Abstract

Leachate is the liquid waste contaminated formed due to the influx of external water into the landfill, then rinsing and dissolving the materials on the landfill. Plankon is one of the bio-indicators that can be used to see the level of pollution a body of water. Plankton analysis has been done in laboratory from water that has been taken from leachate ponds at Gampong Jawa, Banda Aceh on August 2016. The aim of this research are to determine similarity index of Plankton. This research uses survey method and to take the sample using purposive random sampling method. Taking samples of plankton was done in three stations. The results were obtained seven species of phytoplankton that is Cymbella sp., Chroococcus sp., Denticula sp., Merismopedia sp., Mougeotia sp., Nitzschia sp., and Triceratium sp. Similarity index of plankton between 1st and 3rd station is 67%, 1st and 2nd station is 60% and 2 and and 3rd station is 60%. The similarity index value indicates that the degree of similarity in the leachate pond is high.Key Words: Similarity, Plankton, leachate ponds

Abstract

The ornamental fish price is determined by the appearance of colour. Feeding naturally feed in artificial feed aimed to improve the color quality of goldfish and how long it takes to improve the color. This research was used experimental method with quantutative approach. Research used CRD (Complete Random Design) which consists of 4 treatments with different concentration includes: P0: Positive control, P1: 5%, P2: 10%, and P3: 15%, with 5 replications in each treatments. Parameter in this research are color quality improvements, length and weight accretion for 6 weeks which measured in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth week. The research result showed that feeding the pumpkin flour in artificial diet affected the color improvement of goldfish but did not affect the length and weight of goldfish. The optimal color improvement of goldfish obtained on the treatment with 15% concentration. A summary of this research is feeding the pumpkin flour in artificial diet on 42 days affected the color improvement of goldfish but did not affect the length and weight of goldfish.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian mengenai pola distribusi benthos dan faktor fisika-kimia di perairan Krueng Jreu Kecamatan Indrapuri Kabupaten Aceh Besar telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2016. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pola distribusi benthos dan kondisi Perairan Krueng Jreu Kecamatan Indrapuri Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Pengambilan sampel benthos dilakukan pada 3 stasiun, setiap stasiun dibagi menjadi 9 titik pengamatan dan dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Pengambilan sampel benthos dengan menggunakan Ekman Grab dan Sekop, selanjutnya diayak dengan ayakan bertingkat. Identifikasi benthos dilakukan di Laboratorium Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Metode mengukur pola distribusi dengan menggunakan Indeks Morisita dan faktor fisika-kimia dianalisissecara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian Indeks Morisita (Id) benthos di lokasi penelitian berkisar antara 0,0 sampai 1,34. Suhu udara berkisar antara 30 ºC sampai 32 ºC, suhu air berkisar antara 26 ºC sampai 29 ºC, salinitas adalah 0 ‰ dan pH berkisar antara 6,8 sampai 7,3. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah pola distribusi benthos di Perairan Krueng Jreu Kecamatan Indrapuri Kabupaten Aceh Besar adalah mengelompok. Faktor fisika-kimia di Perairan Krueng Jreu Kecamatan Indrapuri Kabupaten Aceh Besar menunjukkan kisaran yang mendukung untuk pertumbuhan benthos.Kata kunci: pola distribusi, benthos, indeks morisita

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pestisida organik dari ekstrak tanaman tembakau dalam mengendalikan hama keong mas pada tanaman padi di persawahan Gampong Tungkop, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Pendekatan dari penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif, metode yang digunakan untuk perubahan perilaku  adalah pendekatan deskriptif dan metode eksperimen pola Rancangan Acak Lengkap untuk efektivitas ekstrak tanaman tembakau dalam membasmi hama keong mas. Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang digunakan terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan untuk ektrak daun tembakau. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah perubahan pola perilaku keong mas dan jumlah individu yang mati. Data dianalisis dengan ANAVA pada taraf signifikasi 0,05, dilanjutkan uji lanjut Jarak Nyata Duncan. Hasil uji ANAVA menunjukkan bahwa Fhitung Ftabel pada taraf signifikan 0,05%. Pada 3 jam Pengamatan  Fhitung 3,450 Ftabel 2,895, pada 6 jam pengamatanFhitung 4,500 Ftabel 2,895, pada 9 jam pengamatn Fhitung 4,269 Ftabel 2,895, dan pada 12 jam pengamatan Fhitung 3,789 Ftabel 2,895. Jumlah kematian keong mas (P.canacilulata) yang sangat tinggi terdapat pada perlakuan P4 (20% ekstrak). Kesimpulannya adalah terdapat pengaruh pestisida organik dari ekstrak tanaman tembakau dalam kematian hama keong mas pada tanaman padi di kawasan persawahan Gampong Tungkop, Aceh Besar.Kata Kunci: Daun tembakau, Keong Mas, Hama, Dosis dan Kematian

