Abstract

Low student learning outcomes are associated with several factors, including learning of independence, the discipline of learning, and motivation to learn. This research aims to determine whether or not a positive and significant relationship independent, discipline, and motivation to learn with the results of learning mathematics lessons for the student grade VII in Muhammadiyah Junior High School 2 Gamping (SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping) Sleman district second semester in academic year 2016/2017. The population in this research comprises all of the students of grade VII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping Sleman district second semester in the academic year 2016/2017, consisting of 3 classes with a total of 108 students. The sample of this research is grade VIIC, 37 students, and the research experiment is grade VIIA which is 36 students and uses the random sampling technique to the class. The data collection technique is done by questionnaire and test method. Test of questionnaire instrument using a reliability test during the test of test instrument use validity test, a test of different power, and reliability test. Test prerequisite analysis is a test of normality, independent test, and linearity test. The data analysis for hypothesis testing using simple correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, regression analysis of three variables. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between independent, discipline, and motivation to learn with the results of learning mathematics with  =  and , so obtained . The double correlation coefficient (R) is 0,5610 with regression equation  relative contribution =23,624%, =64,488%, and 11,888%  with the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0,3147 and effective contribution  , =20,297%, and =3,742%.

Abstract

independence and learning environment are some of the factors possibly related to mathematics learning outcomes. This research aims to know about is there any positive correlation and significance or not between learning motivation, learning independence, and learning environment with mathematics learning outcomes of eight grade students of  SMP Muhammadiyah Bantul in odd semester in the academic year of  2016/2017. The population in this research was the students of VIII grade in SMP Muhammadiyah Bantul in the academic year of 2016/2017, consisted of class  VIIIA, VIIIB, VIIIC, VIIID, and VIIIE totaling 145 students. Samples were taken from VIIID as the research sample class and with the random sampling technique. The writer uses a questionnaire method to collect the data of learning motivation, learning independence, and learning environment and test methods to get the result learning of math. The research instrument: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes a test of normality, a test of linearity, and the test of independence. The writer uses product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation, learning independence, and learning environment with mathematics learning outcomes of eight grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Bantul in odd semester in the academic year of 2016/2017. It is showed by Fcount= 12,6752 and Ftable = 2,98 so Fcount  Ftable with  R = 0,7707 and R2 = 0,5939 with  = -117,6784 + 0,7637X1 + 0,5845X2 + 0,5046X3 , with SR X1 = 53,24%, SR X2 = 28,7006% and SR X3 = 18,0594%, SE X1 = 31,6199%, SE X2 = 17,0457% and SE X3 = 10,7257%.

Abstract

Base on the result of the researcher’s interview with one of the mathematics teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. The teacher claimed that some students still make the error, concept, principle, and operation to answer the circle materials' questions. This research aimed to describe what errors are done by the students and describe the mistakes most often done of the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta in doing the tasks of mathematics, in particular, that were circle materials. This research was descriptive qualitative. The researcher used a test and interview to collect data—the writer interviews with students of class VIII G of SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. The researcher used data reduction, data presentation, and taking the conclusion to analyze the data. The researcher used triangulation to check the validity of data, comparing the result of students' tests and the result of the researcher’s interview. The result of the research showed that students' ability to answer the questions was average. Nevertheless, it should be considered to cause many students who made the error. Those were: 1. Fact error (error in changing the problem into the form of a mathematical model) as much as 5.08%, 2. Concept error (getting the error in understanding mathematics concept) as much as 36,77%, 3. Principle error (getting the error in determining formula) as much as 9,10%, 4. Operation error (getting the error in calculating, mathematics notation, not write denomination, not answer the question) as much as 49,05%. The highest error which was made by students was the error in operation.

