Abstract

Teaching material supplements were developed based on an analysis of students' needs in the use of learning resources used in everyday life. In the process of learning biology, understanding the concept is very important to be mastered by students. Concept understanding helps students remember the lessons they have learned over a long period of time. This study aims to determine the feasibility of teaching material supplements in biology learning. This research is a Research and Development study which refers to the steps (1) potential and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design; (4) design validation; (5) design revision; (6) product testing; (7) product revision; (8) final production. The parameters of the feasibility of teaching material supplements are seen from the material validation, media validation, teacher responses, student responses and concept understanding tests. The results of the study obtained data that the validity of the material showed a score of 83.7% with very valid criteria, the validity of the media showed a score of 95.1% with very valid criteria, the responses of students' responses showed 82.625% results with very feasible criteria, the teacher's response showed 86.6% results with very feasible criteria. as well as classical completeness of the concept understanding test reached 91.17% provided that students achieved a mastery score of ≥ 70 and an average n-gain of 0.55 in the moderate category. The conclusion of this research is that shisha research-based teaching material supplements are suitable for use as learning materials on the circulatory system.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the feasibility and effectiveness of Tour in Cell interactive media to improve the cognitive skills of high school/MA students. This research uses Research and Development methods consisting of needs analysis, data collection, product design, media validation and design by experts, design revisions, small-scale product trials, product revisions, and wide-scale product trials. Product design in the form of Interactive Media Tour in Cell with material validity of 4.33 including category is very feasible 86.67% and media display validity of 4.13 including category is very feasible with a percentage of 82.72%. At the wide-scale trial stage, the improvement in student learning outcomes with the N-gain test resulted in an average N-gain score of 0.59 with moderate criteria. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the media Tour in Cell developed is worth using.

Abstract

The development of teaching materials are adapted to the needs of students to complement the teaching materials that are already available in schools. The purpose of this study was to develop and determine the feasibility of immune system teaching materials to practice understanding the concepts of SMA / MA students. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development design. The sample of this study consisted of 3 classes, XII MIPA 1, XII MIPA 2 and XI MIPA 4 SMAN 10 Semarang in the academic year 2020/2021. The data collection technique is done with interviews, validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, and conceptual understanding questions. This teaching material is said to be feasible if it reaches a validation score of media experts, material expert validation, teacher validation, teacher responses, and student responses ≥51%. Students are said to have a good understanding of the concept of the immune system material if the total average score is ≥70. The results showed that the teaching materials prepared included very feasible criteria (media validation 78.65%, material validation 90.22%, teacher validation 93.9%, teacher responses 98%, student responses 81.13%). The results of the students' conceptual understanding test after using the teaching materials obtained a total average score of 74.5. The conclusion of this study is that the immune system teaching materials are very suitable for use in learning biology and can be used to train students' understanding of concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student learning outcomes and collaboration skills by applying the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning tool model with Quiz Kahoot on the reproductive system material. This type of research is the Pre-Experimental Design with the type of One-Shot Case Study. The sample used was 15 students from class XI MIPA 1 with purposive sampling technique. Students' cognitive learning outcomes were analyzed descriptively quantitatively with the N-gain test and t-test or the difference between the two means. The results of the N-gain test for 15 students of class XI MIPA 1 were 0.4 with moderate criteria. The results of the t-test analysis or the difference between the two mean values ​​obtained sig. 0.002 <0.05, then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest. In addition, there is also an increase in student collaboration obtained from the data from the observation and trial stages. This is supported by the results of student responses related to the application of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning tool model with Quiz Kahoot, which obtained an average student score of 84.17 with very good criteria. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning device with Quiz Kahoot to improve student learning outcomes and collaboration skills is good for use in SMA PGRI 02 Kayen Pati.

Abstract

Science literacy skills are needed by students in the face of the challenges of the XXI century. Based on data from PISA study results, students' science literacy skills in Indonesia in 2015-2018 did not increase significantly. In 2018, Indonesian students' science literacy was ranked 36th out of 40 participating countries with a score of 396. The score is still well below the PISA International average score of 489. Teaching materials are one of the factors that can affect the level of science literacy skills of students. Existing teaching materials do not meet the balanced comparison of science literacy category content. Therefore, a textbook in the form of a science literacy-based textbook is compiled that has a balanced comparison of science literacy category content. The purpose of this study is to know the characteristics, validity and estimation of the practicality of the teaching materials developed. The research method used is R&D with ADDIE model. But in this study, only four stages were conducted, namely Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation. Implementation stage is not done because during the Covid-19 pandemic, students do WFH learning so that researchers can not implement Booklet Layer Earth in the learning process in the classroom. The booklet developed meets the comparison of science literacy category content in teaching materials, namely 47.06% : 17.65% : 17.65% : 17.65%. Validity test results showed that science literacy-based booklets were eligible to be used as teaching materials with media expert percentages of 85.00% and 99.00% and material experts of 86.90% and 95.00%. Teachers' responses to the materials developed obtained the Excellent criteria with percentages of 91.25% and 90.00%. Students also gave positive responses to teaching materials with Excellent criteria and obtained an average percentage of 84.96%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of electronic worksheet (E-LKPD) based on problem solving on plant tissue to improve the ability to analyze and data presentation of high school students'. The research was Pre-Experimental using One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The population of this research is class XI of high school in odd semesters. The method in taking the sample was Purposive Sampling, with a sample size of one class. The result showed that most of the students' scores had completed the KKM, there was a difference in the average score before and after learning using E-LKPD based problem solving, and there was increase in N-gain in the high category for the ability to analyze and an increase in N-gain in medium category for data presentation ability. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that E-LKPD based on problem solving in plant tissue learning is effective in improving the ability to analyze and data presentation of high school students'.