Abstract

Research about the Spinners Gardens Spiders (orb-weaver spider) nest location  Shaped circle in coffee plantations Umah Besi Village Kecamatan Gajah Putih  Kabupaten Bener Meriah, has been carried out in November 2015. This study aimed to determine the location of the nest of orb-weaver spider species in coffee plantations Kampung Umah Besi Kecamatan  Gajah Putih Kabupaten Bener Meriah. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach and data used in accordance with the existing data in the field. The study was conducted by using purposive sampling method, set the fifth station is the station first coffee plantations adjacent to the river, the second station II coffee plantations adjacent to the road, the station to III coffee plantations adjacent to crops, station IV coffee plantations adjacent to chocolate garden, and coffee plantations V station to the adjacent houses. At the fifth station assigned each observation area, the area is one hectare. Observations were made at four observation points each station is an observation point neighborhood coffee trees, banana trees neighborhood observation point, observation point petai tree area and observation point region jackfruit tree. The results of the study of spiders nesting sites of average height nest formation of ground level ranges as between 50-230 cm. It is located at the tip of the stem, in the middle of the rod, and among the branches of the tree. The conclusions of this study spiderweb most predominantly found at a height of 50 cm to 170 cm from ground level, and the lowest at a height of 171 cm to 230 cm. Abstract

Mangrove crabs are soft shell crab molting phase Bakau (molting). Molting process in nature occurs varies with different methods that need to be done penelitian.Tujuan this research is to know the effect of cutting the foot of the street (popey) and the binding of the eyeball (ablation) to long time Bakau molting crab (Scylla serrata) male in Gampong Cot Lamkuweh Meuraxa district of Banda Aceh. The work was undertaken in April-November 2016. The method used in the cultivation process is the soft shell crab Mangrove foot path method (popey), the binding of the eyeball (ablation) and natural implemented in Gampong Cot Lamkuweh Meuraxa district of Banda Aceh. Processing data using Variant Analysis (ANOVA). The degree of survival for all treatments ranged between 60% -75%. The growth rate of the highest daily weight contained in the binding of the eyeball treatment (ablation) that is equal to 48.91%. While the number of crab molting within 40 days of the highest in the treatment of leg amputation (popey) of mangrove crab molting on day 21 until day 3. Crab molting against time ranged WiBB 20:00 - 22:00 WiBB and only a few crabs molting in the morning and afternoon. The conclusion states that the soft shell mud crab no significant effect on the degree of survival and the growth rate of daily weight (P 0.05) but significant effect on the day and time of molting mud crab. Key Words: Effect of Molting, Popey, Ablation, Mud Crab

