Abstract

Jurnal ini berjudul “Conflicts Faced by The Main Protagonist in Movie Captain America Civil War”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi konflik dari karakter protagonis utama dan bagaimanacara mengatasi konflik tersebut. Data dari penelitian ini diambil dari movie yang berjudul Captain America Civil War. Metode untul mengumpulkan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi dan metode untuk mengalisis data menggunakan metode qualitative. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori konflik dari Reaske (1966) untuk mengidentifikasi konflik, teori penyelesaian konflik dari Thomas dan Kilmann (1970). Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian, karakter protagonist utama menghadapai konflik internal, relational dan external. Abstract

Bali is an island which the majority of its people embrace Hindu religion. However, in Bali also there are people who embrace other religions such as Islam, Catholic and Christian Protestant. In Denpasar there is Batak Karo Christian congregation who do not want to live side by side with the others. They even seem to self exclusive. The church is called the Church of Batak Karo Protestant runggun Denpasar. From the elaboration above, in this research the issues which will be examined defined as follows : what is the function of the Church of Batak Karo Protestant for the congregation. The research is conducted with the purposes of to find out the fuction of the Church of Batak Karo Protestant for its congregation. The research is conducted by using qualitative method, which being analyzed with functional theory of Malinowski. The result of research shows that the congregation of Batak Karo church built their own church and lived exclusively in worshipping because they do not want to feel strange in other people’s region. The function of establishing GBKP for Batak Karo congregation shows that with the existence of the church the social ties, solidarity, identity and a sense of togetherness for fellow Batak Karo congregation can always be maintained sustainably to date.

Abstract

This thesis entitled "Yakuza Life in Asakusa Bakuto Ichidai Novel by Junichi Saga, A Review of Sociology Literature". This thesis analyzes yakuza life in the novel and it’s comparison with the yakuza life in Japan. Analysis of the sociology literature in the novel divided into three aspects. There are social aspect, cultural aspect and economic aspect. The results of social aspect analysis are about the oyabun-kobun relationship, senpai-kouhai relationship, kyoudai relationship, tradition of irezumi, tradition of yubitsume, and romantic aspect. The results of cultural aspect analysis explained ojigi’s culture in organization of yakuza. The results of economic aspect analysis explained gambling and drugs business of yakuza. The results of a comparison analysis of yakuza life in the novel with yakuza life in Japan explained that most of the yakuza life in Asakusa Bakuto Ichidai novel is a reflection of real life yakuza in Japan. Reflection on the Japanese yakuza life depicted in the novel can be seen from the Japanese yakuza organization principles, values bushidou, giri-ninjou, oyabun-kobun relationship management structure of yakuza organization, demukai tradition, irezumi tradition, yubitsume tradition, and business organization of yakuza in Japan.

Abstract

The title of this study is “ReduplikasiBahasaJepangdalam Novel Ikitemasu, 15 SaiKarya Miyuki Inoue”. The data source of this study was taken from Japanese novelentitled Ikitemasu, 15 Sai.The study used agih methods and informal methods. The theorywere used to analyze the main character of the novel was taken from the theory of form reduplication by Koizumi (1995) and the theory of mean reduplication by Simatupang(1983). There are two forms analysis of reduplication form: stem reduplication (gokan nojuufuku) and stem and affixes reduplication (gokanjuufuku to setsuji). Semantically,Japenese reduplication in the novel Ikitemasu, 15 Sai by Miyuki Inoue showed fivemeanings, namely meaning of diversity, distributive, intensive, plural or singular, and themeaning of reduplication which states doing something repeatedly or continuosly.Keyword: Reduplication, Form, Mean

Abstract

Di dalam puisi terdapat makna tersirat yang dapat diungkapkan dengan cara mengetahui jenis bahasa figuratifnya terlebih dahulu. Tulisan ini mengklasifikasikan jenisjenis bahasa figuratif yang terkandung di dalam puisi karya Robert Frost berjudulAcquainted with the Night. Juga menjelaskan makna dari setiap bahasa figuratif yangterdapat dalam setiap baris puisi tersebut.