Abstract

Results of the observation shows that students are still passive during the learning process in which influence their learning achievement. A learning model of Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFaE) is effective to make the students explain the materials to their friends also to train students in expressing their ideas bravely. This study combines SFaE with Roundhouse diagram that makes students easier to understand and explain the materials of learning. The research was conducted for the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Jekulo. A purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique, and two classes were used as the sample. The T-test shows that the t-value is more than t-table for 2.71 > 1.67 with which means H0 is rejected. This condition means that the average results of the experimental class is higher than the control class. The results of analysis on students’activity in the experimantal class is around 91.76% students are in the category of active until very active, and 8.33% are in the category of medium. In the control class, around 80.56% students are in the category of active until very active, and 19.44% are in the category of medium. In conclusion, the use of learning model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFaE) with a Roundhouse diagram is effective to improve students’activity and achievement in the learning material of Virus.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity and feasibility of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) approach to Exploring the Surrounding Nature (JAS) for Class X High School Plant Materials. This LKPD is a teaching material used for observation activities, contains material, activities and activity guides that are carried out by students independently by utilizing the surrounding environment, and evaluation questions. Research on LKPD development with a JAS approach refers to the development procedure according to Sugiyono (2016) which is adapted to research needs. The procedure for developing LKPD with a JAS approach includes potentials and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, product trials, product revisions, and limited production. The results of this study include qualitative data obtained from the validity of the LKPD instrument with the JAS approach and student responses. The results of LKPD validity obtained from media expert validation are 93.73% with very valid criteria, material expert validation is 85.15% with valid criteria, and biology teacher validation is 94.32% with very valid criteria. The level of validity of the JAS components by media expert validators is 95.83% with very valid criteria and by material expert validators 87.50% with valid criteria. Student response data is used to determine student responses to the JAS Approach LKPD and LKPD can be used in online learning. LKPD can be used in online learning with the category of student responses being very positive and the average score of responses reaching 3.31. Thus, the LKPD with the JAS approach is stated to be able to be implemented in learning activities. However, it is still necessary to conduct further trials to determine its effectiveness as an alternative biology teaching material and to determine the ability of LKPD to increase students' motivation to carry out activities during online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of validity of Student Worksheet environmental change as learning resources for class X student of SMA Negeri 2 Wonosobo to grow attitude of environmental cleanliness. This type of research is research and development (Research of Development). The research and development model used is a procedural model. The types of instruments needed to measure the effectiveness of the teaching materials developed is questionnaires. The data analysis in this study is the analysis of validity. Analysis of non-test instrument data in this study used descriptive data analysis techniques using a Likert Scale. The results showed that the research and development that had been carried out resulted in a learning medium, namely the Student Worksheet (LKPD) environmental change as learning resources for class X student of SMA Negeri 2 Wonosobo to grow attitude of environmental cleanliness. From these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of LKPD shows results that meet the feasibility. The need for LKPD development on waste management as a learning resource for students who are able to foster an attitude of environmental conservation on environmental change materials, including appearance, consistency, use of letters, physical criteria, material/quality of content, presentation and language. These needs are important to be developed so that students are more active and can stimulate students to think critically about the material being studied by class X students of SMA Negeri 2 Wonosobo.

Abstract

This study aims to test the validity of the Virus Material Booklet as a teaching material supplement and to test the effectiveness of the booklet in increasing the learning interest of class X students. This research is included in R&D research with a 4D model but only up to 3 stages or 3D. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Tigapanah in class X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 3, which consisted of 30 students and 15 students. Instruments in the form of validation sheets and measurement sheets of increasing student interest in learning. The results of the test of the validity of the virus material booklet are in the valid category to be used as a teaching material supplement, but in terms of increasing interest in learning the booklet has not been effective because the increase in student interest in learning is in the low category.
