Abstract

Archival is something that can not be separated from an organization or institution, archival has such an important role, it can be considered when making a decission or be a concrete evidence. In its development, the archive keep following techonological changes, now archives are not only the shape of an object but also something that stored digitally known as electronic archives. Record managemet is an effort done by archival association to provide service in accordance with the character of today’s society, through this article the writer wants to convey about the management of both digital and conventional archives as well as the software that became modern media in archival management in order to facilitate the task and archival services.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a web-based library information system, and produce operational guide of web-based library information system. Product web-based library information system which has been developed then validated by experts of information technology in web fields, practitioner (teacher) and practitioner (librarian). Products which have been validated next tested on 5th grade students of SDN Watukosek of the 36 children. Research results show the expert assessment of the information technology in web fields, practitioner teacher, librarian and practitioner gives criteria "Very Valid", while the results of field trials to the gives students the criteria of "Very Good", so that the web-based library information system fit for use.

Abstract

Resources which owned by library are limited. Libraries are not able to fully meet the expectations and desires of its users. Collaboration is a smart action for libraries and librarians to maximize their resources and overcome the limitations of existing resources. Practices of collaboration can be done either in the college library, school library and the public library. The collaboration is helpful to increase library services, the maximizing of resources are owned by the library. It spurs creativity and innovation opportunities. Need attitude and commitment of an individual to involve in the collaboration i.e a strong will to collaborate, creative and innovative, willing to continue to learn, and the ability to communicate. Collaboration is one of solution to increase library performance and quality.

Abstract

This study investigated the implementation of "Scan Snap SV600 + Rack2-Filer" – as a digitalization technology- in the Library of Adab Faculty, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. It is important to know the effectiveness of the technology as one of learning materials. The lecture was held by students of Library Department, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in the second semester. It was involved 97 students from three classes in 2015. The approach used in this research was TAM model that was based on the variables of perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), attitude toward behavior (ATU), and behavioral intention (BI). Questionaires collected with the saturated approach were analysed using SPSS version 22. The result showed that the mean score for all of the variables was very high out of maximum score obtainable of 4. T-Test analysis indicated that there was positive and significant effect for some variables, except the perceived usefulness (PU) to the behavioral intention (BI) with effect value of 0,051; and the attitude toward behavior (ATU) to behavioral intention (BI) with effect value of 0,193 . Meanwhile, the most occurred in the perceived ease of use (PEOU) to the perceived usefulness (PU) with effect value of 0,332%. Thus, the easiness becomes higher than usefulness in using the technology for students. So, there is something more important to teach how the students take the technology in the perceived usefulness than the perceived ease of use.

Abstract

Hedonism amid net generation resulting behavior of the next generation has a high level of technology use and consumptive nature that likes to update the latest technology and social media use is high. This resulted in net generation behavioral change. To anticipate these behavioral changes will require librarians to become a partner of the user. Improvement can be done by making the librarian as cybrarian. Establishment of cybrarian is the one way to increase human resources in the library to provide services according to needs of the net generation. This increase can be given the library by providing training and education. A cybrarian will have the ability to visual literacy, digital literacy, ICT literacy, information literacy, and the others. Cybrarian will have the ability to provide knowledge to the net generation, so that the gadget they have to be utilized, particularly those giving a positive effect in improving technological capabilities and user communication.

Abstract

Improved image of medium scale, we can see from some of the college library ranging from the construction of the library website up to reorganize the collection and the room. In the era of the 1980s and 1990s the concept of a library is considered taboo or even not allowed any food or drink in the library because it can bring in the rat, which can damage the collection. Currently there have also been merging a library room with a home theater, so it went into the library building can be treated to interesting movies, and so forth. Image enhancement college library as a professional institution in providing information services to the campus community will open up the minds of their (campus community) that the library can be used as an alternate means of independent learning. Some management approach is used as a strategy to improve the image library. Strategy three pillars of the main image presented above, provide an alternative thinking to develop the library into a modern information center and professional.

Abstract

The library college as academic library will continue to exist plays a role to play in the life of a college. The library college should be able to understand the concepts of Knowledge Management and make a SWOT analysis. The purpose of this paper is to describe the implementation of knowledge management and SWOT analysis in the University Library. The methods used for data by observation and internet resources, lectures and scientific journals. The results of this paper found that to achieve the implementation of knowledge management and SWOT analysis, therefore (1) The University Library is expected to: (a) Understand the concept of Knowledge Management (creation, recording and organization, deployment, access and use, and continued with the re-creation of knowledge, etc), (b) Partner for the user, (c) Serving an individual or group as a member of the network, (d) Provides Knowledge Management, (2) The leader of library capable elaborated with the potential and the skills possessed by the existing resources in the library, (3) Support of the policy makers, so that of Knowledge Management will impact to all activities of civitas academic in universities.
