Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze and compare the cost, profit, and risk of monoculture and polyculture fisheries system in Pangkep Regency. The sample collection uses the snowball sampling method. There are 80 fish farmers who were interviewed in this research. The cost and income is analyzed by income analysis, while to measure the level of business risk, Coefficients Variation (CV) analysis is used. To test the hypothesis, analysis of z distribution test is used. The research results show that the fishing cost and income of polyculture system is larger than monoculture system, where the cost of each is Rp 14.722.597 and Rp 13.191.880 respectively, while their profit is Rp 10.285.066 and Rp 6.710.486 each. Polyculture system has cost risk, revenue risk and profit risk is lower than monoculture system with large value of Coefficients Variation (CV) each by 0,11; 0,29 and 0,56 for polyculture system and 0.12; 0,37 and 0,88 for monoculture system. The results of the hypothesis showed that there is difference in cost of, revenue, and profit between poliyculture and monoculture system while there is no significance difference for cost risk, revenue risk and profit risk.

Abstract

The occurrence of climate change disrupts the productivity of paddy in Indonesia. Disruption of the paddy’s production has an impact on the availability of foodstuffs, considering paddy as staple food Indonesia society. This study aims to analyze the impact of climate change on productivity of paddy in the central acreage of paddy in period 1974-2015 by using four different climate variables. The data used are secondary data collected from Agency of Central for Statistics (BPS), Ministry of Agriculture, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Estimation method using data panels with Random Effect models (REM). The results showed the productivity of paddy in Indonesia are more sensitive to changes in rainfall and maximum temperature (Tmax) compared to the average temperature (Tave) and the minimum temperature (Tmin). Increased rainfall and Tmax positively impact the productivity of paddy until a specific turning point, then after that point will give the opposite impact. As for the turning point for the precipitation of 10,177 Inc./year, while Tmax on 31,35 °C. Simple simulation results demonstrate the increase in rainfall in the upper turning point of 1 % will reduce the productivity of paddy amounted 0,00796 % ceteris peribus. While the maximum temperature rise above the turning point of 1 % will reduce the productivity of paddy as much as 0,09039% ceteris peribus.

Selection of informants using methods purposive ie businesses which process local food derived from terrestrial plant. The results showed that the meaning of efforts in the development of local food is positive as it can be an additional source of income for families, create jobs and expand social networks, but variations in the types of processed and flavor is still less diverse and less than optimal marketing. Primary and secondary stakeholders involved in the development of local food by providing assistance and motivation to constantly improve the quality and quantity of processed food products locally as well as marketing. But some stakeholders are not optimal involvement in the development of local food. The lack of optimization due to a lack of common ground between the businessmen and the stakeholders as well as between the stakeholders. Looking forward there are organizations that can coordinate and stakeholder businesses so that they can equate the views related to the development of local food and stakeholders can engage with the optimal local food  development becomes more leverage.
