledge and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining oral health and able to participate actively in increasing efforts to maintain self. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of extension methods and audio visual demonstration of the knowledge brushing teeth.This research uses descriptive quantitative method is a method of research conducted with the main objective to create a picture or a description of a situation in an objective that has to do with the problems examined. The instrument used was the questionnaire.From the results of the study conducted by researchers in the field to the students of class V and VI Elementary School Pedalangan 02 Semarang is known that after counseling with the demonstration of the results obtained knowledge of students of class V in both categories with a score of 7 and after counseling with audio visual results obtained knowledge graders VI enter both categories with a value 6.95. It can be concluded that the extension demonstration and extension with audio visual effective for use in improving the knowledge toothbrushing on elementary school children.Key words : Counseling method of demonstration and audio visual, knowledge of  brushing teeth
