Abstract

Multicultural Sufism Education developed by Sunan Kudus is based on the basic values of Islamic teachings that developed in the world of Sufism which then developed through the syncretic integration between the teachings of Islamic Sufism and the spiritual teachings developed in Hinduism and Buddhism that first developed in Kudus. The Walisongo scholars, including Sunan Kudus, in practicing Islamic da'wah mostly use the Sufism approach, making it readily accepted by Hindu and Buddhist communities. Multicultural Sufism Education is done by Sunan Kudus, remembering that in carrying out Islamic mission Sunan Kudus is also renowned as a harmonious and pluralist Walisongo cleric, and adopted many traditions of Hindu and Buddhist society which have long developed in Kudus. For Sunan Kudus, as long as the Hindu and Buddhist traditions are not contrary to the basic teachings of Islam, they can be adopted as part of the next Islamic tradition. In its development, Sunan Kudus's multicultural education of Sufism became the basis for the development of Islamic Nusantara education. Islamic Nusantara Education is built and is based on the teachings of Walisongo scholars. Islamic Education Archipelago is an Islamic education that put forward pluralist values, harmonious and inclusive. For this reason, Islamic Nusantara education is believed to be able to build a civilization of Indonesia and a harmonious and pluralist world.

Abstract

The Junaidi al-Baghdadi (Junaidiyah) is the Sufi order which center of development locates in Palangka Raya. Shaikh Kasyful Anwar Firdaus brought it to his homeland, South Kalimantan, after his studying in the Holy City. In 1997 Shaikh Muhammad Qurtubi, his successor, moved the center to Palangka Raya. Since then the Sufi order relaviely quicly spread accross the island. Unfortunately there is very little attention from the researchers to this order and no single research on its presecence in Palangka Raya. This article tries to trace the story of its coming to the city and its development after the death of Shaikh Qurtubi. This qualitative research will be conducted with the descriptive approach.

Abstract

This paper is the result of the author's research in 2016. The data is explored by interviews, observations, and Forum Group Discussion authors with research objects, namely 3 Father / Pastor under the auspices of the Holy Parish. The purpose of this research is to add to the knowledge of the reader that Romo who was educated in the seminary (special institute of Romo printers) lived a simple life, like the Sufis in Islam. The simplicity is because before being ordained, Romo promised before the archdiocese to carry out three things, namely celibacy (not married / not married forever), living in poverty, and obedient leadership. This is when associated harfiyah the meaning of Sufism includes ahl al-suffah (life in poor condition). The three vows truly became the breath of life of Father. Seminary as a formal educational institution specifically facilitating Catholic programs to be educated as Pastor / Father does not mean that all Seminary students become Father. There are those who drop out or finish their education not ready to be ordained to run other professions. That is because being a priest is only because of the heart's calling.

Abstract

Suhrawardi built his philosophical thinking with the spirit of combining “intuition-mystical vision” with “rational-philosophical vision”. The combination of “intuition-mystic and rational-philosophical vision” is known as "hikmah al-Isyraq". The concept of Wisdom al-Isyraq is the second school of thought in Islamic Philosophy. This paper is a study of Suhrawardi's Sufistic philosophy with a historical and philosophical approach. The historical approach is used to review the thought settings that influence Suhrawardi's thoughts from the historical point of view of previous Islamic thought. In addition, a philosophical approach is also used to analyze documentary data in a fundamental, integral, and systematic manner with the descriptive-analysis method. The purpose of this paper is to trace the basic thinking of the concept of "Hikmatul Isyraq" Suhrawardi from the point of view of Sufistic philosophy. The findings of this study indicate that there are five sources of Isyraq Suhrawardi's thoughts: first, Sufism thoughts, especially al-Hallaj and al-Ghazali. Second, the thinking of Paripatetik Islamic Philosophy, especially Ibn Sina, which is considered important to understand Isyraqi's teachings. Third, philosophical thinking before Islam, namely the flow of Pytagoras, Platonism, and Hermenism. Fourth, the thought (wisdom) of ancient Persia which he considered to be the direct heir of the wisdom of the Prophet Idris As. (Hermes). Fifth, the teachings of Zoroaster, especially in using the symbol "light" and "darkness".

