Abstract

It has been made a detector of the column height of the infusion fluid using by potensiometer sensor based on AT89S52 microcontroller. This detector was compiled by potensiometer, ADC0804, microcontroller AT89S52, seven segment, buzzer, and LED. The infusion fluid that used to calibrate the potensiometer sensor and the device’s working system was Otsu-NS infusion, while the infusion fluid that used to examine the device’s working system were aminovel infusion and NaCl infusion. The results of the present research were the device has conformity between system and aminovel infusion was 99.69% and 98.75% for NaCl that gained from linear regression analysis of device’s calibration data.

Abstract

It has conducted research about the effects of UV-C irradiation to the current density of ion diffusion characteristics of chitosan membranes. A series of chitosan membranes with various ratios of components was used such as 1%, 2%, 3% and4%, the electrolyte solution was NaCl with various concentration of 0.1 mM , 1 mM, 10 mM, 100 mM, and 1000 mM, and time exposure of 5, 15, 30, and 60 minutes. Ion transport processes were carried out in a cell membrane model which composed of two compartments, and the potential difference was measured using a pair of Activon AEP calomel electrodes. All the measurements were conducted at room temperature of about 28.1oC. The result showed that the current density increased with increasing some parameters e.g. the ratio of concentration of solution in both compartments (C1/C2), the amount of chitosan (1%, 2%, 3% and4%), and exposure time.

Abstract

Bali is a potential area prone to lightning strikes because it has a tropical climate with thepossibility of rain accompanied by lightning quite high and also vulnerable because of thepopulation density is very high. These conditions threaten the safety of lives and property of thepopulation, so it is necessary to study the vulnerability of lightning strikes in Bali. For identify thelevel of vulnerability to lightning strikes used two factors, the threat factors using CG(Cloud toGround) lightning incidence data (2009-2013) and vulnerability factors using data of populationdensity and land use for homes and buildings. Two factors were analyzed using the method of SAW(Simple Additive Weighting) to obtain level of vulnerability to lightning strikes each district. Theresults of the calculations show Selemadeg Barat, Denpasar, Kuta, Pupuan, Klungkung andSelemadeg have a high level of vulnerability to lightning strikes, 27 districts are in the middlecategory and the remaining 21 districts are in the low category.

Abstract

It has been designed a homogeneous magnetic field (B) generation system in a particular room. This is important to conduct research related to the effects of magnetic field exposure on chemical reactions, especially in the process of making membranes. The development was carried out using four Helmholtz coils which radius (R) of 15 cm and number of turn (N) of 130 turns, that connected in parallel and coaxial. The both coils were fixed at the same distance as the radius of the coil that intended to get a homogeneous magnetic field between the both coils. The design has been tested by measuring a magnetic field generated as function of a current (I) given. The results show that, for x is the distance from the midpoint of the both coils to a certain distance, the homogeneous magnetic field obtained in the region of -7 cm < x <+7 cm, the area between the both coils. The magnitude of the homogeneous magnetic field produced depends on the electric current given.

Abstract

Research on the influence of El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) on climate variability in Sulawesi has been down using wavelet transform method. The data used in this research is the data from 2003 to 2011 which include data SST from satellite Aqua Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) level 3, rainfall data from satellite Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM), and data Sea Level Pressure (SLP) from Climate Prediction Centre (CPC). The data were analyzed using Fourier transform to see the high period of the anomaly SPL Nino 3.4, SOI and Sulawesi rainfall anomalies. The data also analysis using wavelet transform. From the result of wavelet transform it for obtained that the power spectrum (ps) that used to find correlation between ps ENSO indicators for ps Sulawesi rainfall anomalies. Based on the results of the research, the ENSO phenomenon is impact of climate variability in the form of heavy Sulawesi rainfall in 2010. The results of the correlation ps SST anomaly Nino 3.4 to ps Sulawesi rainfall anomalies occur significant positive correlation in the period from 1.5 to 1.6 years and 2.2 to 4.5 years, while the correlation of the ps SOI ps Sulawesi rainfall anomalies occur positive correlation significantly in the period from 1.5 to 1.6 years and 2.2 to 4.6 years.

Abstract

An automatic temperature reader has been made by using a thermocouple based on microcontroller AT89S51. The automatic temperature works in range 0°C-66°C which has 6,07% linierity. The sensors of thermocouple works by detect changes of heat, producing in difference of voltage which then will be read by microcontroller AT89S51. The detection data given, will then be send into a PC for it to be further analyzed and finally-shown. The program used for this is Visual Basic 6. The relationship of voltage and temperature is interpolasi polynomial.

Abstract

A research has been conducted to determine the variability of the albedo in Bali using MODIS BRDF MCD43A1 satellite data started from 2005 until 2012. The data used in this study is MODIS BRDF MCD43A1 data and MODIS Aerosol Optical Depth data. From MODIS BRDF MCD43A1 data, black sky and white sky albedo were calculated. The results of black sky and white sky albedo combined together and with MODISAerosol Optical Depth data to find the blue sky albedo (actual albedo), then monthly average of blue sky albedoused todetermine the spatial albedo variability in Bali. Spatial annual variability of actual albedo in Bali during 2005 – 2012 reached the highest peak in 2008 and lowest in 2010. Monthly average of actual albedo started from September-October while the lowest is in January - February. Keywords: Albedo, MODIS BRDF MCD43A1, MODIS Aerosol Optical Depth, Black Sky albedo, White Sky Albedo, Blue Sky Albedo (Actual Albedo)

Abstract

Onion (Allium ascalonicum L) Preservation With Gamma Ray Co-60.This experiment hasbeen done to find out approach optimum dose that able to resist the growing of onion bud. Theresponse that exceeded is morfology through the growing of onion bud. The onion that is used is fromThailand variety with 5 month and average weight is 4.15 gramsfor 650 pieces. 650 pieces of onionirradiated by using gamma ray Co-60 IRPASENA irradiator at PTKMR BATAN, Pasar Jumat Jakarta.Iradiation dose is varieted by 50 Gy, 100 Gy, 150 Gy, and 200 Gy. Bud onion growing exceeded anddocumented once a week, and room temperature and room humidity noted once a day. During 2months experiment have been found the result that irradiated onion with 150 Gy dose have the slowestgrowing compare to other variety dose compared by 50 Gy, 100 Gy, 150 Gy and 200 Gy.
