Abstract

Students' learning outcomes may depend on several factors. It is assumed that learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety are related to the students' learning outcomes. This research aims to know whether there is a positive and significant relationship between learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety and mathematic learning outcomes of grade VIII students in the odd semester of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi, Banjarnegara Regency, in the academic year of 2016/2017. The populations of this research are 95 students in grade VIII of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi, Banjarnegara Regency, in the academic year of 2016/2017, consisting of grade VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C. Grade VIII B students were taken as the sample through random sampling class. The data were collected using a questionnaire, which is useful to obtain the data on the learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety in mathematics. Besides, a test was also carried out to get the data on the learning outcomes in mathematics. The instrument was tested using a validity test, differential test, and reliability test. Prerequisite analysis tests include normality tests, linearity tests, and independence tests. The data were analyzed using product moment analysis and multiple linear regressions. The research findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between learning interest, parental involvement, as well as anxiety and mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students in the odd semester of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi Banjarnegara regency in the academic year of 2016/2017. It can be seen from the results showing that Fcount>Ftablethat is 10.022 > 2.95 with R = 0.7196 and R2 = 0.51780 with Y= 29.5269 + 0.5797 X1+ 0.1417 X2– 0.2878X3, with Relative Contribution X1 = 77.7748%, Relative Contribution  X2 = 9.9445%,and Relative Contribution  X3 = 12.2807%, SE X1 = 40.2718%, Effective Contribution X2 = 5.1492%, and Effective Contribution X3 = 6.2590%.

Abstract

Mathematics is a basic science that is very important and beneficial to the development of science and technology. The use of learning media based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) becomes one a tool alternative for teachers in presenting the subject of mathematics. The set subjects still considered difficult for some students. Learning media based on Macromedia Flash 8 is expected to be facilities that support learning. This research is a development that aims to produce instructional media using Macromedia Flash 8 in learning mathematics on the subject of a set of class VII SMP. This development study using the ADDIE development model that is Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Subjects were matter experts, media experts, and junior high SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta and SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique conducted qualitatively and quantitatively to calculate the results of the feasibility test score developed in instructional media. Based on the quality of every aspect of learning media, results of research-based math learning media development of mathematics learning media based on Macromedia Flash 8 is from materials experts with perfect category, an average score is 79,67, from media experts with perfect category, an average score is 105,33, and the response of students with perfect category with an average score of 66,50. Based on the assessments, then the media-based mathematics learning Macromedia Flash 8 is very feasible to use in learning.

Abstract

Mathematics learning at SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta used speech method and given questions that impact making students bored when mathematics learning. Used the wrong model to make students are challenging to develop and also to the learning outcome. So, we need the right model. The model is an MMP and cooperative learning type NHT. This research aims to find a significant difference between the use of MMP learning with the use of cooperative learning type NHT, which is better MMP learning than NHT cooperative learning to the student's mathematics learning outcome. This research population was the seventh degree of SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta consisting of ten classes and two classes as the sample with random sampling. The sample is VII B as the experiments A with MMP learning and VII D as the experiment B with cooperative learning type NHT. The research instrument used was a mathematics learning outcome, and analysis used validity, distinguishing capacity, and reliability. The data analysis used was the t-test two parties and one party. Based on the analysis of the first hypothesis test on mathematics learning outcome with a significance level of 5% and 65 degrees of freedom is obtained  so  then there is a significant difference between the use MMP learning with the use cooperative learning type NHT. The second test with a significance level of 5% and 65 degrees of freedom is obtained , so  then MMP learning better than NHT cooperative learning to the student's mathematics learning outcome.

Abstract

The model of learning mathematic who are not appealing will make the student low in learning mathematic. This research aims to increase the motivation of learning mathematics by using a learning cooperative model type STAD student in class VIII A SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman District Academic Year 2016-2017. This study is a Classroom Action Research with the subject of research class VIII A SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem. Objects in this study are the motivation to learn mathematics students after learning mathematics with the STAD type cooperative learning model. The study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two face-to-face. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and questionnaires to analyze data using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the STAD type cooperative learning model could improve the motivation of learning mathematics students of class VIII A SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman District even semester of the academic year 2016/2017. This is evident from the observation of each cycle in the first cycle of 63.400% (Good), and the second cycle increased to 84.572% (Very Good). The result of the questionnaire of student's learning motivation shows that there is an increase of motivation to learn math that is seen from the mean of the survey of student's learning motivation in cycle I get percentage 70,789% (Good) and in period II increase to 82,616% (Very Good)—similarly, the results of interviews with teachers in the field of mathematics studies. From an interview with seven students of class VIII A can be concluded most of the students at the beginning of the meeting that is on the first cycle of a student, motivation has not been seen, because students have not understood the explanation submitted by researchers using STAD type cooperative learning model but at the next meeting and on cycle II Student motivation indicates an increase.

Abstract

The availability of mathematics teaching materials in some schools, for example in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta is still short of available, especially the new teaching materials and the providing of convenience for students in learning. This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of the Module on matrix materials with the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach for Grade X Students at SMK (Vocational School). The research of module development on matrix material with Indonesian realistic mathematics education approach for grade X students at SMK follows steps Research and Development (R & D) which include: (1) potential and problem, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) product validation, (5) design revision, (6) product trial. Research subjects are material experts, media experts, and grade X students at SMK. The technique for analyzing data uses qualitative descriptive analysis, questionnaire. The results of this research consist of five main titles, and those are (1) understanding of matrix, (2) kinds of matrix, (3) addition and subtraction of matrix, (4) matrix multiplication, (5) Determinant, minor, cofactor, adjoin and inverse matrix. According to the research results, the material expert obtained an average score of 105.3 with perfect criteria, according to the effects of media experts, which scored 77 with complete rules. The student's response to a module is excellent, with an average score of 75 after experiment 1. At the same time, in a product test, it increases to score 76,8 of average with excellent criteria. The results indicate that the Module for the Grade X students at SMK on matrix material is feasible to use in the learning process.
