Abstract

The use of materials that are insufficient to cause the learning process centered on the teacher. It causes low student independence and liveliness in building his own, becomes a factor it needs alternative materials that can facilitate the student's independent study. Math algebra material on module into alternative materials that can be used by students. This research aims to develop a mathematical module and test the feasibility of the mathematics modules. The research design used, namely with the stages of Research and Development potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, revision of the design, product testing, product testing, revisions, and revision of the product. The subject of research is the study of the expert product, i.e., lecture of mathematics, mathematics teacher, and students. Types of data used, i.e., qualitative and quantitative data. Engineering data collection using a non-test with instruments in the form of sheets of interview and question form. With test instruments through the validation and analysis of data using lecturer analysis question form and analysis of the feasibility of a mathematical module. Based on the results of the study, the feasibility of mathematical module by material obtained an average score of 151 with the criteria of very good, the eligibility module by media expert gained an average of 167.33 criteria very good, and the now the response of students with an average of 130.7 and 127 with the criteria of very good. So, the mathematical content module algebra worth for use in learning.

This study aims to determine whether or not there is a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, interest in learning, and attention of parents with the results of learning mathematics students IX Muhammadiyah Junior High School Imogiri (SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Imogiri) Even Semester of the academic year 2016/2017. SMP Muhammadiyah Imogiri Bantul Regency academic year 2016/2017 consists of 5 classes IXA has an average value of Midterm in the middle among the five existing classes. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and test methods. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire of interest in learning, questionnaire of parental attention, numerical ability test, and math learning result test. Test instrument research using validity test, reliability test. The prerequisite analysis test includes a normality test, linearity test, and independence test. Data analysis for hypothesis analysis using product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed there was a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, interest in learning, and attention of parents to the results of learning mathematics. At a significant level of 5% v1 = 3, v2 = 24 Fcount = 4,239506252 and Ftable = 3.01 so Fcount> Ftable with double correlation coefficient 0.588539061 and multiple regression equations are three variables namely Ŷ = -68, 39347489 + 0, 01603402 X1 + 0,9670728 X2 + 0,266553832 X3 relative contribution X1 = 56.21988%, X2 = 25,19377%, X3 = 18,58636% and effective contribution X1 = 19,47388%, X2 = 8, 72659%, X3 = 6,43792

Abstract

A less exciting approach to mathematics learning makes student activity in deep mathematics learning. This research aims to increase the learning activities of mathematics by using the problem-posing approach of students of class VIII C Odd Semester Muhammadiyah Junior High School 1 Godean (SMP Muhammadiyah I Godean) Sleman District Academic Year 2017/2018. This study is a Classroom Action Research with the subject of research class VIII C SMP Muhammadiyah I Godean. The object in this study is the learning activities of mathematics students after learning mathematics with a problem-posing approach. The study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two face-to-face. The technique of collecting data using observation. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive analysis. This research shows that the problem-posing approach can increase the learning activity of mathematics of VIII C students of SMP Muhammadiyah I Godean of Sleman Regency in odd semester of the academic year 2017/2018. This is evident from the average percentage of analysis results observation sheet activity of students cycle I is 55.60%. The student activity qualifications insufficient criteria, and on the second cycle average percentage analysis results observation sheet student activity increased to 70.05%, then the qualification student activity in good criteria. These results indicate that an increase in student learning activities is quite significant. The results of this study indicate an increase in activity during mathematics learning on the subject of Algebraic.

Abstract

The learning method that is less interesting in the Mathematics subject makes the low student’s motivation to learn Mathematics. This research aims to improve student’s motivation in Mathematics subject by using the discussion method for VII grade students “A” of Muhammadiyah Pakem Junior High School (SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem) at even semester in Sleman districts academic year 2016/2017. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject is the seven grades students "A" of Muhammadiyah Pakem Junior High School, and the object is student’s learning motivation after the implementation of the discussion method in Mathematics subject. The data collection technique uses observation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research is conducted in two sessions, where each session consists of two meetings. The session was stopped after the result of the indicator was reached out to a minimum of 60% or good criteria. The results show that the discussion method can improve the learning motivation in Mathematics subject for VII grade students "A" of Muhammadiyah Pakem Junior High School in Sleman at even semester of academic year 2016/2017. It is shown based on the observation result from each session. The first session is 56,025% with sufficient criteria, and the second session increase becoming 72,631% with good criteria. At the same time, the test result of learning shows that the first session is 57,368, and the second session gets 72,631. Then, the questionnaires' results for the student's learning motivation show that the first session gets 57.906% with sufficient criteria, and the second session increases, becoming 73.867% with good criteria.

