Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of crude fiber level in rations to feed consumption, body weight, body weight gain, carcass weight, breast weight and thigh weights male duck. Male ducks 3 weeks old were divided into four treatments, each treatment ration is repeated four times using four ducks each replication. Ration of treatment given to duck experiment with the level of crude fiber 5, 10, 15, and 20%. Treatment rations containing protein (16%) and ME (2600 kcal/kg). The main source of crude fiber in the diet is fine bran. Data were analyzed using completely randomized design direction, then the test with Duncan Multiple Range Test. The level of crude fiber significantly affect (P<0.05) on average feed intake, body weight, body weight gain, carcass weight and breast weight male duck. Keywords: Male ducks, Crude fiber, Carcas

Abstract

Organic waste materials such as flour market (TLOP) have the potential to be used as a substitute for rice bran in poultry rations. This study aims to determine the level of efficiency and effectiveness TLOP in the ration on production of laying ducks levels and quality of duck eggs. The experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design with four treatment and 38 replicates each. This type of treatment is replacement of rice bran in the ration with TLOP as: a) 0% (P-0), b) 10% (P-10), c) 20% (P-20) and 30% (P-30). Used 160 ducks consisting of 152 females ducks and 8 males were placed in 8 cages and each filled in 20 ducks were 19 females and 1 male ducks. Observations made during three months and the observed parameters are included the percentage of the daily egg production and egg quality. The results showed that the highest daily production of eggs contained in the treatment of P-30 (average 80.5%), but not significantly different (P>0.05) with P-0 (79.1%) and P-20 (77, 1%) but significantly different (P<0.05) with P-10 (75.2%). Observation of the quality of the eggs they did not look real difference, except in the quality Haught Unit (HU) and egg yolk color index. Haught Unit (HU) increase from 87 to 92, while egg yolk color index change from 14** to 14***. Concluded that TLOP can be used as a substitute for bran feed material up to 30% in the rations of laying ducks Keywords: Organic waste materials, Bran, laying Ducks, egg production, egg quality

Abstract

Isoprophylamine glyphosate, a common herbicide, is widely used as a sugarcane ripener to hasten maturation and to increase sugar yield in many countries. The ripener also alter the physiology of sugarcane that might consequently affect the development of the sugarcane shoot borer, Scirpophaga nivella intacta Snell (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae). This research studied the effect of isoprophylamine glyphosate on the intensity of S. nivella intacta attacks on several cultivars of sugarcane. Results of the experiment showed that varieties of sugarcanes responded differently after application of isoprophylamine glyphosate. The percentages of damaged nodes by S. nivella intacta were higher following the application of the ripener on GM 21 and RGM 97-10167 cultivars. Conversely, the damage nodes were lower on RGM 97-8752 and RGM 97-10120 at 20-30 days after the application of the ripener. Out of four tested cultivars, GM 21 was in general the most susceptible to the attacks of the sugarcane shoot borer. On the other side, there was an indication that cultivar RGM 97-10120 applied with isoprophylamine glyphosate had the lowest damage level by S. nivella intacta. The cultivar could be further investigated to study wether it has the potential as a better cultivar against S. nivella intacta when isoprophylamine glyphosate is applied as the cane ripener. Abstract

The aims of the research were to study utilization of cassava waste through biological processing on rumen parameters and nutrient digestibility. The treatments was based on first years research. The treatment was used latin squere design 4x4.. Young cattle was used as material of this research. The treatments were arranged: R0: basal rations + 30% cassava waste (no treatment); R1 basal rations + 30% fermented cassava waste ( fermented by Aspergillus oryzae and prekursor urea 3 %); R2 : basal rations +30% fermented cassava waste ( fermented by Aspergillus oryzae and prekursor ammonium sulfat 1 %); R3 : basal rations + 15% fermented cassava waste ( fermented by Aspergillus oryzae and prekursor urea 3 %) + 15% fermented cassava waste ( fermented by Aspergillus oryzae and prekursor ammonium sulfat 1 %). The result showed that the treatments had no effect on rumen parameters and nutrient digestibility (dry matters and organic matters) Keywords: cassava waste, rumen parameter

Abstract

Soybean production in the province West Sumatra from 1996 until 2009 does not seem stable from year to year and even a drastic decrease, reaching 76%. Soybean productivity is still low (range from 1.10 to 1.69 t/ha) compared to its potential and abroad that can reach 2.5 to 3 t/ha with a harvest area fluctuates very significantly. Meanwhile, the need for raw materials by the company's soybean processing tahu/tempe enough large, which is 241.05 tons per month, or 2,892.6 tons per year. This article contains about the problems of soybean and technological support for the development of soybean (low land and dry land) in West Sumatra. The methodology of writing a book study (literature) on soybean commodity that comes from books, proceedings, journals, papers and others. The result, soybean development strategy in the province of West Sumatra can be directed at three main agro-ecosystem, namely: irrigated land, rainfall land and dry land. However, in the lowland rice (43 817 ha of rainfall rice, 43,094 ha of lowland rice irrigated villages, 48,069 ha of lowland rice simple irrigated, and 67,457 ha of lowland rice irrigated semi-technical) and upland (gardens/ 329 528 ha, field for dry rice cultivation 132,240, and 595,516 ha of plantation) the greatest potential for development of soybean plants. Mechanical cultivation of soybean in lowland and dryland in almost the same. However, in some cases there are differences, especially the use of new varieties, land preparation, and delivery of lime /organic materials.Key words: soybean, technology, low land, dry land, West Sumatra.

Abstract

Kredit Ketahanan Pangan dan Energi (KKP-E) is a perfecting program credit form Kredit Ketahanan Pangan (KKP) whiich done in 2007, the purpose is to help farmer in farming capital. This research showed that the bigest used of KKP-E is in sugar cane farming, then in crop and livestock. Nevertheless, the distribution of the credit is blocked by smooting time to farmer, especially for horticulture KKP-E which will block season. Beside standarad condition which fund is distribution of credit come from banking (executing). Banking has 5 C (Collateral, Caracter, Capacity, Capitan and Condition), and gentioneraly the most difficult condition is colleteral. The spead of farmer as debitur has not achieved all around and only limited to farmer in area which is organised in farmer group organization. So that, it is suggested to have socialization activity together among agency and banking ti ditribute KKP-E to farmer/farmer group. Keywords: KKP ? E credit, performance