Abstract

Masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuanberbicara mengunakan gambar berseri, dan bagaimana memotivasi siswa dalamberbicara bahasa inggris. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh konsep kerangkapenting pada penggunaan gambar berseri melalui kelompok belajar untukmeningkatkan motivasi mereka untuk berbicara bahasa inggis selama prosesinteraksi komunikasi di kelas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah menggunakan penelitiantindakan kelas (Classroon Action Research). Subyek penelitian ini terdiri atas 40orang siswa pada kelas X-1, SMAN 3 Kediri tahun ajaran 2007-2008. Datapenelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes vocabulary (tes sesudahperlakuan pertama dan tes sesudah perlakuan kedua), pengamatan untukmendapatkan data pada motivasi siswa pada peningkatan kemampuan berbicaradengan mengunakan gambar berseri. Data pada kemampuan berbicaramenggunakan gambar berseri diananalisa menggunakan urian deskripsi danstatistik untuk melihat peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa sesudah perlakuanpertama dan perlakuan kedua. Berdasar perlakuan pertama, nilai rata-rata siswameningkat menjadi 67.8 and pada perlakuan kedia, nilai rata-rata siswa menjadi78.8. dapatlah disimpulkan bahwa pengajaran berbicara melalui gambar berseridapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa.

Abstract

The analysis on the structure and literary sociology  approach in the novel of dr. Ratini, this article aims was to understand the elements of structure and the socialaspects that exist in the novel. The theory base have been used in this analysis werethe structural theory and the theory of literary sociology. Structural theory have beenused based on the Teeuw that were dominant elements in literary work. For theanalysis of social aspects were based on the theory presented by Damono and ReneWellek, the method have been used in this analysis were divided into three phases,that were data collection by the method of reading, data processing and data analysisby analytic descriptive methods, and presentation of the results of the analysis datawere by using informal methods.The results have been obtained in this analysis thatwere revealed of the narrative structure that develop the novel of dr Ratini asfollows: incident, plot, setting, characters and characterizations, theme and message.In addition, this analysis also reveals social aspects as follows: aspects of religion(tattwa, moral, ceremony), aspects of romance, magic aspects and technologyaspects.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the lexicon and its meanings used by gay people in Bali for the topic of preference. The data was collected through qualitative methods by interviewing informants, recording, and note-taking as well as doing participatory observation to gay people from several places, nightclubs, and communities in Bali including Balijoe, and Mixwell bar in Seminyak, and Bali Peace Crew Community in Denpasar. The data was qualitatively analyzed and descriptively presented based on lavender linguistics, which according to William Leap, is a study about the language used by the queer community to communicate. The theories used are sociolinguistics theories proposed by Yule which are slang and speech varieties. It resulted in 10 lexicons were used by gay people in the level of word, phrase, and abbreviation to exchange information or communicate with the interlocutors. The meanings of each lexicon are influenced by participants, setting, topic, and function.

Abstract

Tulisan ini berjudul “Slang Words And Its’ Indonesian Translation”. Penulisan ini pada umumnya bertujuan untuk menemukan terjemahan kata-kata yang mengandung kata slang atau logat populer dari bahasa Inggris ke bahasa Indonesia yang ditemukan di sebuah dialog film yang konteksnya sesuai dengan penggunaannya pada kehidupan di Indonesia. Ada dua permasalahan yang muncul pada tulisan ini, yaitu yang pertama kata slang apa saja yang digunakan dalam dialog film tersebut dan bagaimana hasil terjemahannya ke bahasa Indonesia dapat disetarakan maknanya dengan bahasa asalnya. Yang kedua, kata-kata slang mana sajakah yang dapat diperhalus terjemahannya dalam bahasa Indonesia.Penulisan naskah ini berdasarkan pada analisis dengan sumber film yang disutradarai oleh Neveldine berjudul Crank Voltage II: High Voltage. Penelitian ini dilandasi dengan teori-teori dari Larson (1998) dan Jay (1992). Data yang terkumpulkan dianalisis secara kualitatif dan dipaparkan secara deskriptif. Pertama, dialog dalam bahasa inggris diunduh di internet kemudian analisis berlanjut pada membandingkan dan memilih kata-kata yang termasuk pada kata slang untuk mendapatkan kata-kata yang sesuai untuk bahan penelitian. Setelah itu, hasil analisis dipaparkan secara deskriptif pada tulisan ini.Tidak semua kata-kata slang bisa diterjemahkan secara harfiah dan kata per kata. Kata-kata slang pada dialog film bisa juga diterjemahkan secara konotatif, ideomatik, dan eupemisme. Hal ini tergantung pada situasi dan kondisi dalam mencapai tujuan dalam proses penterjemahan. Kegunaan dari eupemisme dalam menterjemahkan beberapa dialog yang tidak sesuai dalam sebuah film sangatlah penting peranannya. Dialog-dialog tersebut tidaklah patut jika diterjemahkan secara literatur untuk menghindari kebingungan pada penonton yang menyaksikan film tersebut.
