Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to ask questions and problem solving skills of learners in the learning of physics through Problem Based Learning. This research is a classroom action research with two cycles in learning using problem based learning. Data collection techniques used to determine the ability to ask is by observation while for problem-solving skills using the test. Subjects in this study were students of Senior High School X class at St. Seminary Rafael Oepoi Kupang Academic Year 2017/2018. The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in the ability to ask learners in the second cycle; (2) there is an increase of mean value of problem solving ability of learners gradually that is from 68 at initial test, 72 at cycle I and 77 in cycle II. Abstract

Noise is one of the waveforms that can be heard by human hearing. Truth is the activation of sound that can not be done. The effect of sound on humans not only affects the auditory organ, but also can affect other organs, such as narrowing of blood vessels and heart system. Truth caused by transportation is very disturbing but not all of it is caused by transportation. Wisdom can also occur in public places or facilities such as hospitals and children's playgrounds, one of the children's and children's favorite theme parks is TimeZone Mall. You can do research to measure and learn the level of playground at TimeZone Mall Taman Anggrek and TimeZone Tamini Square. The average measured result of 6 readings with calculations per 60 minutes in the orchid mall's time zone is 70.5 dB and the tamini square time zone is 65.33 dB. In the time zone of the orchid mall park and the tamini square time zone there is no value beyond the threshold limit (85 dBA). Abstract

Contamination by zink metal can cause death in humans, animals, and plants. one of the uniqueness of this metal is that it can accumulate. consuming it at a low concentration does not cause death but if it happens continuously it will accumulate into high concentrate which can cause death. Ligand ditizon is one of the ligands which can absorb zink metal at low concentration, to be more efficient then used the liquid membrane emulsion technique which enables separation without going through the process of precipitation. Variations of concentration used is 1:3 v/v, 1:1 v/v and 3:1 v/v. Optimum absorption occurs at concentrations 1:3 v/v are 90.77%. Variations of liquid membrane emulsion duration used is 5 minute, 10 minute and 15 minute. Optimum absorption at duration 5 minute are 50.22%. Optimum absorption on the interaction between concentration and liquid membrane emulsion duration are 43.73% obtained F (392.76) > Ftable (14.80). Abstract

The research on the diversity of yard plants and their utilization for learning infrastructure at the PSKD 1 school in the Jakarta to the conservation efforts. in The research was conductedat the January-April 2018through two step arethe exploration in the yard of PSKD 1 School 1 and interviews with thebiology teachers and Deputy Head. The plants found were recorded in local names, habits, and use. The data obtained were processed by using descriptive statistics. There were 93 local names of plants found in the PSKD 1Schoolyard in the Jakarta, which consisting of 86 species names belonging to 67 genus and 33 families. The Araceae, Asparagaceae, Arecaceae, and Moraceae are the families with the largest number of species are 14, 10, 5 and 5 species respectively. In the biology study the plants in the yard are utilized in the biodiversity, ecological and plant morphology materials. The pinus (Pinus merkussi) and jamblang (Syzygium cumini) are the plants that to be difficult to find in Jakarta, but still found in the PSKD school yard. Abstract

One of the changes in learning paradigm is the teacher centered learning centered student centered; the methodology which was originally more dominated by expository switches to participatory; and a more textual approach turns contextual. Reality seen in the field, students only memorize the concept and are less able to use the concept if it encounters real life problems related to the concept. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of improvement of problem solving problem of student mathematics with CTL approach on material of two linear equation system in class X SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Batu Nanggar. Population in this research is all student of class X SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Batu Nanggar T.A. 2017/2018, which consists of 10 parallel classes with an average number of students per class is 30 people. This study was conducted on two classes representing the population and has the same characteristics. Sampling and sample class determination in this study was taken randomly, using random sampling technique with the consideration that the characteristics of the class that the population is the same. Class X-10 as control class and X-3 class as experiment class. The test used to obtain data is a description form. The data in this study were analyzed by using inferential analysis statistical analysis. Inferential analysis of data is done by t-test. The results showed that there was an improvement in problem-solving ability with conventional approach with better contextual approach Keywords : Problem Solving Abilities, Contextual teaching and learning Approach.

Abstract

Composite of Ba(2-x)La(x)Fe2O5 has been made by powder metallurgy techniques. Ba(2-x)La(x)Fe2O5 were made with mixing of BaCO3, La2O3 and Fe2O3 with a specific weight ratio. The materials composite tobe made with the technique of powder metallurgy with milling method for 2 hours and heat treatment at 800 °C, 900 °C and 1000 °C for 5 hours. After the heat treatment tobe done characterization with using Scanning Electron Microcope ( SEM ) to observe the surface morphology and magnetic properties with Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) to study the magnetic properties. The composite of Ba(2-x)La(x)Fe2O5 show that the magnetic moment and the magnetic field strength decrease with increasing temperature sintering. Permittivity of Ba(2-x)La(x)Fe2O5 relatif stable af frequence 1 Hz to 100 kHz. The results of surface morphology is known that the morphology of the granulars of composite Ba(2-x)La(x)Fe2O5, regular grains with increasing temperature of sintering, the spectrum EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy) showed some dominant element indicate that is have same phase of analysis and formation composite magnetic. The composite of Ba(2-x)La(x)Fe2O5 show that the magnetic moment and the magnetic field strength decrease with increasing temperature sintering Keywords: Composite Ba(2-x)La(x)Fe2O5, magnetic, pearmitivity, surface.

Abstract

The background of this journal is because of the low understanding level of students regarding the Pythagoras theorem. It is visile from the inability of students in deciding the Hypotenuse on right triangle and students often see the Pythagoras theorem formulas as a same. Even though both formulas may not be the same, they must firstly be defined what does it mean a,b,c. Writer is interested in solving those problems by using Spiral Theodorus music box as instructional media. The basic concept that writer use during the making of this media is to connect the Pythagoras concept with Spiral Theodorus. It is because writer think Spiral Theodorus use Pythagoras concept. This musix box can be used everyday by students so that the more often student used and see the Spiral Theodorus music box, the more they will increase their understanding about Pythagoras theorem. Abstract

Socializations are generally conducted to improve the societies’ knowledge, learning skill simultaneously with character building and empowerment by illuminating the topics which are relevant to their needs (Ibrahim, Thomas and Fine, 2003; van den Ban and Hawkins, 1999). Mardikanto (1987) stated that socialization can increase the society’s participation on development, especially on chemistry awareness community development. Chemistry is a branch of science which studies about composition, structure, properties and change of matter. Chemistry is generally known as abstract science so that result the chemo-phobia and cause lower chemistry learning interest, especially on students (Leong Suk Yee and Lay Yoon, 2014). This research studies about the advantages of chemistry socialization toward the society in developing affective chemistry domain on students and community. This research quantitatively analyzes 159 data which are purposive randomly gathered from 159 participants (junior and high school students, youth organization, and students of equivalency school). The results show that socialization toward the society develops chemistry affective domain on students reaches 40% - 71% by classifying the relevant examples from daily life, explaining the topic and good responding in discussion, motivating the society and developing the arguments as the conclusion. The achievement of chemistry affective domain on society reaches 75% by accepting the topics of socialization in a good manner, following the suggestions and directions during the socialization, arranging some questions about the topic and interesting on advantages of socialization. The socialization toward the society can be the alternative of learning method to develop the chemistry affective domain. Keywords: education; chemistry affective domain; chemophobia.
