Abstract

The Effect of Lateral Branch Trimming Against Results and Quality of Long Bean Seeds (Vigna sinensis L.) Long beans include shabby legume-shaped families that sprout or spread and are able to bind free nitrogen from the air through symbiosis with rhizobium bacteria. Long bean plant is an indeterminate type of plant that is vegetative phase that continues to be active even though it has entered the generative phase. Lateral branch in long beans will continue to grow, so that trimming measures are needed so that the competition for the use of assimilate result from photosynthesis can be reduced and can be used fully when the generative phase takes place. This study aims to determine the effect of lateral branch trimming on the yield and quality of long beans seeds. The method used is paired T test system. The treatments tested were trimming of lateral branches and without trimming of lateral branches. Each treatment was repeated 25 times and each replication was represented by 3 plants. Data were analyzed using t-test. The result showed that the treatment of lateral trimming of long bean plants was able to produce higher leaf chlorophyll content compared to those that were not trimmed, the treatment of lateral branch trimming of long bean plants was able to produce seeds of 14,09 tons/ha on the trimmed ones and 5,24 tons/ha on the untrimmed and lateral branch trimming treatment of long bean plants was able to produce 1000 seed weight of 190,65 g which was trimmed and 165,76 g on the non trimmed. Thus it was also able increase the germination capacity by 92% in the trimmed one and 87% in the non-trimmed one.

Abstract

Influence of Insecticide With an Active Ingredient Abamektin 18 g/l against Community Structure of Planthopper and Leafhopper Predator on Rice (Oryza sativa L.) (Graminae) This research was conducted in Buwit Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency, from September until November 2017. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of insecticide with active ingredient Abamektin 18 g /l to diversity, abundance, dominance and functional relationship of predator to Planthoppers and Leafhoppers on ricefield. The study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments (2,00 cc/l; 1,50 cc/l; 1,00 cc/l; 0,50 cc/l; 0 cc/l) with 5 replications. The result of this research showed that insecticide with active ingredient Abamektin 18 g /l have significant effect to diversity and abundance of predator popolation with low predator diversity index. Abundance of predator populations showed significant differences between control and treatment on all nine types of predators founded. Insecticides with active ingredient Abamektin 18 g/l have a significant effect on predator domination. From the nine types of predators founded, in general Paederus fuscipes most dominance. Lycosa pseudoannulata is the most effective predator in controlling planthopper pests that have a strong functional relationships with plant hopper pests.

Abstract

Effectiveness Of Some Extract Of Plants Leaf To Cabbage Crop Caterpillar Crocidolomia pavonana F. (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) In The Field Cabbage crop caterpillar (Crocidolomia pavonana F.) is one of the most important pests in cabbage plants. This caterpillar is capable todecreasing cabbage production. This study was conducted in order to determinethe ability of some extracts of leaf plants such as: Chromolaena odorata L., Lantana camara L, Tithonia diversifoliaHemsl., and Nicotiana tabacum L., to suppress the development of the population, the most effective leaf extract against Crocidolomia pavonana F.and its effect on quality of cabbage leaves. This study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments and replicated 5 times. This study was done from November 2017 to February 2018. The results showed that from the 4 plants extracts that significantly affect the population ofCrocidolomia pavonana F compare to control treatment. The highest population decline was found in C. odorata leaf extract of 1.8 /plants and T. diversifolia of 1.8 /plant. In the effectivity test of leaf extract proved able to suppress population of C. pavonana with different potency. The result of observation of cabbage crop weight showed that the treatment of plant extract had significantly effect on the weight of cabbage. Treatment with C. odorata leaf extract had higher average cabbage weight compared to other treatment which was 2.1 kg, while the lowest weight of cabbage was 1.4 kg. The average yield of cabbage crop quality with different quality categories. In treatment with C. odorata extract, L. camara, T. diversifolia, and N. tabacum resulted in crop quality with quality category 2.

Abstract

The effect of Pseudomonas fluorescens and Trichoderma spp. Applications against Clubroot Disease and Growth of Cabbage (Brassica oleracea L.) in Candikuning Village, Tabanan, Bali The research was aimed to find the effectiveness of P. fluorescens and Trichoderma spp. in suppressing clubroot disease caused by P. brassicae Wor. and increasing the growth of cabbage plants as well. The microbes treatments were set on randomized block design, consisting of 36 treatments and 3 replications. The variables observed were percentage of attack, number of clubroot, microbial density, plant height, leaf area, chlorophyll contents, and plant weight,. The results showed that the combination of P. fluorescens and Trichoderma spp. was able to suppress the percentage of pathogen attack and increase the growth of cabbage plants as well. The most effective treatment was combination between P. fluorescens-1 and Trichoderma-4, followed by combination treatment of P. fluorescens-1 and Trichoderma-3 and then P. fluorescens-1 and Trichoderma-5.

Abstract

The Effect Of Urea Fertilizer Dosage On The Growth Of Spinach Plants Remove White (Amaranthus tricolor L.) Giving nutrient into the soil is very important for the growth of plants. This study aims to find out the appropriate dosage of urea fertilizer to increase the growth of spinach plants, so that can boost the production of white spinach. This research was conducted on July 12th until the date of August 09th 2017, in experimental garden of Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University. This study used a randomized block design (RAK), the treatment given was a dosage of urea fertilizer consisting of seven treatment level and four replications. Parameters observed and analyzed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area each plant, root length, fresh weight of plant and dry weight of plant. Before planting the soil samples were analyzed in the laboratory of the Udayana University Faculty of Agriculture to find out the N content in the soil to be used in this study. The results showed that the application of real urea fertilizer can increase the growth of white spinach plant. The highest growth was obtained at the dosage of 0.9 g urea/polybag (U3) with average dry weight of 3.98 g / plant or increased by 437,83% compared to control which yield 0.74 g/plant.

Abstract

Influence of Seedling Age of Rootstock and Technique of Grafting to Growth of Guava Seedlings (Psidium guajava L.) The age of rootstock seedlings and grafting techniques can influence the success of plant propagation by grafting. The alternative that can be done is to use some age of rootstock seedlings and the technique of grafting in the propagation of guava plants. The experiment was conducted in farmer's garden located in Banjar Tiyingan, Pelaga Village, Petang Dist. Badung, Bali. The research was started from May 29, 2017 - August 11, 2017. The research used factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD).The first factor was the age of seedlings of guava rootstock, with the age of 3, 4 and 5 month seedlings and the second factor was the V grafting technique and the Cip grafting technique. The result of the research showed that the interaction between the treatment of seed aged and the grafting technique had significant effect on the variable of plant age 75 days after grafted but on the other variable has not significant effect. Age of real seeds can increase the percentage of live grafting, the number of buds at seedling aged 60 days after grafting, the long of buds at aged 45 days after grafting,the diameter of buds at aged 60 and 75 days after grafting. Age of seeds 5 months provide the real growth better than 3 months and 4 months. The real grafting technique can increase the number of buds at seedling aged 30days after grafting, the long of buds at aged 30 days after grafting, totally leaves of the plants at aged 45 and 75 days after grafting, buds’ diameter in each observations, leaf area on eachplantataged 45 days after grafting. The real V grafting technique provide the growth of guava seeds better than the Cip grafting technique.
