Abstract

Background: Aggressive behavior has become a severe behavioral problem in adolescents recently. Some cases have even been deemed an emergency for mental health behavior in adolescents. Many factors are suspected to be associated with aggressive behavior, one of which is anxiety. Anxiety and aggressive behavior remain widely studied in children, but the number of studies is limited to middle and late adolescents. In addition, there is no clear description of the psychosocial aspects between anxiety and aggressive behavior in adolescents based on the psychosocial development tasks. Objective: The study aims to identify the association between adolescents’ anxiety and aggressive behavior. Methods: The research used an analytical correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted in senior high schools in Surakarta in July 2021. Subjects were taken using convenience sampling, in which 626 students filled out the online questionnaire, while 32 students did not complete some items resulting in a total sample of 594 respondents. Then, the research instruments employed DASS 21 for anxiety and Buss Perry Questionnaire for aggressive behavior. The statistical analysis then utilized the Pearson product-moment test. Results: The research revealed that most respondents were female (67,8%). The respondents had a bullying victim history (44.8%), a violence victim history (13.3%), and parental divorce history (10.3%). The statistical test also uncovered a significant correlation between anxiety and aggressive behavior (p-value 0.0001, r: 0.649, OR:7.86, CI 95%).Conclusion: The finding demonstrates the association between adolescents’ anxiety and aggressive behavior. Consequently, the community mental health nurses should organize a partnership mental health program with the senior high schools to manage adolescent anxiety and aggressive behavior

Abstract

Background: Incivility is disruptive behavior that can cause physiological or psychological distress to those involved. It can escalate into a potentially dangerous situation, such as serious suicidal tendencies and engaging in self-injury if left untreated. Incivility can be caused by various factors, one of which is stress. Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between incivility and stress among final-year nursing students. Method: This study employed a quantitative research method using a correlation approach. It utilized simple random sampling. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Spearman rank test. The instruments included the INE-R/Incivility in Nursing Education-Revision (Cronbach Alpha 0.881-0.876) and the PSS/Perceived Stress Scale (Cronbach Alpha 0.684). This study recruited 200 students, the majority of whom were female (87.5%). Result: This study revealed students' perceived levels of incivility (Mean 20.93, SD 6.67); perceived frequency of incivility (Mean 18.01, SD 5.18); and perceived stress (Mean 22.01, SD 4.01). Additionally, this study discovered significant relationships between students' perceived levels of incivility and stress (p-value 0.010, r 0.283) and their perceived frequency of incivility and stress (p-value 0.001, r 0.269). Conclusion: Incivility has been associated with stress levels in nursing students. Nursing education must foster a positive learning environment. This study provided evidence for a correlation between incivility and stress in nursing students transitioning from blended to fully online learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Background: Doing activities that burden the back, such as bending over for a long time and lifting weights in the wrong position, can cause injury to the spine, leaving back pain. Thoracic Lumbar Sacral Orthosis Brace (TLSO Brace) is a tool used to support the spine so that it can prevent such an injury. Objective:This research aims to design and pilot a new ergonomic TLSO Brace that can be used to improve posture, reduce back pain and prevent back pain. Methods: This research is divided into several stages, namely designing, manufacturing, and testing. Results: The results show that the level of ergonomics is mainly in the Good category. The use of the TLSO Brace was proven effective in reducing back pain intensity (p0.0001); the average pain was reduced after 14 minutes. The results also found that all respondents who used the brace at work felt no back pain. It can be seen that the lordosis back arch becomes upright after using it, meaning the tool also improves posture. Conclusions: The ergonomic TLSO Brace has been created and can improve body posture, reduce pain intensity and prevent back pain from recurring.

Abstract

Exercise promotes health in people with diabetes. Weight-bearing activities increase the risk of foot ulcers. Air-pressure shoes may relieve high plantar pressure. Nevertheless, no study has investigated whether air-pressure shoes affect the plantar foot. A repeated measures study design, with five healthy subjects were tested with three inner air pressures (80, 160, and 240 mmHg) and 20 minutes of walking to examine their effects on peak plantar pressure (PPP). PPP after walking was measured from the forefoot in the big toe (T1), first metatarsal head (M1), and second metatarsal head (M2). We used a one-way ANOVA to analyze the results. We found that after walking for 20 min, inner air pressure significantly affected plantar pressure in the M1 and M2 (P = 0.008 and 0.006, respectively). Regarding the inner air pressure effect, there was a significant difference in the M1 head between 80 and 240 mmHg (274.2 ± 35.6 kPa vs. 689.4 ± 106.3 kPa, P = 0.002) at 20 minutes of walking duration. Moreover, there was a significant difference in the M2 head between 80 mmHg and 240 mmHg (250.6 ± 30.1 kPa vs. 572.4 ± 87.3 kPa, P = 0.002) and 160 and 240 mmHg (396.6 ± 35.3.7 kPa vs. 572.4 ± 87.3 kPa, P = 0.050). This finding is significant because the higher inner air pressure shoes can increase plantar pressure compared to 80 mmHg inner air pressure. This study suggests that individuals who are at high risk of developing foot ulcers should wear shoes with an inner air insole (80 mmHg).

Abstract

Background: The percentage of exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 0-5 months was 71.58% in 2021. This figure is still below the target of 80%. Meanwhile, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in West Java was recorded at 77.00% in 2022. Breastfeeding revolves around two mechanisms, namely, production and release. Objective: To determine the effect of the combination of oketani massage and oxytocin massage on breastmilk production in postpartum mothers. Methods: This research was conducted from July to November 2022 at the L TPMB. This study utilized a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pre and post-test with a control design. The sample consisted of 100 respondents divided into experimental and control groups. In this case, the intervention was given to the experimental group in the form of oxytocin massage and oketani massage 1 to 2 times a day for 3 days for 3-5 minutes. Meanwhile, the control group was only given oxytocin massage treatment. The instrument used in this study was the Observation Sheet Procedure to identify the breastmilk production in postpartum mothers on day 1 and was measured again on day 7 through the smooth release of breastmilk. In addition, the instrument was made by the researcher according to Standard Operation Procedures. The analysis used was the man Whitney test. Result: Oketani massage could be performed as an independent and routine prophylactic intervention. Conclusion: The combination of oketani massage and oxytocin massage had a significant effect on breastmilk adequacy.
