Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of knowing an Islamic great day calendar on AD calendar. It was intended to answer the question: How to design converter Hijri calendar to AD calendar for determining Islamic great days using Matlab? The research used ‘design’ method, because it was one of activities to translate the result of analysis to software form and also used to develop an existing application. This application made by a Matlab software. Matlab was a conversion tool to determine Islamic great days. Data of this research was obtained from questionnaire. And all the questionnaire datum was used to design application. The technique of feasibility analysis application was obtained from a validation. It was using black-box method. The result showed that the application was made by three ways: First, making an appearance in GUI Matlab appropriate with interface design application. Second, entering the script in each menu of application. Third, entering JD formula in application that were already functioning. ©2016 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. All rights reserved.

Abstract

The ellips space E has been constructed as cartesian product R+ × R+ × [ π 2 , π 2 ]. Its elements, (a, b, θ), is called as an ellipse with eccentricity is = p1 − b2/a2 if b < a and is = p1 − a2/b2 if a > b. The points (a, b, π/2) is equal to (b, a, 0). The action of subgrup SOoz(3, 1) of Lorentz group SOo(3, 1), containing Lorentz transformations on x−y plane and rotations about z axes, on E is defined as Lorentz transformation or rotation transformation of points in an ellipse. The action is effective since there are no rigid points in E. The action is also not free and transitive. These properties means that Lorentz transformations change any ellips into another ellips. Although mathematically we can move from an ellipse to another one with the bigger eccentrity but it is imposible physically. This is occured because we donot include the speed parameter into the definition of an ellipse in E.

Abstract

There are several hazardous material compounds in water morning glory that cannot be consumed. This study aimed to Fe content in water morning glory taken from different locations using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. The data were acquired through documentation method, observational method and experimental method. All of the data were analysed by quantitative approach and descriptive analysis. The number of samples taken was 3 pieces of water morning glory per location. From the AAS method, the results showed that Fe concentrations in all samples varied. The average of Fe content in water taken from Industrial area was 0,258 ppm, from green house was 0 ppm, and from rural area was 0,175 ppm. The numbers of Fe content in water morning glory taken from industrial area were 10,78 ppm, 9,0 ppm, 9,3 ppm; from green house were 1,9 ppm, 4,4 ppm, 2,4 ppm; and from rural area were 6,4 ppm, 4,94 ppm, 4,98 ppm. The results of the study showed that Fe content in water or water morning glory taken from green house and rural area was below the threshold level of metal contamination, meanwhile in industrial area, the Fe content was almost approaching the threshold level of metal contamination. In the industrial area, the water morning glory could be used to reduce water pollution, not as food sources because of the high content of Fe. Meanwhile, in green house and rural area, water morning glory might be consumed by people because of the low content of Fe. © 2015 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. All rights reserved.

Abstract

As the biggest Moslem population in the world, Indonesia still has a high dependency on importing date palms from other countries. Ajwa dates (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is one of special date palm cultivar which had cultivated since 5000 BC in arid climate area in Saudi Arabia. Adaptation and optimation of environmental factors for Ajwa dates cultivation in Indonesia are important to be conducted to meet the date palm demand of this country. A study on anatomical responses of Ajwa dates sprouts to water availability and light intensity has been conducted. Ajwa date sprouts had been exposed to combinations of three shade variations (0%, 50%, and 90% shade) and four water availability variations (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the field capacity).  Data were taken from day 0 until day 45 of germination. Morphological parameters which observed and analyzed were the leaf blade length and sprouts root length. Anatomical parameters which observed and analyzed were root radius, stele diameter, leaves numbers, leaves thickness, and stomatal diameter. Variations on water availability and light intensity gave the same effect (not significantly different) in almost every parameters which measured, therefore, the most optimal combination water-light treatment was still unknown. Advanced research and longer duration of experiment need to be conducted to gain the complete information regarding the optimization of environmental factors to increase the Ajwa date productivity in Indonesia.

Abstract

Waste newspaper by most people still considered as waste that has not been used optimally, and it is the one of processed materials from wood which has lignocellulose. The material has the potential to produce particle board to test the value of thermal conductivity, which it is expected to be used as heat insulator. The process of producing particle board is by mixing 450 grams pureed newspaper with 260 grams PVAC, then print it with size (12x7)cm2 with the thickness of 0.5cm; 1 cm; 1.5 cm; 2 cm; 2.5 cm; 3 cm. The process to make particle board drying is for 5 days and the test of thermal conductivity using a 100 watt heat source, and an infrared thermometer. The result obtained from the value of thermal conductivity from newspaper particle board is when more higher value of particle board thickness then more higher the thermal conductivity value. From these result it can be concluded that the particle board which can be used as heat insulation material is the one that has a thermal conductivity value of 0.066 W/ mC; 0.125 W/ mC; 0.0167 W/ mC with thickness range of 1 cm to 2 cm.©2017 JNSMR UIN Walisongo.
