Abstract

In recent years, laterite iron sand-actived carbon composites based on natural ingredient were successfully introduced as microwave absorbers material. In this research work, laterite iron sand-active carbon composites has been made from laterite iron rock, Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan to be laterit iron sand and active carbon will be achieve by activation method with KOH from cassava peel. This laterite iron sand-active carbon composites coating is applied to steel grade A type AH36. Microwave absorbing properties were investigated by measuring reflection loss in the 8.2-12.4 GHz microwave frequency range using network analyser. The results of microwave absorbing properties studies showed that the reflection loss of laterite iron sand-actived carbon composites is higher than uncoated steel samples.

Abstract

Characteristic of I-V is a key parameter of describing the performance of solar cell diode, specially for Silicon material. One of the effort to get its higher performance can be conducted by investigating the effect of the thickness of p-layer. The thickness becomes important factor because of its function as windows layer, which will determine the number of generation factor, appropiate to the charge carrier producing. Here, we explore them by using computer program, applying finite element methode as the numerical simulation. The geometry of the diode was simulated in one dimensional structure, where the thickness of p-layer varied from 0,7 μm to 1,5 μm, while the n-layer was fixed at a thickness of 3,5 μm. The result showed that the optimum parameters has come out to achieve the best performance of this type of solar cell.

Abstract

The current trend of the management of diseases has shifted toward modulating the immune response of the patients. This is achieved by the administration of immunomodulatory substance obtained from the immunogenic medicinal plant, such as neem. The immunogenic properties of neem has been associated with its protein content. Aim. This study aimed to characterize the proteins and immunogenic components of neem leaves juice using sodium dodecyl Sulphate method Polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Materials and Methods. Neem leaf juice was extracted for proteins with freeze dry method. Samples that were to be run were added with RSB with the ratio of 1:1, then heated in boiled water for ± 5 minutes. An amount of 15 µl from each sample was then put into the wells. Samples were run in 120 Volt for 60-80 minutes. Gel was then taken, stained with silver nitrate for 1 hour, and was then stained every 1.5 hours. Protein bands formed were then observed. Results. The protein fraction of neem leaves juice consisted of proteins with molecular weights (MW) as follows: 11 kDa, 13 kDa, 30 kDa, 62 kDa, 70 kDa, 81 kDa. Conclusion. All protein fractions of neem leaves juice are potentially immunogenic components.

Abstract

Rainwater is an alternative sources of drinking water. The rainwater treatment process should be conducted before the rainwater can be consumed. One of the water treatment process is filtration. Zeolites and activated carbon are often used as filtration media due to its high availability and water pollutants removal efficiency. This research aims to measure filtration efficiency and the production cost of rainwater filtration treatment  using  modified/treated  natural zeolite  (TNZ) and activated carbon filter. Types of filter media used in this research are TNZ RC.32 (adsorbent for total dissolved solid, total suspended solid, CO2  and alkalinity), TNZ RC.42 (cation exchanger for Fe, Mn, color, and organic matter) and activated carbon filter. The research is conducted using four variations of filters configuration and  two  variations of reactor volume. The parameters tested are turbidity, total dissolved solid, pH, organic matter, and coliform. Reactor debit used is 0.01 l/sec. Filter configuration of TNZ RC.32 and activated carbon filter with 1.5 liter reactor volume has the highest organic substances removal efficiency by 58.85% and the lowest reactor production cost of Rp. 560,600. The results of rainwater treatment meets Indonesian drinking water regulation quality standards.

Abstract

Forecasting is a statistical analysis to obtain an overview the development of event in the future. Forecasting performed on time series data, is a series of data observation data that affected by previous data. In addition, time series data is also affected by the location of research, it is called spatial correlations. This correlation can be analyzed by cluster analysis method. Cluster analysis aims to group objects based on similar characteristics. Variability of rainfall in Jember Regency depends on time and space so that there is a spatial correlation. Cluster analysis is expected to form groups that optimal in the data so that the forecasting results more optimal. Selection of the best forecasting models in this study is determined by the smallest RMSE value.

Abstract

Let G be a simple, connected and undirected graph and r, k be natural numbers. An edge coloring that uses k colors is a k-edge coloring. Thus a graph G can be described as a function c : V (G) → S, where |S| = k, such that any two adjacent vertices receive different colors. An r-dynamic k-coloring is a proper k-coloring c of G such that |c(N(v))| ≥ min{r, d(v)} for each vertex v in V (G), where N(v) is the neighborhood of v and c(S) = {c(v) : v ∈ S} for a vertex subset S. The r-dynamic chromatic number, written as χr(G), is the minimum k such that G has an r-dynamic k-coloring. In this paper, we will study the existence of r-dynamic k-coloring when G is shackle of wheel graph. As we know, that a shackle operation of H denoted by shack(H, v, n) is a shackle with vertex as the connector. We also can generated shackle graph with edge connector or subgraph as the connector.

Abstract

Robust Regression is a regression methods were used to analyze the data that contains some outliers. This regression is a statistical model were easy to influenced to small changes in the data. This method is often used for data analysis on additive model. In a modeling of two ways table, it has been known AMMI (Additive Main and Multiplicative Interaction) which can be used to analyze the stability of genotypes at several different environments by combining the additive model of main effect and multiplicative model of interaction. AMMI models used for data with normally distribution. AMMI models will against the same problem if there are outliers in two ways table. Because of that problem, it is necessary a robust method in decompotition of interaction matrix including robust SVD and Robust PCA. This study analyzed data on two-way tables that contain contain outliers by using approach of robust SVD and approach of robust PCA. The results of this study on both methods will be compared the goodness of model through the comparison of biplot of each model.
