Abstract

The study was conducted to identify the implementation of supervision on the pasteurized milk product quality and to explore the result of supervision on the cup packaged chocolate and strawberry flavor milk quality. The method utilized in this research was descriptive method. Data analyzed was time series, one obtained from MT-KPBS Pangalengan Bandung. Analysis method exploited were p-chart and multiple linear regression method. Result indicated that fresh milk collected at MT-KPBS Pangalengan Bandung contained higher fat content compared with standard quality condition that MT-KPBS stated. Quality supervision that MT-KPB implemented involved supervisions on raw material quality and product quality. Pasteurization milk was bad and defects with both chocolate and strawberry flavor were located between upper controlled limit (UCL) and lower controlled limit (LCL). This indicated that the defect occurred is still at under control limit. Laboratory and packaging personnel are not significantly affected to the defect of chocolate and strawberry flavor pasteurizedmilk

Abstract

This research aimed to analyse dualism between plasm farmers and nucleus estate in the Tea Local Nucleus Estate Smallholder Scheme at Java. The study is conducted in West and Center of Java Provinces. Data of 330 household samples are analyzed by Proportion Test.Although most of plasm fanners have the technical cropping and the use of input and labour are lower than nucleus estate, but the gapa on productivity, product quality, income of tea farming, and fanning efficiency are small. There is still dualism in the Tea Local Nucleus Estate Smallholder Scheme at Java, but it tends to decline. This gap become smaller between Smallholder Scheme could make smaller distance between smallholder plantation and estate.

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to determine factors that influence the demand of spesial fishery product in Yogyakarta Spesial Region Province. This experiment was used freshwater catfish and tuna small fish as object of experiment. Factors involved in demand function of tuna small fish in Yogyakarta Special Region Province are own price, freshwater catfish price, rice price, soybean price, cooking oil price, chicken price, egg chicken price, goat meat price, income percapita, inhabitant of Yogyakarta Spesial Region Province, dummy variable (0=non crisis period, 1=crisis peeriod) and freshwater fish price. Factors were analyze demand function of freshwater catfish are own price, tuna small price, rice price, soybean price, cooking oil price, chicken price, egg chicken price, goat meat price, inhabitant Yogyakarta Spesial Region Province, income percapita, dummy variable (0=non crisis period, 1=crisis peeriod) and freshwater fish price The conclusion result taken out from this study may contribute fishers a contructive information to become a base of opinion on demand of fishery product in Yogyakarta Spesial Region Province. It use secondary time series datas, datas taken from the the fishery service statistic of the Yogyakarta Spesial Region Province and Biro of Statistic Center Yogyakarta Spesial Region Province, datas which are produced along the period 1980-2000. Analyze model applied here is the demand function expressed in ordinary least square (OLS) by natural logarithm (ln). The conclusion result shown that the function demand of tuna small fish was significantly influence by own price, freshwater catfish, and cooking oil price while freshwater fish, chicken meat price, chicken egg price, rice price, income percapita and dummy variabel are not influence demand function of tuna small fish significantly. Cross elasticity of freshwater catfish and cooking oil are positive so freshwater catfish and cooking oil are subtitute to tuna small fish. The conclusion result shown that the demand function of freshwater catfish was significantly influence by own price, tuna small fish price, chicken meat price, goat meat price and chicken egg price while the others factors i.e cooking oil price, soybean price, inhabitant Yogyakarta Spesial Region Province, income percapita and dummy variable are not significantly influence the demand function of freshwater catfish. Cross elasticity of chicken meat, goat meat, chicken egg, and tuna small fish are positive so chicken meat, goat meat, chicken egg, and tuna small fish are subtitute to freshwater catfish.

Abstract

Policies change in 1998 influenced Java sugar industry's existence because there was no more obligation to plant sugarcane. This study aims to identify (1) existing sugarcane procurement by the industry, (2) the profitability, in private as well as social prices, of sugarcane farming system as the industry's supplier, and (3) sensitivity analysis on relevant sugar dynamics. The study was conducted on five industry samples spread over Java. The primary data for profitability analysis covered 300 units originated from 185 farmers and 115 industry's plantation units in a proportional spreading. The finding exhibits three alternatives of procurement: (1) partnership with farmers based on minimum return on land, (2) partnership with farmers as the industry provides assistance, and (3) purchasing sugar from free farmers. Using data in 2002, only two samples were financially profitable,-those were east part and west part of Java, while the only region gained social profit was the east part. In spite of that, if social price of sugar using relevant foreign production costs instead of CIE Java has its comparativeadvantage. Sensitivity analysis resulted in Java will achieve financial profit if sugar price rises by 10 percent, or productivity rises by 15 percent, or tariff of 50 percent imposes.

Abstract

Shifting of income source transmigrant farmer in the tidal swamp from rice and palawija to non-rice happened for along time in some resettlement location in Indonesia. This ferwmenon began in 1975, in Centre Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Jambi, South Sumatera and Riau. This problem related with constraints of low land productivity, limited labour and some problem about pests of crop. The effort of transmigrant farmer was: (1) to change some kinds of crops and cropping pattern; (2) out of tidal swamp area orientation (non farmadditional income). The objective. of this research is (1) to identify the shifting of income source of tidal swamp transmigrant farmer in Indragiri Hilir regency; (2) to analyze factors affecting the shift of the source of income in the tidal swamp. The research area is in the Indragiri Hilir regency where two districts were purposively taken and two villages from recorde data from various institution. The, Result is (1) there are shifting of income source of tidal swamp transmigrant farmer in Indragiri' Hilir, from food crop (95,63 % on 1975) to estate 'crop (53,96 % on 2002). The shifting began since 1993 and continued up to 2002; (2) Factors to influencing the source of income of estate crop is capital, farmer education, wife education, household labour, used fertilizer (TSP, KC1), lime, herbicide, pesticide and transmigrant group.Factors influencing the source of income of food crop is farmer education, household labour, used fertilizer (TSP, Ka) and pesticide.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyses the allocation of farmer household resources in tidal swamp area. The survey method was used to collect farmer data located in tidal swamps land villages with acid sulphate land, peatyland,. and potential land typologies in South Kalimantan. Quantitative analysis of data was carried out using linear programming model and sensitivity analysis, utilizing the BLPX 88 program. The findings of the analysis showed that villages allocated resources differently with the implication that incomes earned by the villages differed from one village to the other. However, it was found out too that optimal solution showed the need for the continuation of rice growing in the areas. Farmers who were located in potential areas where tangerine were grown produce higher incomes than the other two villages. To replicate the cropping pattern farmers in potential land in acid sulphate land and peatyland, resulted into a drastic increase in income earned by farmers
