Abstract

Usually, a modern industry requires theproduction keep going on with the least interrupt as possible,butfrequently, the unscheduled maintenance will waste money in a large amount which is allocated in amodern industry needs an enormous investment. Machines with good condition generally produce a littlerelative of vibration but with increase in service life, the vibration of machine will increase. In somecondition, the increase in quite drastic vibration probablymay occur. Thisphenomenon is an indicator thatthe machine must have an immediate repair. This vibration spectrum analysis is tried to conductedfor thetransmission system of differential gear. By means to use the alternative tools beside DSA (Dynamic SignalAnalyzer), that is CREATIVE SOUNDBLASTER AUDIGY LS5.1 and MATLAB 6.5 whichhave Fast FourierTransform facility and so, can to know the real condition gear by time domain andfrequency domain. Thevibration spectrum analysiswhich donetofocus byidentification signal ofproblem which comebygear meshlikegear meshfrequency ofhypoidgear andside gear.

Abstract

Performance Test Of Biomass Bubbling Fluidized Bed Gassifier Using Clay CatalystDesign of catalytic bubbling fluidized-bed gasifier operate on temperature 650-750"C using thecheapness ofclay catalyst withoutforming oftar emission compared to silica sand catalyst (13%) and orFCC(1%). Research ofperformance test ofpilot-planthavebeen doneby counted25 timessince year of2004 by biomass feeding in theform ofsawdust, rice husk, corn stem, peanuts shell. Gas product canmove generator diesel 25kWe with calorie value which still lower (<10MJ/ m3), whereas at usage ofcornstemfeeding counted 26 kgs/h at diesel generator 30 kWe, success economize diesel fuel 25% withattainment ofefficiency 51% on gasification temperature of 733"C Still require to improve stability andduration of material feeding system, mixing system design of feeding materialscatalyst, and alsooptimation ofgasification operation condition.

Abstract

Corrosion Studies on SS-321 in Sodium-Chloride Solution Medium. Experimentalcorrosion studies on commercial SS-321 have been carried out. The experiments were carried out in asodium chloride medium with a concentration variation of 0.4 mol. 0.5 mol, 0.6 mol, and 0.7 molcorresponding topH values of 7.0, respectively. The experiments were carried out using a type ofM-273EG&G potentiostat/galvanometer test instrument. The post-corrosion samples microstructure wereanalyzed with the aid of EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy) equipped SEM instrument to detect thepresence of any viable corrosion byproducts. Forfurther verification x-ray diffraction method was alsoused to detect anypossible emerging corrosion byproducts on the samples surfaces. Experimentalresultsconfirm that AISl-321 commercial alloys immersed in a sodium chloride corrosion medium with avariation of concentration experience very little or almost no corrosion, and that according to the socalledFontana s criteria these test-materials turn out to have an excellent resistance toward sodiumchloriccorrosion. This is also evidenced by the very low corrosion rate value measured in this study.EDSstudy and X-ray diffraction results indicate that thepossible ensuing corrosion byproducts are ironoxides, chrome oxides, iron chlorides, and nickel hydrideoxide.

Abstract

PEMBUATAN MATERIAL FERITIK BARU UNTUK BAHAN PENUKAR PANAS. Telahdilakukan pembuatan bahan feritik baru yang dinamakan dengan F-l sebagai bahan studi untuk bahanpenukar panas reaktor daya. Pembuatan bahan paduan ini dilakukan dengan teknik metallurgi serbuk.Komponen unsur-unsur paduannya adalah Fe, Cr, Si, Mn, C, dan Ti. Masing-masing komponen bahanditentukan persen beratnya dan ditimbang kemudian dicampur dan diaduk dengan ball milling selama 46 jam.Sampel yang dibuat berupa pelet dan setiap sampel terdiri dari campuran serbuk tersebut diatas dengan massa5 gram dan dikompaksi dengan die berukuran diameter dalam 1,5 cm, dengan tekanan sekitar 8000 psi.Masing-masing sampel ditimbang dan diukur dimensinya dan dihitung massa jenisnya sebelum disinter.Kemudian sampel disinter pada temperatur sekitar 1200°C selama 2 jam. Setelah proses sinter massa sampelditimbang dan diukur ulang dimensinya untuk mengukur ulang rapat massanya; hasilnya adalah sekitar7,9 gr cm"3. Sedangkan bilangan kekerasan mikro Vickers rata-ratanya berada dalam kisaran 160-165. Polaintensitas difraksi sinar-X menunjukkan bahwa sampel yang dibuat memiliki struktur kristal bcc, sesuaidengan tipe fasa feritik. Sedangkan butir fasa terbanyak berbentuk serpihan kecil dan sebagian butir jugaberbentuk dendritik. Dari nilai-nilai kerapatan maupun kekerasan mikro Vickers yang berada disekitar nilaidari bahan SS-405 dan SS-430, maka bahan feritik baru ini diharapkan memiliki prospek yang baik sebagaibahan alternatif yang masuk dalam kelompok bahan grade kelas II {nonhardenable).

