The whole community can participate in agricultural development if the agricultural development program can be communicated according to regional conditions. The method used in this study is the Mix Method, which is a collaboration between quantitative and qualitative methods using a sequential explanatory model design where the first order uses quantitative methods, and the second uses qualitative methods. The population in this study were corn farmers who were members of the Corn Plant Upsus program in Insana District, TTU Regency, amounting to 270 farmers. the method of determining the size of the sample is calculated using the Slovin formula as many as 161 respondents. The primary data collection method is through a questionnaire that has been prepared in August-December 2019. Secondary data collection is carried out by collecting data from the Agriculture Service, BPS and related agencies. The analytical technique used in this study uses descriptive analysis, Miles and Hubermann analysis and Nvivo 12 analysis. The results of the analysis show that the characteristics of farmers (age is in the adult category, formal education, non-formal education is in the low category, farmer experience is in the high category, while broad In general, farmers are aware that there are government policies, institutions that provide capital, and the role of farmer groups but have not been utilized due to limited information that is less accessible to farmers.

Abstract

Integrated crops-livestock systems is a farming concept that consists of several subsystems. The purpose of this study was to analyze the socio-economic factors of farmers that influence farmers' decision making in using an integrated farming pattern that produces optimally. The research method was a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis. Determination of research respondents was done by "random sampling", where the respondents used in this study were 68 respondents. East Lombok Regency. The results showed that the variables that had a significant effect on the decision to apply the optimal pattern in integrated crop-livestock farming were the variables of land area, capital, number of workers and income. While the variables that have no effect are education, age, experience of plant farming and experience of livestock farming.

Abstract

Indonesia as a rubber producer has a land area of 3,246.13 thousand hectares and production of 3.33 million tons in 2019. Compared to other rubber producing countries, Indonesia still has a low level of productivity. However, Indonesia is still not displaced from the second position in the world market. Indonesia's rubber productivity per year is only 1.08 tons/ha, while Thailand is 1.8 tons/ha and Malaysia 1,5 tons/ha. Rubber as an industrial material requires good quality assurance, so the plantation will try to carry out more intensive quality control in material, processes or final processes. The role of quality control is important to maintain good quality, so that the image of Indonesia will increase and compete in the world market. The research objectives are 1) to analyze the process of controlling products, 2) to analyze the number of defects in sheets that are still acceptable and 3) to analyze the total cost of optimal quality of products. The results showed that the quality control was based on international trade standards and the amount of damage to sheet rubber was 21.10%. Based on the control chart, product rejection caused by imperfect rubber processing resulted in non-standard color and bubbles. Total defective products through Kaoru Ishikawa's quality control is 6,485.50 kg per year, while the Statistical Quality Control has a small difference of 126.50 kg per year, or not significant.

This study uses primary data and secondary data, and analyzed by descriptive method. Based on the results of the study concluded; 1) the average income from biopharmaceutical farming is IDR74,504,744/year, the average income from non-biopharmaceutical farming is IDR5,137,692/year and the average income outside of farming is IDR7,496,667/year; 2) farm income of biopharmaceuticals contributed 84.1% to the total income of family farmers, non-biopharmaceutical farm income contributed 5.9%, non-farm income contributed 10% to the total income of farming families. In increasing the income of biopharmaceutical crop farming, it is recommended; 1) so that farmers join farmer groups so that they can easily access seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides/drugs; 2) so that the Agricultural Extension Center of Subdistrict of Dolok Masagal actively provides counseling to farmers for the development of better biopharmaceutical farming; 3) that local governments partner with medicinal plant processing companies to ensure price stability during the harvest season.