Abstract

This paper seeks to depict a reciprocal dialogue between the religious gathering of Sufism that is typical with piety and the social activities in the coffeehouse given to take pleasure and leisure occurring in one place in Yogyakarta. This depiction intends for reconsidering deeply how Sufism influences to society. Despite the gathering going on weekly, the everyday life of coffeehouse society from January to July in 2018 will present here to support the picture of dialogue. In result, there is a change of social formation in the coffeehouse by virtue of an encounter between piety and pleasure and leisure. However, this change is not as simply as Misbah (Misbah, 2018b) sketch before consisting of followers (Jama’ah), coffee drinkers, and visitors. It is due to the main characteristics of coffeehouse society that tends to be freely from what social status is, thereby becoming difficult enough to formulate precisely. Of this, there is thus a question in relation with what the harmonious landscape in coffeehouse described by Misbah (Misbah, 2018b) is completely generated from Sufism or a product of the social life of coffeehouse.

Abstract

Al-qur’an adalah sumber ajaran dan petunjuk untuk mengatur segala aspek kehidupan manusia. Al-Qur’an berisi  hal-hal yang bersifat global. Karena itulah, dibutuhkan suatu penafsiran. Tafsir adalah suatu aktifitas penjelasan ayat-ayat al-Qur’an sesuai kehendak Allah SWT. menurut kadar kemampuan manusia.Oleh karena itu, usaha penafsiran muncul  dengan berbagai metode, mulai dari tahlili, ijmāli, muqāran, mauḍū’i sampaihermeneutika.Kitab tafsir karya al-Sulami ini mempunyai spesifikasi dibanding yang lain. Keunikan tafsir al-Sulami ini terletak, pada semua ayat-ayat yang dipahami melalui isyarat-isyarat. Hal inilah yang mendorong peneliti untuk menelaah kitab tafsir tersebut. Artikel inimngemukakan dua metode penafsiran al-Sulamiyaitu: metode “al-Istidlāl bi al-Syāhid ala al-Gā’ib” dan metode menangkap pesan utama (magza) dari suatu ayat. Metode al-Istidlāl bi al-Syāhid ‘ala al-Gā’ib adalah pengiasan sesuatu yang bersifat kongkrit dengan yang abstrak atau membawa makna dhahir ke makna  batin. Sedang yang dimaksud menangkap pesan utama suatu ayat adalah pemaknaan ayat yang tidak secara tekstual akan tetapi dipahami dari kandungan ayat. Untuk mencapai kompetensi al-Istidlāl bi al-Syāhid ‘ala al-Gā’ib dan kompetensi menangkap pesan utama ayat harus ada upaya penjernihan batin, menjahui kesombongan, meninggalkan kebiasaan berdosa, penghayatan dan konsentrasi ketika membaca al-Qur’an, yaitu dengan melalui tadabbur, taŹakkur, tafakkur, tayaqquẕdan huḍūr al-Qalb.Ketika menafsirkan ayat al-Qur’an, al-Sulami lebih banyak merujuk pada pendapat ahli tasawuf yang terkenal seperti: Ibnu Atha’, Ahmad Sahal al-Tustari, Ja’far al-Shadiq dan Junaid al-Baghdadi. Gagasan  asli dari al-Sulami sangat minim. Pendapat tokoh-tokoh sufi ini mempengaruhi al-Sulami dalam hal penyelarasan antara syari’at dan hakikat. Ayat-ayat al-Qur’an yang ditafsirkan secara isyāri mencakup pada berbagai bidang: keimanan, hukum, akhlak, kishah, sosial, dan ayat-ayatkauniyah atau ayat kealaman.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal that the Tarekat in organizational review will develop rapidly if it is led by a Mursyid who has a transformative modernist role. This qualitative research was conducted using a phenomenological approach, participant observation approach and descriptive analysis. The results of the study reveal that TQN Suryalaya has modernist Sufi figures, namely the first Mursyid of TQN Suryalaya Abah Sepuh (Shaykh Abdullah Mubarok Bin Nur Muhammad) then followed by the second Murshid Abah Anom (Shaykh Ahmad Shohibul Wafa Tajul 'Airifn). Through these two Mursyids, it was found that the form of modernization typical of Sufis apart from in the field of ritual worship which is of course the main key, but furthermore has a role in transforming the quality of society towards a better direction in three fields: First, the field of education in the form of formal institutions in the field of basic education, secondary, and college. Second, in the field of Economics in the form of collaboration between Islamic boarding schools and SMEs in the surrounding community. The third is in the field of the environment in the form of nature conservation, irrigation technology, and plantations.