Abstract

Due to progressively expand ofthe complication machine structure, hence the accurate mathematicsmodels will become important in order machine structure design. But sometimes we found that themathematics modeling cannot forecast the dynamics behavior in comparison with real dynamicscharacteristic ofthe structure. Thatis becauseofinaccurate whendetermining the parameter whenmodellingprocess. In order to get the real dynamics characteristic, we need a teqnique to identify the dynamicscharacteristic of the structure by measuringfrequency respon function, while the constraint often is verydifficult to get the damping matrix from data containing noise. At this handing out method, writer willestimate mass, stiffness and damping matrix which developed by Chen, Ju And Tsuei (1996) to determinedynamics characteristic ofrotating rotor.

Abstract

Vibration Analysis to Identity Gearmesh on Spur Gears Transmission by UsingLabVIEW Software. Spectrum vibration analysis which is done and focus on gearmesh. In thisexperiment, transmission ofspur gears is employed which is completed by a double-rotors kit model as aload. This experiment, which is done by using two kinds oflubrication with different viscosity such asSAE 20W-50 and SAE 15W-50. Vibration analysis employs alternative software, Lab VIEW that has highsimplicity andflexibility in making the customization as necessary. LabVIEW may be used to monitor themachine condition continuously and to acquire data when needed. Thus, the characteristic vibrationanalysis may be observed and ifan abnormal condition takes place, the solution may be required.

Abstract

Stress Distribution Analysis on Bolt Head with Various Fillets Using PhotoelasticityMethod. A geometry modification can be use to reduce stress concentration. This research isinvestigating the influence offillet radius in the head ofbolt. Different than most commonbolt, thefillet ismade at the bottom surface of head around its neck. To show the stress distribution we use classicalexperimental mechanics method, photo elasticity. Loading comesfrom a lead screw and measured by aload cell connected to a computer data logger. As the result, a 5 mm fillet radius may reduce maximumshear stress up to 35%than nofillet radius, so its effective to minimize stress concentration in head bolt.

Abstract

Combination of Prepentive and Reactive Maintenance Using Dynamic SystemSimulation. Maintenance system holds an important role in a company establishment. Less optimal ofmaintenance system will cause disturbance to the production process. To overcome this problem, aquantitative approach model contains of complexion factors was proposed as a solution. Base on thismodel, simulation ofsolution is made by using dynamic system principle and Powersim software. Fromthree scenario wich have been proposed, the scenario third is most optimal, that is suppressingmaintenance costfraction to 5 %value, increasing thepreventive maintenance (PM- 10)fraction valueand decreasing valuefraction ofreactivemaintenance (RM- 0.8).

Abstract

The composite materials of (Agl)„rffi-AliOj),,? and (Agl)„5(p-Al20})ll5 have been madebysolid state reaction mixing between Agl with /3-AI20j. The results show that the conductivity valuesof (AgOoJp-AliOj),,- were 5.98xW5 to 9.47xIO3 S/m, and the conductivity values of (Agl),l5(p-Al?Os),)j were 0.33x/04 to 4.47x/03 S/m asfunction of temperature. The conductivity of materialscompositedecreased at transition temperature, but the conductivity ofAgl increased with temperature.The activation energy of (Agl)o.}(/3-A/20})„- and (Agl)„5(P-Al203),,5 relative stable with value ofactivation energy between 0.74xl02" J to 2.80x102" J. The diffraction peaks of (Agl),, /fi-Al:Oj)„. -and(AgQojffi-dljOjJoj have thepeak ofAgl.
