Abstract

Gunung Halimun National Park is one of the largest remnants of the tropical rain forest left in Java. The forest in this area is an interesting site to be studied due to the richness,diversity and potential of its flora. Through the intensive explorations in Mt. Halimun, Mt. Ci Timur and Mt.Panenjoan, 275 species of plant have been collected.Six species of them are determined as a rare and vulnerable plants, namely Alyxia rcinwardlii, Elaeocarpus grandiflorus, Symplocos odoratissima, Calamus adspersus, C. ciliaris and Korthalsia junghuhnii;and 10 species as "new record", namely Aidia corymbosa, Calophyllum saigonensc, Cryptocarya mentek, llemiscolopia trimera, Litsea elliptica, Sonchlu helerophyllu, Phoebe elliplica, Sarcandra glabru, Sehefflera longifolia and Tetrameri.sla glabra. Based on litterature studied. 151 species out of 275 are potentialplants and the largest group is medicinal plants (60 species).Other data can be gathered as follows 42 species of timber, 19 species of ornamental plants, 16 species of fruits, 10 species of vegetables, 6 species of rattans, 4 species of forages and 4 species of dye and tannin producing plants.

Abstract

Indonesia, walaupun sebagai negara yang kaya akan keragaman hayati, namun dewasa ini mengalami berbagai tekanan terhadap keanekaragaman ini.Tekanan-tekanan ini bersumber dari dua masalah utama yaitu pertama, pembangunan yang tanpa memperhatikan keseimbangan alam sehingga telah menimbulkan perubahan yang merusak, dan kedua, meningkatnya populasi (penduduk).Perlu langkah-langkah untuk melestarikan alam dan fungsinya di Indonesia, secara serentak dan lintas sektoral {total football),demi meningkatkan daya dukung alam itu sendiri.Oleh karena itu, pelestarian alam ini harus menjadi pola perilaku hidup.Untuk membentuk pola perilaku ini perlu dilaksanakan 2 program utama yaitu a) pendidikan pelestarian alam dan lingkungan dan b) pendidikan etika dan moral.Pendidikan konservasi dan lingkungan selain sebagai langkah awal dalam strategi pelestarian alam, juga dipandang sebagai salah satu media untuk desiminasi hasil riset dan pengembangan dalam bidang keanekagaraman hayati.Aspek diseminasi dibahas dalam makalah ini.

Abstract

Beberapa khamir tanah yang lermasuk dalam marga Debaryomyces dan Candida diisolasi dari tanah Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun.Kemampuan selulotiknya diuji dcngan menumbuhkannya pada media yang mengandung carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) sebagai sumber karbon utama. Pertumbuhan biomassa dan pH diikuti selama kultivasi. Pengamh penambahan glukosa terhadap aktivitas selulolitik juga dipelajari.Dari 23 isolat yang diuji, 19 termasuk khamir selulolitik, dan 1 isolat yang mempunyai kemampuan tertinggi dipelajari karakterisktik ezymatik sclulasenya. Penambahan glukosa menstimulasi pertumbuhan sel dan menyebabkan kebutuhan sel akan glukosa bertambah, dan sclanjutnya memacu sintesa ensim. Dari isolat-isolat yang diuji, isolat Debaryomyces S-6 mempunyai aktifitas paling tinggi yaitu sebesar 12 UI pada 96 jam inkubasi. Selama waktu kultivasi pH meningkat dari 6,5 menjadi 7. Adanya khamir yang menghidrolisa selulosa mengindikasikan khamir memegang peranan penting dalam transformasi bahan organik dalam tanah.

Abstract

Gunung Halimun National Park (GHNP) is one of the remaining tropical forest in Java, still has high interaction with people who live in the surrounding areas.Eventhough there were some studies on ecology and ethnobotany in this area,it is still lacking of information on these subjects.This paper presented the results of ethno-ecology studies at several areas in GHNP such as East Halimun sector (around Gn.kendeng) and South Halimun sector (around Pangguyangan). The studies were carried out through vegetation analysis with Random Quadrats method and Participation method with interview technique.By these methods data were collected for the Important Value Index (IVI) and the Use Value Index (UVI) of species.These values showed that rasamala (Altingia excelsa), for tree stage, has the highest IVI and UVI but for the sapling stage the IVI is low. Kianak (Castanopsis acuminatissima) for tree and sapling stages the IVI is high but the UVI is low, while for maja (Magnolia macklottii), the UVI is high but the IVI is low for both tree and sapling stages. Based on these data, analyzed was done regarding the presence and the prospect of these species, in the context of the lifestyle of the villagers.