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan (1) Untuk mengetahui spesies tumbuhan tempat peletakan kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera) dan (2) Untuk mengetahui stratifikasi tumbuhan tempat peletakan kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera) di Komplek Taman Hutan Raya Pocut Meurah Intan Kecamatan Lembah Seulawah Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif, yang menggunakan pengukuran dan observasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Survey. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan penentuan tertentu (purposive sampling). Setiap sampel yang ditemukan dilakukan pencatatan secara langsung dengan melihat objek. Dicatat spesies pohon, dan ketinggian pohon yang menjadi letak kepompong Lepidoptera.Pengolahan data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) tumbuhan tempat peletakan kepompong kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera) adalah cemara norfolk, andong, terung pipi, waru lengis, jambu air, awar-awar, pisang hias, tanjung, mosntera, cemara laut (2) tipe kepompong kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera) adalah oval, slinder, daun menggulung dan bulat lonjong dan (3) stratifikasi tempat peletakan kepompong kupu-kupu adalah 35 cm, 39 cm, 41 cm, 44 cm, 97 cm, 147 cm, 150 cm, 153 cm, 166 cm, 170 cm, 188 cm dan 215 cm dari permukaan tanah. Simpulan penilitian ini adalah (1) terdapat 10 spesies tumbuhan yang menjadi tempat peletakan kepompong kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera) di Komplek Taman Hutan Raya Pocut Meurah Intan Kecamatan Lembah Seulawah Kabupaten Aceh Besar (2) kepompong kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera) di Komplek Taman Hutan Raya Pocut Meurah Intan Kecamatan Lembah Seulawah Kabupaten Aceh Besar terdapat 4 tipe kepompong dan (3) tempat peletakan kepompong kupu-kupu (Lepidoptera) di Komplek Taman Hutan Raya Pocut Meurah Intan Kecamatan Lembah Seulawah Kabupaten Aceh Besar pada ketinggian 35 – 215 cm dari permukaan tanah. Kata kunci: Identifikasi, lokasi letak kepompong dan pocut meurah intan.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang “Pengaruh Penerapan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Terhadap Hasil Belajar dan Aktivitas Siswa pada Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati” pada bulan Agustus 2016 di SMA Negeri 1 Terangun Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati melalui penerapan pendekatan CTL dan (2) untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa dengan pendekatan CTL materi keanekaragaman hayati.Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif, metode eksperimen dengan desain Control Group Pre-test Pos-test. Pengambilan data menggunakan nilai pretest dan postest untuk hasil belajar dan lembar observasi unruk melihat aktivitas siswa.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data hasil belajar diperoleh thitung = 2,046 dan ttabel =1,670 (thitung ˃ ttabel). Data presentase rata-rata aktivitas siswa menunjukkan aktivitas siswa tergolong cukup baik (61%) dan presentase aspek aktivitas siswa tergolong cukup baik (68%).Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan CTL berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Aktivitas siswa dari 9 aspek yang baik adalah mendengar/memperhatikan penjelasan guru, berkerja sama dengan anggota kelompok, mengamati dan mengumpulkan data. Kata kunci: Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Peningkatan Hasil Belajar, Aktivitas Siswa dan Keanekaragaman Hayati

Abstract

Study about "Effect of Salinity on Growth and Vitamin C Content of Aloe (Aloe vera L.) on August-September 2016 in Garden of Agriculture Faculty and Biology Laboratory of Educational Faculty, Syiah Kuala University. The aim of the study is to determine the effect of salinity on growth and Vitamin C content of aloe vera. Study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the provision of NaCl treatment with different concentrations are: P0 = 0 mM, 150 mM = P1, P2 = 200 mM, 250 mM P3. Parameters that were measured are plant height, leaf number, leaf length, leaf thickness and content of vitamin C in the stem of aloe vera. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Further test used in plant height, leaf length and leaf thickness was LSD (Least Significance Difference ) and a further test used in the amount of leaves and content of vitamin C are a test of Duncan. The results showed that there is a real effect (F-count ≥ F 0.05) on the growth of aloe vera on the parameters plant height, leaf number, leaf length, leaf thickness and content of vitamin C. It is concluded that treatment of different salinity give negatively effect for growth, but positively effect on vitamin C content.Keywords: Growth, salinity, Vitamin C, Aloe vera L.

Abstract

Endophytic fungi that live on plant tissue has the potential to produce secondary metabolites, same as its host. This study aimed to identify the types of endophytic fungi found in leaves of Jamblang (Syzygium cumini L.). This study used a qualitative approach and exploration and experimentation method. The sample used in this research was leaves of Jamblang from Ujongbatee, Mesjid Raya sub-district, Aceh Besar. The data were collected with some procedures: (1) isolation using sterilization surface method and (2) identification of endophytic fungi conventionally  by observing microscopic and macroscopic morphological phenotypic characters then compared with the monograph. The results showed that endophytic fungi isolated from leaves of Jamblang as many as 11 species have been identified and were as much as 7 types and were grouped into 7 genus: Fusarium, Macrophopmina, Dactylella, Paecilomyces, Nigrospora, Acremonium and Colleotrichum. The types of endophytic fungi that found on immature leaves were Fusarium sp., Isolate I, Paecilomyces sp., Isolate III, Macrophomina sp., and Acremonium sp. Fusarium sp., Macrophomina sp., Paecilomyces sp., Isolate I, and Isolates II have been found in the middle-mature leaves. While in mature leaves, Dactyela sp., Fusarium sp., Nigrospora sp., Acremonium sp., and Colletotrichum sp., Isolate I, Isolate III and IV Isolates were found. Key words: isolation, identification, endophytic fungi, leaves of jamblang
