Abstract

Rubber or rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis) is one of the export commodities that become the source of income for the state income. From year to year, the increasing demand for rubber in various areas is very significant. Dusun IV Bandar Sidomulyo is a hamlet located in Lempuyang Bandar Village, Way Pengubuan Subdistrict, Central Lampung Regency with ± 200 houses where source of livelihood is still depend on rubber plantation. So the residents must be willing to peel the skin of rubber plants at early days to get maximum rubber yield. The prototype of Automatic Rubber Tree Tool based on Microcontroller that has been designed works peeling the bark of a tree with depth 1,5 mm with Duwet or Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) trees as an object, so that the tool can be used to peel rubber automatically on rubber trees generally.

Abstract

This paper presents performance analysis of synchronous generator: a case study in steam power plant PT POMI Paiton unit 7 Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia. The steam power plant is the most powerful in Indonesia. The dominance of this type of power plant can be seen from statistical data that until the end of 2018 there were 48.43% of steam power plants out of the total installed capacity of national plants. Generators used in steam power plants are generally of the synchronous generator type, which in its operation always experiences dynamics from time to time as the load changes in electricity. In this study, an analysis of the performance of synchronous generators has been carried out concerning changes in electricity load. Synchronous generator performance analysis includes output voltage, active power, reactive power, power factor, and generator efficiency. The steam power plant in this study is the largest capacity power plant in Indonesia, thus providing an important role in the supply of electric power. Based on the results of the study, it has been shown that although the load dynamics that experience changes are very dynamic, the generator performance still has good performance.

Abstract

Collision avoidance multiple access plays a significant role in WirelessSensor Networks (WSN) as there may have a huge number of nodes in a network. Therefore, it has big chance to conflict when they want to send a packet to the server atthe same time. In our work, we focus on the sensor networks with two-tier network designarchitecture that composed of simple function nodes and presented performance analysisof the proposed collision avoidance multiple access protocol for Wireless SensorNetworks, with emphasis on the contention process exercising in each contention subframe. Then we also examine the efficiency of the overall system based on the simulationresults. The results shows that using different parameter of n, m, and k then the successfulprobability tends to increase, however after certain value of n, the successful probabilitywill decrease. Regarding the overall system efficiency, Esys, in order to get the optimumvalue of system efficiency, we have to maximize α. It is obvious that the bigger value of βwill produce bigger value of α. That is mean a shorter contention sub-frame leads to abetter efficiency of the systems, if Lr (average length of transmission sub-frame) is fixed.

Abstract

This paper presents an electric back sprayer based on the attributes required by sprayer users with the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology by optimizing sprayers owned by farmers. In agriculture, the process of crop management and care and pest control is carried out routinely to obtain optimal results. The technical implementation of these efforts is carried out through soil and air media by spraying the plant organs. To keep the pressure and spray results stable, continuous pumping is required. This resulted in certainly more energy needed. Based on the results of research on farmers using a sprayer, the type that is widely used is the type of back sprayer. However, in the use of back type sprayers, farmers still experience problems. Problems encountered in using a back sprayer will be reviewed and overcome by developing a sprayer based on the wishes of the farmer. The design of the back sprayer using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method is more appropriate to be used in determining the attributes of the development of a back sprayer following the wishes of the fertilizer sprayer user. The resulting sprayer design is expected to be able to overcome the weaknesses in the back sprayer without having to procure a new sprayer, where the problem of the non-constant pressure level in pumping can be overcome.

Abstract

The development of science and technology is increasing every day, especially in the field of electronics and control systems. This is marked by the rapid progress that has occurred with the creation of increasingly sophisticated electronic devices and all systems have gone from conventional to automatic. Many benefits are obtained from the rapid development in the field of electronics and control systems including being able to assist humans in completing their tasks, increasing human productivity, and increasing the level of effectiveness in doing work. Departing from this, then in this study designed an automatic body ideal value calculation tool that is controlled by a microcontroller chip using C language programming. This study provides another alternative in measuring mass values, height values, and displaying a BMI (Body Mass Index) ) subject automatically. The working system is quite easy where the subject only climbs the scales, the height measuring device with ultrasonic sensors PING)) will work to measure the subject's height, the scales equipped with the HX711 module will measure the mass value of the subject. Then, the microcontroller will process the height value, and the mass value of the subject to calculate the subject's BMI