Abstract

Based on observations and interviews in Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Piyungan known that students have not known the learning style according to each student and student learns mathematics if the test will be held only. This study aims to determine whether or not a positive and significant relationship between student learning styles and intense mathematics learning with the results of learning Mathematics Students in Class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan the second semester in the Year 2017/2018. This study's population was all class VIII students, even semester classes SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan excellent school year  2017/2018, which consisted of class VIII A, VIII B and VIII C which 69 students in total. The sample was taken with a random sampling technique and derived class VIII A. Technique of data collection is done by using questionnaires to the learning style and intense of mathematic learning. While the result of learning mathematics using test instruments. Test of research instrument includes a validity test, a test of different power, and reliability test. The prerequisite analysis test includes the normality test, linearity test, and independence test. Data analysis using product moment analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between students' learning style with the results of learning Mathematics Students in Class VIII grade high school student at SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan in the second semester in the year of 2017/2018. It is announced by  or 3,1057 > 2,0796. Simple correlation coefficient (r) between student learning styles with mathematics learning result of 0,5610 with Ŷ =  -98,742 + 2,2306 X1. There was a positive and significant relationship between mathematics learning's intence with the results of learning Mathematics Students in Class VIII grade high school student at SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan in the second semester in the year of 2017/2018. It is announced by  or 3,9954 > 2,0796. The simple correlation coefficient (r) between the intence of mathematics learning with mathematics learning result of 0,6571 with  = -18,32 + 1,121 X2.  There was a positive and significant relationship between students' learning style and the intensity of mathematics learning with the results of learning Mathematics Students in Class VIII grade high school student St SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan in the second semester of the year of 2017/2018. It is announced by  that is 11,228 > 3,4900 with R = 0,727278723 and R2 = 0,5289343 40 with Ŷ = -93,430838784 + 1,368097961 X1 + 0,872373868 X2 with RC1 = 36,49% and RC2 = 63.50%. While for EC1 = 19,30% and EC2 = 33,58%.

Abstract

This research aims to know if there is a positive and significant of Relationship between Understanding Basic Concepts, Creativity Problem Solving, and Utilization of Learning Resources with Students Mathematics Learning Outcomes in Class VII in State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 1 Bambanglipuro Bantul Regency of Even Semester Academic Year of 2016/2017. The sample class in SMP Negeri 1 Bambanglipuro Bantul in 2016/2017 consists of 7 classes. A sample class is a class VII D using random sampling. Data collection instruments using an Understanding Basic Concepts test, Creativity Problem-Solving test, questionnaires Utilization of Learning Resources, and mathematics achievement test. Test research instruments used validity, different test power, and Reliability test. Analysis prerequisite test, including normality test, linearity test, and independent test. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between Understanding Basic Concepts, Creativity Problem Solving, and Learning Resources with Mathematics Learning Outcomes. The significant level of 5%, v1=3, v2=23, Fcount=4.3028 and Ftable=3,0279,Fcount> Ftable with multiple correlation coefficient of R2 = 0,3595, and multiple regression equation there variable is = -81,06 + 0,3948X1 + 1,3489X2 + 1,0474X3. Donations are relatively X1=26,8851%,  X2=37,6980%,  X3=35,4168%, with multiple determination coefficient of 0,750 and the effective contribution X1=9,6647%, X2=13,5518%, X3=12,7317%.

Abstract

Low students, the results of learning, are associated with many factors. Learning motivation, learning facilities, and learning independence are factors that have a relationship with the learning results. This study aims to determine whether or not a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation, learning facilities, and independence of learning with the results of learning mathematic students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman second Semester Teaching Year 2016/2017. The population in this study comprises students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman District second Semester of the academic year 2016/2017 consisting of 4 classes with a total of 151 students. Random sampling techniques took the experimental class and the sample class to the class. They obtained the trial class VIII A and VIII D as the sample class. The test and questionnaire method do the technique of collecting data. Test the instrument using the validity test, the test of different power, and reliability test. Test prerequisite analysis that is normality test, independent test, and linearity test. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation, learning facilities, and learning independence with mathematics learning results with Fcount = 6,7209 and Ftable = 2,8826, so that obtained Fcount> Ftable. Coefficient of double correlation (R) equal to 0,6102 and coefficient of determination (R2) equal to 0,3723 with linear regression equation that is Ŷ = 10,1472 + 0,3886X1+ 0,2961X2+ 0,1626X3. Relative contribution X1 that is equal to 59,0770%, X2 equal to 29,3821% and X3 equal to 11,5409% and effective contribution X1 equal to 21,9921%, X2 that is equal to 10,9379% and X3 that is equal to 4,2962%.