Abstract

Mathematics is a basic science that is very important and beneficial to the development of science and technology. The use of learning media based on technology becomes a tool alternative for teachers in presenting the subject of mathematics. The polyhedron subjects still considered difficult for some students. Learning media based on Macromedia Flash Profesional 8 is expected to be facilities that support learning. This research is a development that aims to produce instructional media using Macromedia Flash Profesional 8 in learning mathematics on the subject of polyhedron of class VIII SMP. This development study using the ADDIE development model that is Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Subjects were matter experts, media experts, and junior high school students of Muhammadiyah 2 Godean and Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique conducted qualitatively and quantitatively to calculate the results of the feasibility test score developed in instructional media. Based on the quality of every aspect of learning media, results of research-based math learning media development of mathematics learning media based on  Macromedia Flash 8 is from materials experts with excellent category, an average score is 96,67 from media experts with excellent category, an average score is 90, and the response of students with excellent category with an average score of 87,09. Based on the assessments, then the media-based mathematics learning Macromedia Flash 8 is very feasible to use in learning.

Abstract

So far, some think that mathematics is no more than counting and playing with formulas and statistics. The student simply accepts mathematics teaching in school without questioning why, and for what mathematics, and for what match should be taught. This research aims to improve the activities and results in study mathematics by cooperative learning design type student team achievement division (STAD). The kinds of this research are classroom action research (CAR), the research setting is XI IPS I State Senior High School 4 Yogyakarta (SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta) Academic year 2016/2017 consisting of 27 students. The data collecting technique is observation and test learning outcomes. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative research. This research indicates that by using the cooperative learning design type student team achievement division (STAD), there are improvements in activities and mathematics learning outcomes students in two cycles. This matter seen from the percentage average of observation results of learning activities students in I cycle; it is about 56,51% by enough criteria, and in cycle II are increased become 82,36%. Improvement learning outcomes are seen in cycle I from 27 students who fill up MCC amounted to 15 students in cycle II increased to 23 students who fill up Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC).

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes are associated with many factors. The Self-concept, learning environment, and utilization of learning resources are three factors that allegedly relate to learning outcomes. This study is purposed to determine whether or not a positive and significant correlation self-concept, home learning environment, and utilization of learning resources with mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII State Junior High School 1 Purwareja (SMP Negeri 1 Purwareja) – Klampok Banjarnegara odd semester academic year 2017/2018. The sample class in SMP Negeri 1 Purwareja – Klampok in the academic year 2017/2018 consists of 8 classes. The class sample is class VIII G, chosen by using a random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and tests. The data collection instrument uses a self-concept questionnaire, questionnaire of home study environment, questionnaire of learning resource utilization, and test of learning result. Test of research instrument used validity test, differential test, and reliability test. The prerequisite analysis tests include normality tests, linearity tests, and independent tests. Data analysis for hypothesis testing used simple correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis.  The research results show a positive and significant relationship between self-concept, home study environment, and the utilization of learning resources with the results of learning mathematics. At the significant level 5%,  dan , with multiple correlation coefficients, and multiple regression equations are three variables . The value of Relative contributions  with its double determinantcoefficient0,297 and its effective contribution .

Abstract

Teacher-centered learning causes passive students and can not learn independently using teaching materials. Students consider the material on the teaching materials used still abstract. A contextual approach is expected to help students understand the material because it is associated with real life. So the development of a learning module with a contextual approach helps students understand the material and learn independently. The method used is Research and Development with the steps is potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, product revision, product usage trial, and revision. The subjects of this study are teachers and students of State Junior High School 3 Depok (SMPN 3 Depok) and Tahfidzqu Junior High School. The object of research is the use of a learning module of the polyhedron material with a contextual approach. Data collection techniques used non-tests with interview sheet and questionnaire instruments, which have been validated by lecturers. Data analysis using questionnaire analysis and module feasibility analysis. The results showed that the polyhedron module with a contextual approach for students of SMP / MTs class VIII is feasible. This is based on the result of the assessment by three validators indicating that the module included in the category is very good, with a score of 135.55 for media validation and 134.67 for material validity. The student test results also show an average score of 115.

Abstract

The lack of students' creativity and reasoning ability in the mathematics lesson in Grade VIII of State Junior High School 3 Kasihan Bantul (SMP Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul) of the academic year 2016/2017 is due to frequent students. They are reluctant to ask, even though the explanation of mathematics subject material presented by the teacher has not been understood. This study aims to determine whether or not there the influence of students' creativity and reasoning skills on the algebra test result of year VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul Semester 1 2016/2017 academic year. The population in this research, there are five classes. The samples are taken two classes by random sampling technique and VII C as a first-class and VII D as a second class. Techniques for collecting data use non-test and test. The research instrument is a reasoning skill reasoning test, multiple-choice learning test, and student creativity questionnaire. Instrument-tests include validity tests, different capacity, and reliability. Techniques for analyzing data use prerequisite test analysis consist of normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing use t-test and LSD test. The results show that (1) Thereof and 6, with  on the significant level 5%,  df :  and . Based on t-test calculation obtained  =  and  (58) = 1,67193 which mean (58) it can be concluded that the creativity of low students has more influence on learning outcomes. (2) Thereof and , with  on the significance level 5%, df:  and . Based on t-test calculation obtained  = dan (58) = 1,67193  that means (60) it can be concluded that high reasoning ability has more influence on learning outcomes. (3)Thereof and  , with  on the significance level 5%, df:  and . Based on the LSD test and t-test the results obtained are low student creativity combined with high reasoning ability influence on learning outcomes
