Abstract

The experimental study is aimed to find out comparison of the effect of two training methods upon skills of snatch. The training method consists of both weight and plyometric training method. This research also aimed to find out interaction between training method and balance toward skill of snatch. The balance consists of both high and low balance. This research was carried out in Faculty of Sport Science, State University of Manado, in the academic year of 2012/2013. The experimental method using factorial design 2x2. The sample consisted of 40 students divided into four groups, each consisting of 10 students. The analyzing techniques of data were two-way analyses of variance (ANOVA) and further continued by Tukey test at α= .05 level significance. The result of this research shows that (1) in general, skill of snatch using weight training method is higher than those using plyometric training method, (2) for high balance using weight training method is higher than those plyometric training method, (3) for low balance using weight training and plyometric training method are not different at α= .05 level significance, (4) there is interaction between training method and balance toward skill of weight lifting snatch.

Abstract

Gender differences and the attitudes of students towards physical activities are at times used as measures or determinants in the effectiveness and success of teaching dance as one of the many activities in Physical Education program which was found out to be beneficial to students’ total  development; physically, emotionally, mentally and socially. Hence, the belief on female dominance and stereotyping associated with dance, created a stigma among male students to engage in any dance program. The study identifies the current status of the respondents’ attitude towards dancing with emphasis on specifying the significant differences on the variables associated to the attitudes of the respondents. The descriptive method of research was employed using two hundred forty nine (249) second year College students consisted of one hundred ninety two (192) female and fifty seven (57) male students. The data in this study were obtained using a researcher-made questionnaire patterned after the Modified Fennema-Sherman questionnaire which underwent validation before its utilization. The mean and t- test used to analyze the collected data and findings revealed that differences in the attitudes of both male and female in terms of perception on teacher’s attitude, personal confidence about the subject matter, and the usefulness of the subject content were found not significant except on the subject perceived as a female domain. The conclusions and recommendations based on these findings were identified and discussed.

Abstract

The ‘sport’ in Sport for All is loose term for such disparate activities as informal recreation, leisure pursuits, play, health promotion activities as well as formal organised sport. Elite sport refers to power and performance sport and includes all those that are highly organised and competitive. Neither Sport for All, nor elite sport, is the substitute for a nation public leisure policy. Governments may have grounded their policies in very different legitimations, which may generate subtle yet telling differences in policy implementation. Leisure policy should not be on the number of gold medals our competitors can win, but rather on the inspiration and impetus their success gives to the citizens of our nation for mass participation in physical activity in all age groups and at all levels of ability.

Motivation to learn is divided into two parts, high and low. This research was conducted in the Prodi Health Physical Education and Recreation, FKIP Mulawarman University, the academic year 2015/2016. Experimental method using a 2x3 factorial design. The sample consisted of 60 students were divided into six groups, each consisting of 10 mahsiswa. The data analysis technique is a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukeys test at a significance level α = 0:05. The results of this study indicate that (1). Teaching methods massed practice the higher the effect of learning methods distributed practice against football ability precepts in the game sepaktakraw, (2) learning methods massed practice lower influence of learning methods combined (mixed) against football ability precepts in the game sepaktakraw, (3) Methods of learning distributed practice lower influence of learning methods combined (mixed) against football ability precepts in the game sepaktakraw, (4) There is interaction between the learning methods massed practice, learning methods distributed practice, learning methods combined (mixed) and the motivation to learn the football ability precepts in game sepaktakraw, (5) teaching methods massed practice higher learning methods distributed practice against football ability precepts in the game sepaktakraw on group learning motivation high, (6) Methods of learning massed practice lower than learning methods distributed practice against football ability sila in the game sepaktakraw on group learning motivation high, (7) learning methods of distributed practice is lower than learning methods combined (mixed) against football ability precepts in the game sepaktakraw on group learning motivation high, (8) teaching methods massed practice higher learning methods distributed practice the football ability precepts in the game sepaktakraw in the group of low learning motivation, (9) teaching methods massed practice lower than learning methods distributed practice against football ability precepts in the game sepaktakraw in the group of low learning motivation, and (10) learning methods of distributed practice lower of learning methods combined (mixed) against the precepts football ability in the game sepaktakraw group low learning motivation.
