Abstract

Diese Varietat,die ich friiher nach unvollstandigem Material zu G.diminutum gerechnet habe, besitzt in beiden Geschlechtern verzweigte Blutenstande.Dieses Merkmal kommt in der Gruppe mit sitzenden Fruch-ten (Subsection Sessiles) nur bei G.leptostachyum, vor, zu dem auch die Friichte der neuen Varietat gut passen.Sie ist eine Nebelwaldpflanze grosserer Hohen und hat bei reduzierten Massen der Blatter und Bliitenstande die schmalen,kurzen mannlichen Katzchen der Tieflands-Varietat leptostachyum mit den kurzgliedrigen, grossfriichtigen weiblichen Bluten-standen der Tieflands-Varietat robustum vereinigt.In Indochina und Siam lebt eine zweite Berg-Varietat -entsprechend der weiteren Ent-fernung vom Aquator in etwas geringeren Hohen die umgekehrt die dicken mannlichen Katzchen von der Varietat robustum mit den lang-gliedrigen weiblichen Bliitenstanden von der Varietat leptostachyum vereinigt.In beiden Fallen sind die Verkiirzungs- und Verlangerungs-Tenden-zen bei den Berg-Varietaten starker als bei denen des Tieflandes.

Abstract

WIDJAJA, E.A., ASTUTI, I. P., ARINASA, I. B. K. 2004. New species of bamboos (Poaceae-Bambusoideae) from Bali. Reinwardtia 12(2):199 - 204. Five new species of bamboos from Bali are described: Bambusa ooh, Dinochloa sepang, Gigantochloa aya, Gigantochloa baliana and Gigantochloa taluh in the context of a proposal field guide to Balinese bamboos. Description including the distribution and the vernacular names are provided.

Abstract

The Herbarium Bogoriense (BO), an integrated part of the Botanical Division, Research Center for Biology, Indonesian Institute of Sciences, receives plant specimens to be identified on a daily basis.  In a six year period from 2005 to 2010, data were extracted from thousand of identification requests by hundreds of clients. Patterns were observed based on variables such as time, plant groups, client expertises, and taxonomic level.  Outputs from these analysis are being expected to become one of the pillar to build a unifying scheme for botanical research at the Herbarium Bogoriense by focusing on human resources development to deal with biodiversity issues about frequently encountered taxa.

Abstract

Ficus displays many problems fundamental to the distribution of tropical plants. As a natural g-enus, one of the most derived of its family, it shows that these problems refer not to the origin of the genus or of its major groups, but to the subsequent course of sectional evolution. Detailed morphological revision must, therefore, precede phytogeography. The facts, here epitomised, are based on monographic revision of the species of Asia and Australasia, and have not been called from other writings. Seed-dispersal in Ficus must be accompanied by dispersal of the pollinating wasp. It seems true, as Beccari pointed out, that the large banyans have an advantage in this respect over small trees impeded by the dense forest.Two subgenera, Pharmaeosycea and Urostigma, suggest a southern migration, but the third subgenus Ficus suggests a northern origin and dispersal. Pharmaeosycea, hitherto regarded as American, has 46 species in Asia and Australasia, and it comprises most of the fig-flora of New Caledonia (26 species in all, 20 endemic species of Pharmaeosycea). Ficus prolixa (Polynesia) seems related to sect. Americana of Urostigma. The F. elastica group (Queensland, Papua, Solomon Islands) seems related to the African sect. Bibracteata of Urostigma. The F, benghalensis group parallels the distribution of the Dipterocarpaceae, but does not occur in Africa.

Abstract

On the basis of comparison with other characters of two subgenera of the genus Impatiens, Semeiocardium Zoll. is proposed to be best treated as a subgenus of Impatiens (Balsaminaceae). Subgenus Semeiocardium (Zoll.) N. Utami is distinguished from the other two subgenera in the number of locular ovary and its connate wing petals. Subgenus Semeiocardium has 20 species in four sections of Impatiens in the sense of Warburg & Reiche (1896). There are 14 species of Impatiens in section Microcentron Warb., 3 species of section Macrocentron Warb, 2 species of section Brachycentron Warb., and 1 species of section Brevicalcaratae Warb.

Abstract

ERLINAWATI, I., ASIH, N. P. S., KURNIAWAN, A. & YUZAMMI. 2019. Studies on the Araceae of the Lesser Sunda Islands II: New record for Scindapsus hederaceus Miq. in Bali. Reinwardtia 18(2): 51‒64. — The native Araceae of the Lesser Sunda Islands consists of 19 genera and 33 species, of which Scindapsus hederaceus Miq. is newly reported for Bali. This species distributed from Indo-China to West and Central Malesia. Formerly, in Indonesia the species has been found in Sumatra, Java and Borneo. Short descriptions of all species found in the Lesser Sunda Islands and a key to the genera are provided.

Abstract

A preliminary taxonomic study was carried out on seven Acanthaceae species namely as Andrographis paniculata,Pseuderanthemum graciliflorum,P. carruthersii, Asystasia gangetica ssp. micrantha, Ruellia repens, Justicia comata and J. betonica.The study was undertaken to investigate the morphology of trichomes present on the surfaces of flower petal. The variations found in this study are in their types and density. Based on observation, two forms of trichomes are present in all species studies which are glandular and non-glandular trichomes. There are seven types of trichomes found in this study. Trichomes types are shown to have systematic significance that can be used to differentiate and identify certain Acanthaceae species studied.

Abstract

The genus consists of 8 species in Siam, Indochina, the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo, Java, and the Lesser Sunda Islands. It is here divided into 2 subgenera, the monotypic Schoutevia with S. cvata Korth. and Chartacalyx with S. accrescens (Mast.) Curtis as type species. Chartacalyx is divided into 2 sections, Chartacalyx and A disci flora with S. kuiistleri King as type spscies.Three species, S. curtisii, corneri, and kostermansii are considered new. S. hypoleuca Pierre is reduced to synonymy of S. ovata Korth.S. peregrines Craib is reduced to a subspecies of S. glomerata King.The varieties of S. accrescens (Mast.) Curtis are deleted. The species is divided into 3 subspecies: accrescens, stellata, and borneensis. A forma lepidota is reeognized for subspecies accrescens.S. buurmanii K. et V. and S. kunstleri King- are considered to be different species.

Abstract

SULISTYANINGSIH, L. D. 2016. Newly described and newly recorded of infraspecific taxa of Musa borneensis Becc. (Musaceae) from Sulawesi, Indonesia. Reinwardtia 16 (1): 19 - 24. - A new variety of Musa borneensis, M. borneensis var. donggalaensis Sulis. is proposed based upon specimens from Donggala, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Endemic status of M. borneensis was rejected. The description, distribution map and the identification key are provided.