Abstract

 This research was done because the results of students' mathematics learning are still relatively low. Students are reluctant to ask about the material they have not understood that the learning outcomes obtained less optimal. This research aims to determine the results of learning mathematics using of cooperative learning model type of NHT (Numbered Heads Together) of student grade VIII at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan Sleman Regency of Even Semester in Academic Year of 2015/2016. This was design is Posttest-Only Control Design. The population in this research were students class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan Sleman Regency. Samples of this research using random sampling techniques derived from class VIII A as an experimental class and VIII C as the control class. The data collection is done with the test method. A testing instrument using a validity test and reliability test. Data were analyzed before using hypothesis testing with a t-test first using analysis prerequisite test including normality test, and homogeneity test. Based on calculations by the significant level   and the degrees of freedom 65, we concluded that: (1) There are differences in learning outcomes of students learning math using cooperative learning model type of NHT with learning using conventional learning model. This is indicated by the results of the first test of the hypothesis that  and , so that . (2) The type of cooperative learning model NHT more effective than the conventional learning model. It is shown on the second hypothesis that the test results  and , so   .

Abstract

In research aims to understand an increase in creativity learn math to their students class vii the first half odd SMP Negeri 3 Sentolo in the academic year of 2016 / 2017. This research uses a method of guided discovery. The subject at this research is a student VII B SMP Negeri 3 Sentolo Kabupaten Kulon Progo in the academic year of 2016 / 2017 which consisted of 16 students' son and 14 students' daughter. Technique data collection it will be a method of observation, interview, documentation, and tests the discussion. Obtained the average the percentage creativity to study for students from the results of sheets of observation in cycle I of 29,79 % in the less. Cycle II increased by 61.71% in both categories and the average percentage of classical and exhaustiveness of test results of 46.667%. Cycle III increased by 79.21% in both categories and the average percentage of classical and exhaustiveness of test results of 80.000%. According to the interviews students and teachers showed a positive response from students and teachers.

Abstract

The lack of students' creativity and reasoning ability in the mathematics lesson in Grade VIII of State Junior High School 3 Kasihan Bantul (SMP Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul) of the academic year 2016/2017 is due to frequent students. They are reluctant to ask, even though the explanation of mathematics subject material presented by the teacher has not been understood. This study aims to determine whether or not there the influence of students' creativity and reasoning skills on the algebra test result of year VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul Semester 1 2016/2017 academic year. The population in this research, there are five classes. The samples are taken two classes by random sampling technique and VII C as a first-class and VII D as a second class. Techniques for collecting data use non-test and test. The research instrument is a reasoning skill reasoning test, multiple-choice learning test, and student creativity questionnaire. Instrument-tests include validity tests, different capacity, and reliability. Techniques for analyzing data use prerequisite test analysis consist of normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing use t-test and LSD test. The results show that (1) Thereof and 6, with  on the significant level 5%,  df :  and . Based on t-test calculation obtained  =  and  (58) = 1,67193 which mean (58) it can be concluded that the creativity of low students has more influence on learning outcomes. (2) Thereof and , with  on the significance level 5%, df:  and . Based on t-test calculation obtained  = dan (58) = 1,67193  that means (60) it can be concluded that high reasoning ability has more influence on learning outcomes. Based on the LSD test and t-test the results obtained are low student creativity combined with high reasoning ability influence on learning outcomes

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena keaktifan siswa kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan Kabupaten Sleman tahun ajaran 2017/2018 dalam pembelajaran matematika masih kurang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI siswa kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan Kabupaten Sleman semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Setting yang digunakan adalah kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan Kabupaten Sleman yang berjumlah 33 siswa. Penelitian dilakukan 2 siklus yaitu siklus I dan siklus II, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 2 pertemuan. Siklus I dan siklus II menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi dengan lembar observasi keaktifan belajar siswa, dan wawancara. Analisis instrumen menggunakan validitas isi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan Kabupaten Sleman semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Hal ini terbukti dari hasil observasi keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran setiap siklus mengalami peningkatan, yaitu rata-rata persentase hasil observasi keaktifan siswa pada siklus I 52,350% yang mencapai kriteria sedang, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 76,009% yang mencapai kriteria tinggi. Dari hasil wawancara dengan beberapa siswa diperoleh juga bahwa siswa dapat menerima dengan baik serta tertarik dalam mengikuti pembelajaran.
