Abstract

The influence of water on the soil material will increase the amount of water content in the soil is often called the soil water content. In the fine-grained soil such as clay, water damage will cause the granules swell (swelling), and at a low water content (dry) material clay will shrink. Additionally clay material has a carrying capacity that is small or low, so that in the process of quality improvement as the carrying capacity of the subgrade sometimes do additional material as a binder or hardening larger granules as filler so that the grains become a better arrangement. One of the filler material can be extinguished lime is added with a diverse mix variations and compacted and tested the value of its carrying capacity by CBR testing in the laboratory. Laboratory CBR value is used to guide the process of backfill soil in the field, so that the construction requirements of subgrade (subgrade) can meet the requirements. A large increase in the value of the red clay soil CBR plus lime obtained an increase, with a mixture of about 16% the value of the CBR rose to 25% of the original soil.Kata kunci : Red clay, lime, CBR carrying capacity.

Abstract

Brick is a building material used by most people as a couple walls. See its function as an insulator and not planned to support the weight of the walls are made of various materials such as masonry, brick pair, the pair of stone, wood boards, cubicles, plywood etc. The weeds are weeds and the weeds of agriculture because it is easy to grow and multiply rapidly, in many places especially fertile soil reaches a height of 1.0 to 2.0 meters. The total area of grasslands in Indonesia reaches ± 16 000 million hectares with a growth rate of approximately 200,000 hectares of which took place on an ongoing basis each year. This potential is neglected then used as a lightweight aggregate in the manufacture of building elements. Lightweight aggregate reed fibers can reduce the weight of concrete bricks, profits are easily obtainable. Lightweight brick reed fiber test results have an average length of 40.15 to 40.60 cm, a width of 18.83 to 19.35 cm and thickness from 10.08 to 10.23 cm, weight of 4373.25 to 7238, 25 grams lighter 20-50% by weight of cement concrete brick sand (the market). Compressive strength from 1.071 to 4.650 kg / cm ² does not qualify as low (class bricks of 25 kg / cm ²), while the brick with a mixture of Portland cement + sand as a comparison of eligible compressive strength class of 25 kg / cm ² is a mix of 1pc: 3 Ps and 1 Pc: 5 Ps. Regression values for light brick sand mixture 2 Y = 0.069 X ² - 1.0906 X + 5.4051 and the correlation R ² = 0.9388 has a strong relationship between the compressive strength with fiber content in a mixture of tall grass, on a mix of 3 sand Y = 0.0063 X ² + 0.1501 X - 3.3749 and the correlation R ² = 0.9592 has a strong relationship between the compressive strength with fiber content in the mixed grass. Reed fiber content higher compressive strong declining trend. High water absorption from 30.243 to 72.622 g / dm ² / min then a light brick to immersion in water first so that the species does not run out of water absorbed light brick. Lightweight brick low salinity <50% can be used in construction. Lightweight brick reed fibers can not be used for the construction of the walls that hold heavy loads and its use should be protected in place.

Abstract

Granular of soil as a material supporter of building foundations, heavily influenced by the physical properties of water. Moreover, the fine-grained soil clays in particular, due to water entering the soil particle then inflate and vice versa due to reduced ground water will shrink. Red clay soil stabilization with lime and cement materials, seeks to increase the carrying capacity of the soil as subgrade layer to buffer the load through the foundation component that serves to spread the load on it to buffer the soil section. In addition to the added material lime and cement as filler material also serves as a lasting cementation thus increase the carrying capacity of the red clay soil. Better material cemented its CBR value increase of the lime.

Abstract

Soil materials that the grain size of the composition can comprise coarse material (gravel, sand) and fine materials (silt and clay). At the material / soil materials that include fine-grained soil that contains granules ø 0.075 mm over 50% will be dominated by clay content. This material will have a high value of plasticity and low power as well as developing a sizeable shrinkage. Lime that has binding properties (lime stone) when added to the material clay changes will provide both improved quality, bulk density, as well as lime-enabled so the added material on clay red around POLINES as filler material (filter) with different variations in the mix and treatment peneraman and soaking would boost its strength tested by the carrying capacity by means of CBR (California Bearing Ratio) test results in the laboratory value of CBR plans on condition brooded until 7 days: CBR its 2.4 kp + 20.8 with a level of correlation R = 0.9328 , And soaked conditions until 7 days: his CBR kp 4.4 - 0.8 with a degree of correlation R = 0.9874.

Abstract

In today's society infrastructure development , especially in the field of housing and there's also a supporting infrastructure utilization and the use of paving blocks as a construction material . This is because the use of paving blocks are generally considered less expensive and easy execution. Blangket soil can be categorized as one of the kinds of soils containing lime , which is the precipitate formed by chemical processes or mechanisms in nature ( BKPM Technology of Materials 2 ; 2002) . Blangket soil has physical characteristics such as clay or loose, white or dull yellow. This soil is found in the area Grobogan . This study tried to assess the use of the material as a mixture of blangket soil making paving blocks in terms of compressive strength. This study used an experimental method in the laboratory testing of materials POLINES Civil Engineering department, where for each of the mixtures made 3 test object. The test results indicate that the material can be used as an alternative blangket soil as a mixture of block paving to reduce and replace the use of sand material . It is shown from the results of testing compressive strength of paving blocks with a mixture of soil blangket in comparison 1PC : 4Ps : 2TB has a compressive strength of 10.75 MPa , which qualified quality block paving D ( SNI 03-0691-1996 use for a garden ). For future development needs to be done further research on the use of land blangket as material for paving blocks in terms of economics.

Abstract

Natural slope that are formed from the soil often experience landslides. Landslide occurs because the driving force received by the slope is greater than the ability of the slope to resist it. Thus forming a sliding plane that has a low stability. Factors that decrease the stability of the slope are infiltration of rainwater, vibrations that may come from earthquakes or moving loads, construction loads, and cracks. Rainwater that infiltrate through slope causes active force on the slopes and also decreases soil strength. Landslides due to infiltration of rainfall are common problems on residual soil slopes from the tropical region. Soil stabilization process for soil that have been experienced prior landslide, often encounter difficulty in compacting soil to form slope bodies. Loose sandy soil slopes has a very low strength so that expensive construction is needed. One possible way to do this is to fill the pores of the soil with certain aggregates. One of the aggregates is cement. The cement material is chosen because cement when liquid can seep in and fill the pores of the soil. After drying this cement can increase soil permeability and reduce soil pore numbers. Filling cement into the soil pores can be done by injection of liquid cement. The problems that will be raised in this study are: What is the change in soil permeability rate if the soil is injected with cement and how much changes in soil pore size when injected with cement. The method used in this study is to make a test model in the laboratory. By comparing soil without cement injection with soil that has been injected with cement, it will be known to increase soil permeability and decrease the soil pore number. From the preliminary test with proctor test, the maximum density was 1,286 gram/cm3 and the optimum water content was 18%. Decrease of coefisien permeability from without cement injection to with cement injection 31,5 %.
