Abstract

The study assessed the relevance of the skills required of undergraduate students towards online learning as well as evaluated the skills possessed by them for online learning. The study employed a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised undergraduate students from the faculties of administration, science, and social science at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. A simple random sampling method was adopted to select 375 respondents from the faculties.  Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that was emailed to respondents and analysed using frequency distribution tables and the chi-square method. The study revealed that personal and technical skills are extremely important for online learning, with average values exceeding the 2.5 standard, indicating that they are required. Also, the students possessed an appreciable number of personal skills that are conducive to online learning. However, students were not well-grounded in technical skills such as good control of database management software, Microsoft Excel, and so on. The study recommends that the university system should implement a hybrid lecture system in which students participate in a blended learning system. Additionally, more technical skill orientations, lectures, seminars, or workshops should be provided to help students improve technical abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity and to estimate the reliability of the editorial plan product assessment rubric in the Digital Public Relations course. The focus of the research is the content validity and reliability estimation of the product assessment rubric: editorial plan. The Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI) from the assessment rubric and V Aiken were calculated using Ms. Excel. The Calculation of content validity by five experts was valid. The Interclass Correlation Coefficients (ICC) were used to estimate the reliability of the scoring rubric and were calculated using SPSS 24.0 software. The rubric was tested on 3 raters who assessed 30 students each. The results of the calculation of the reliability estimate show a good level of reliability. This validity and reliability estimation of the rubric is expected to be able to support an objective assessment, especially on editorial planning products in the Digital Public Relations course.

Abstract

The study was carried out to assess the skills required by polytechnic graduates for employment in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria's Niger-Delta region. A  descriptive survey was used for the study, whose population comprised 1404 oil and gas industry workers in the Niger-Delta, Nigeria. Purposive sampling technique was used to select from the population, 27 electrical supervisors and 62 electrical graduates as the study sample. One research question and one hypothesis guided the study. A 35-item structured questionnaire designed by the researchers and titled “Electrical Design and Drafting Skills needed by Polytechnic Graduates Questionnaire (EDDSPGQ)” was used to collect information from the respondents. The EDDSPGQ was designed based on the  5-Likert Scale. The instrument was face and content-validated by two industry-based electrical supervisors and another expert in measurement and evaluation. The instrument’s reliability was established via the  Cronbach alpha method, having yielded a coefficient of 0.83.A  mean was used to answer the research question; standard deviation was used to ascertain homogeneity in the responses of the respondents; and a t-test was used to test the hypothesis at a 0.05 level of significance. The study reveals that electrical and electronic graduates need to develop skills in drafting point-point diagrams, control circuits of an automatic re-closure scheme, star-delta starters and three-phase line-in diagrams. Consequently, it was recommended, among others, that the Government should provide modern training facilities in polytechnics as well as make SIWES more effective for the quality skills development of engineering students in preparation for employment in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria upon graduation.

Abstract

The study aimed to recognise the effect of using a strategy learning cycle on the collection of school students. The tenth primary in vocational education in Jordan, where  it was chosen as  the High School for Boys in Governorate Ajloun, was chosen in two divisions In her school achievement of the people in tenth grade primary school, she randomly distributed these two divisions to form a control group and  an experimental group. The first experimental group was taught it consists of 35 students using the learning cycle, While the subject was being taught, control  sink It also consists of 35 students Using the usual traditional method to teach the two groups. Aqualified teacher to do this, the trial period lasted eight weeks. Statistical analyses of the study data revealed that in  the second semester of school year 2021/2022 AD, there were statistically significant  differences in the achievement of tenth grade students in material vocational education and those  who were consoled to use teaching st rategy (learning cycle the traditional method); the differences in the collection were in favour of students who learned by the learning cycle strategy, compared to their peers who learned the traditional way.

Abstract

Smartphone users are increasing every year. This increase is due to the functions of smartphone technology, which help a lot to meet the needs of the community, social media, entertainment, shopping, work, managing finances, health and education. This must be anticipated by increasing digital-based educational content to optimise opportunities for improving technology to accelerate the quality of education. The development of learning materials in digital form is arranged in an android-based application.  Innovative use of information and communication technology (ICT) to support marine and fishing learning strategy lectures in the form of application breakthroughs to optimise learning. This research aims to make learning media innovations related to the marine and  fishinglearning strategy lecture process. This study uses the DBR (Design-Based Research) method in the form of qualitative data collection and descriptive analysis. Data collection was carried out in a mixed manner, namely by providing direct and indirect questionnaires, then quantitatively processing them using the DBR approach. The results of this research are an Android-based learning media innovation with information on marine and fisheries learning strategy lecture material that is packaged as attractively as possible and has a user-friendly display to make it easier to use.

Abstract

This study combined computer-aided design with compass approaches, employing quasi-experimental design pre-test, post-test, and a non-equivalent control group, to improve the cognitive performance of architectural drawing students. The  study addressed three objectives and investigated three null hypotheses. Thestudy's target audience was 125 senior secondary year two architectural drawing students. The experimental group received ten weeks of training using the marker board compass approach, while the control group received ten weeks of instruction using computer-aided design. Data was collected using the Architectural Drawing Achievement Test, which has a reliability rate of 0.86 using Kuder-Richardson 21. Three experts validated the test's face and content. The results revealed that the experimental group's students performed more effectively at architectural drawing than those in the control group. The cognitive achievement of students is significantly influenced by gender, favouring males. Additionally, in the area of architectural drawing, high-achievers students outperformed lowachievers students by barely. Based on these results, it was suggested that senior secondary schools in Nigeria teach architectural drawing using a combination of computer-aided design and the compass method.

Abstract

Adolescence is a significant period starting with mental, emotional development and physical development; adolescents experience many problems due to unfulfilled levels of welfare subject. Because the level of youth welfare also measures the progress of a country, a country also has a responsibility to improve the welfare of its youth. For this reason, this study aims to find which adolescent welfare domain subjects need more attention. Research on youth welfare uses the bibliometric analysis method with the help of the VOS Viewer application system using the keyword "Wellbeing for youth" using the limitations of the type of journal articles in English that have been published in the last five years and obtained as many as 840 data with 114 keyword verifications. Used to visualize bibliometric maps. The results of research that has been conducted from 114 keywords, mental health, which is one of the subject domains of welfare, is a keyword that is often researched in the last five years, and the country with the highest level of research on adolescent interest is the United States and in followed by the United Kingdom and followed by several other developed countries.