Abstract

Sufistic jurisprudence is a religious style that is not biased, meaning that seeing worship both physically and mentally is equally important. Al Ghazali is considered a cleric who is very instrumental in the development of Sufistic jurisprudence in the Islamic world, and his thoughts have been brought by the spreaders of Islam to the archipelago. KHR. Asnawi ulama from Kudus can also be called one of the scholars who followed in the footsteps of the Hujjatul Islam in conducting a study of Sufistic jurisprudence. Sufistic jurisprudence is a way that can be used to build moderate ways of thinking, so that generations of milinarians are not trapped in instant ways of thinking without holistic reflection. This study uses primary sources of Kitab Fashalatan KHR. Asnawi, while secondary sources are the Sufi books of the Salaf and Khalaf scholars. In the book of Fashalatan it is seen that the book that discusses this prayer contains the values of Sufism that can lead us to face problems in the 21st century.

Abstract

Salah satu tokoh sufi dalam sejarah pemikiran Islam adalah Imam al-Ghazali.Beliau dikenal sebagai orang yang pada mulanya syakk (ragu-ragu) terhadap segala-galanya. Perasaan syakk ini kelihatannya timbul dalam dirinya dari pelajaran ilmu kalam atau teologi yang diperolehnya dari al-Juwaini. Setelah al-Ghazali, melalui pengembaraannya mencari kebenaran akhirnya memilih jalan tasawuf. Menurutnya, para sufilah pencari kebenaran yang paling hakiki. Lebih jauh lagi, menurutnya, jalan para sufi adalah paduan ilmu dengan amal, sementara sebagai buahnya adalah moralitas. Menurutnya, ada beberapa jenjang (maqamat) yang harus dilalui oleh seorang calon sufi, diantaranya: tobat, sabar, kefakiran, zuhud,  tawakal, dan  makrifat. Selanjutnya, ia membagi manusia ke dalam tiga golongan, yaitu sebagai berikut: pertama, kaum awam, yang cara berfikirnya sederhana sekali. Kedua, kaum pilihan (khawas; elect) yang akalnya tajam dan berfikir secara mendalam. Ketiga, kaum ahli debat (ahl al-jadl). Adapun tentang kebahagiaan, al-Ghazali berpendapat bahwa kebahagiaan adalah tujuan akhir jalan para sufi, sebagai buah pengenalan terhadap Allah. Melalui pemikiran tasawufnya, al-Ghazali telah mengubah atau paling tidak telah berusaha merubah istilah-istilah yang sulit menjadi mudah bagi pemahaman orang awam. Melalui pendekatan sufistik, al-Ghazali berupaya mengembalikan Islam kepada sumber fundamental dan historis serta memberikan suatu tempat kehidupan emosional keagamaan (esoterik) dalam sistemnya.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to find out how the collaboration of Sufistic Psychotherapy with the traditional sleepy suwuk jowo in the process of treating schizophrenia. Weak faith is the main factor causing schizophrenia for religious people in dealing with life's problems. The distance from the Creator will be brought closer again through the teachings of Sufism in the form of soul processing with all forms of worship rituals. Traditional medicine in this paper is to drink herbal medicine made of selected spices as an intermediary for treatment. In addition to the Sufistic psychotherapy that is used is bathing repentance, prayer, dzikir, reading the al-Qur'an, praying, and belief in God who gives healing physically and spiritually. This study is a qualitative field with the object of research at the Darul Kailani Adhiya 'Ullami' Islamic Boarding School Tawangharjo Grobogan. Data generated from therapist interviews, observations, and supported by related reference books. The findings show that the collaboration of Sufistic psychotherapy with Jowo traditional suwuk sleep can be an alternative treatment for schizophrenic clients.
