Abstract

Education has an important role in improving the quality of learning by implementing efforts to improve it, and it is by this research which is based on learning student learning outcomes by using Course Review Hooray (CRH) learning and make a matching model in class X Students of State Senior High School (SMA Negeri) 1 Sanden, Bantul academic year 2017/2018. This type of research uses comparative research. The population consists of all class X Science Mathematic (MIPA) as many as 112 students are divided into four classes. Sampling was done by a simple random sampling technique and obtained three sample classes, students of class X MIPA 2 as experimental class 1, X MIPA 3 as experimental class 2, and X MIPA 1 as control class with the number of students each class 28 students. The research instrument uses validity and reliability testing. The unreasonable analysis includes the test of normality and homogeneity. Analysis of the data using the anava test. The study results showed differences in mathematics learning outcomes using conventional learning models with Course Review Hooray (CRH) and matching the learning model. It was shown by starting with f_tabe e=3,1093 dan f_count=26,902, which means f_count  of the CRH learning model and make a match with no difference in the result. Learning mathematics rather than conventional learning.

Abstract

The verbal ability of grade VIII students of MTs Al Mu'min Temanggung Islamic Junior High School Academic Year 2017/2018 on learning mathematics was still lacking. This research aimed to increase students' verbal ability on mathematics learning using group learning models of students class VIII in MTs Al Mu'min Temanggung on even semester in 2017/2018.  This research is a Classroom Action Research. The setting use class VIII-A with 30 students. The research was conducted two cycles by using group learning models. The method of data collection using observation, interview, and documentation. The instrument research using observation sheet and interview guidelines. The instrument analyzes using content validity. The analysis used in the research is a qualitative descriptive analysis. This research showed that learning by using group learning models can increase students' verbal ability to learn mathematics in class VIII-A of MTs Al Mu'min Temanggung Islamic Junior High School Academic Year 2017/2018. These things were proven by observing the student's verbal ability to learning in every cycle has increased. The average percentage of observations resulting from students' verbal ability on the first cycle was 43.33% with enough criteria, and on-cycle II, it increases to 62.33% with good criteria. The results of interviews with students showed a positive response to the student's verbal ability.

Abstract

Mathematical learning models with direct learning used so far can be one of the causes of poor mathematics learning outcomes. One way to overcome mathematics's poor learning outcomes is by applying learning models that involve more student activities. Several learning models involve more student activities so that learning takes place more meaningfully for students, cooperative learning. This study aims to determine which is more effective between the Questions student’s Have (QSH) type of cooperative learning model and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This study's population were eighth-grade students consisting of 7 classes, samples taken by purposive sampling to class, obtained by class VIII-G as experimental class 1 with QSH learning, and class VIII-F as experimental class II with NHT learning. The type used in this study is experimental research with a quantitative research approach. The research method is a post-only control design. The instruments used are post-test questions in the form of multiple-choice tests. Instrument testing uses the Validity Test, different power, reliability test, and level of difficulty. Data analysis techniques consisted of the initial ability normality test, initial ability homogeneity test, and comparing the average scores of students' mathematics learning outcomes. The study results obtained the average test scores of class G students' mathematics learning outcomes as experimental class I with QSH learning at 70.61. The average test scores of class F mathematics learning outcomes as experimental class II with NHT learning amounted to 59.70. There are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes using the QSH type cooperative learning model with the NHT type cooperative learning model. The difference in the average value of the test results of the experimental class I with QSH learning and experimental class II with NHT learning was 10.91 with the average value of students' experimental learning outcomes of the experimental class I with QSH learning was higher than the experimental class II with NHT learning. This means that the Questions Students type cooperative learning model has more effective than the Numbered Heads Together type learning model of students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in class XI SMK N 1 Sewon is still centered on teachers. Students assume that mathematics is a complicated subject that resulted in the students' mathematics learning outcome. Learning using Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model is expected to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research is aimed to find out whether or not the difference of mathematics learning result of the students is taught by using STAD type cooperative learning model and by using direct learning model, and which is better learning model to student learning achievement, STAD type cooperative learning model or model direct learning. This study's population were students of Class XI Hospitality Accommodation Program (AP) State Vocational High School (SMK N) 1 Sewon consisting of three classes. In contrast, the sample in this study, there are two classes determined by random sampling. The research sample is class XI (AP-1 ) as an experiment class with STAD type cooperative learning model, and class XI (AP-2 ) as a control class with a direct learning model. This research instrument is the test result of mathematics learning and analyzed using the validity test, distinguishing power, and reliability. Then, the data analysis uses a two-t-test and one-party test. The first hypothesis test analysis is two t-test on the students' mathematics learning results. A significance level of 5% and degrees of freedom 53 obtained tcount = 4.560, and ttable = 2.00584 then tcount> ttable. Hence, there is a significant difference between the learning results in mathematics of students taught by using STAD type cooperative learning model and by using direct learning model, and on second hypothesis test that is t-test one side with 5% significance level and degrees of freedom 53 obtained tcount= 4,560, and ttable = 1,67416, then tcount > ttable so that model of cooperative learning type STAD better than direct learning model to result of student learning of mathematics.

Abstract

This study's background was students who were less independent and still had difficulties in solving abstract things. The purpose of this study was to develop a module with the RME approach so that students would get a better understanding of the concept of the material being taught, especially on the two-dimensional figure. To identify the module's feasibility was based on the assessment of material experts, media experts, and student responses to the modules that have been made. The study was conducted using the Research and Development (R & D) method. The steps include (1) potential and problems, (2) data acquisition, (3) product design, (4 design validations, (5) design improvements, (6) product trials, (7) product revisions, (8 ) usage test Subjects of the trial included: (a) product review experts, (b) education practitioners, (c) Class VII junior high school students. Development of modules included: (a) gathering information, (b) module design, (c) validate the material expert, (d) product revision. The next step is the feasibility of the module, which includes: (a) validation by experts, (b) expert revision, (c) product trial, (d) revision I, (e) test try usage, (f) revision II.  Data collection techniques are interviews and questionnaires. Types of data used quantitative and qualitative data. This study uses qualitative descriptive analysis, which is converted into quantitative values based on the Likert scale. The study results indicated that the study successfully developed the mathematics learning module on the two-dimensional figure for the second semester's seventh-grade students with the RME approach. The results of the study by material experts obtained an average score of 201 with an outstanding category. The results of the assessment by media experts obtained an average score of 129 with very good categories. Student response results to the module included in the good category with an average score of 89.3. These results indicated that the mathematics learning module on the two-dimensional figure for the seventh-grade junior high school students was feasible and effective in the learning process.