Abstract

Bacillus sp diisolasi dari tanah Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun. Dalam media tumbuh yang mengandung Ca3(PO4)2 bakteri membentuk zona bening disekitar koloni.Glukosa digunakan dengan cepat selama kultivasi.Tinggi konsentrasi fosfat terlarut yang dibebaskan selama fase pertumbuhan menunjukkan bahwa bakteri mampu memacu pelarutan Ca3(PO4)2. Selama fase pertumbuhan terjadi hidrolisa organik fosfat (phenyl phosphate) menghasilkan phenol dan fosfat hal ini menunjukkan,bahwa Bacillus sp mampu menggunakan organik fosfat.Selama kultivasi terjadi penurunan pH sejalan dengan pelarutan Ca3(PO4)2.

Abstract

A study was conducted m determine the occurrence and distribution of Trichoderma species in forest in Gunung Halimun National Park. Location for data ollection were Cikaniki (1.100 asl), Citalahab (1.100 asl.)and Gunung Botol (1.500 asl, 1.600 asl,and 1.700 asl).Isolation of Trichoderma were from non vegetation soils, rhizosphere soils and stumps of three dominating forest trees i.e.Allingia excelsa,Caslanopsis javanicti and Schimu wallichii.The isolation method used were soil plate (non vegetation soil,Rhizosphere soil), dilution plate (non vegetation soil.Rhizosphere soil) and surface sterilization (stump).Trichoderma viride recorded as the commonest fungus of its occurrence and the most widespread in non vegetation soil in all location studied. Other Trichoderma species encountered were T. longibrachialuin, T. virens T. koningii.T. hamaium. T. pseudokoningii and T. polysporum. While in rhizosphere soils of the three dominating trees {Allingia excelsa. Schima wallichii. and Casianopsis javanica) located in Cikaniki, T. hamatum, was the commonest fungus of its occurrence. Another common was T. koningii. Other species were rarely encountered were T. longibrachialum, T. virens, T. pseudokoningii and T. polysporum, and T. fertile. In stumps of four trees in Cikaniki four species of Trichoderma were recorded of their occurrences. They were T. harzianum (Memecylon excelsum). T. koningii (S. wallichii), T. viride (A. excelsa, S. wallichii and C. javanica) and T. virens (A. excelsa and M. excelsum). It i> concluded that in forest of Gunung Halimun National Park, habitat influenced on the occurrence and distribution of Trichoderma species, but not for altitude. Trichoderma was high in diversity, dominant in occurrence and widespread in distribution.

Abstract

Begonias arc unique due to asymmetric leaves, and they have large variation on their coloration and hairiness. The flower is unisexual, male and female flowers are in separate branches.The fruit with or without wings of different size and shape.Those unique characters attract them as ornamental plants, Mts. Halimun National Park has many species of wild Begonias which can be found on the forest floor.They grow in group and have essential role in mountainous forest ecosystem. Exploration for wild Begonia within forest around Cikaniki,Cirnarasa. Koridor Cianten, Gn, Botol, Gn. Bintang Gading, Gn. Sanggabuana will be presented in this paper.

Abstract

Delapan isolat bakten diisolasi dari lanah Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun dipelajari posisi laksonomi dan karaktcr fisiuloginyu. Kemanipuan sclululilik dari 8 isolat Icrscbut diuji dengan membandingkan luas koloni dan zona bening yang terbentuk pada koloni yang ditumbuhkan pada CMC.Selanjutnya Karakteristik CMC-ase dari satu isolat yang mempunyai kemampuan sclulolitik yang paling tinggi diuji. Isolat dengan cepal menggunakan CMC scbagai sumber carbon utama pada suhu 30° C dengan keeepatan pertumbuhan 1.71 '. 1,58"',dan 1.50 ' pada pH ft. 7 dan 8. Tidak ada pertumbuhan yang bcrarti pada kultur yang nienggunakan Avicel sebagai sumber karbon utama.Aktivitas CMCase maksiinum sebcsar6 Unit terjadi pada pH 7 setclah 4 hari kultivasi. Maksimum pertumbuhan scl dicapai pada hari ke 4. Penambahan gliikosa incnstimulusi pertumbuhan binmassa tctatpi menghambat aklivitas enzim. Km dan Vmuk dari CMC-ase adalah IDmM dan2.(,8mM.d'.
