Abstract

The phenomenon of toxic friendship among Bhayangkara University of Greater Jakarta students, which has a negative impact on mental, social, and academic health. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this study involved a psychoeducational intervention consisting of a pre-test, material delivery, and post-test to measure the effectiveness of the program. The psychoeducation included an understanding of the characteristics, impacts, and anticipation strategies of toxic friendship, emphasizing Ibn Miskawaih's principles of friendship ethics, such as choosing friends wisely, maintaining healthy boundaries, and prioritizing cooperation. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of toxic friendship and the importance of building healthy friendships. This study contributes to the toxic friendship literature and offers practical solutions through psychoeducation and the formation of support groups to create a positive friendship environment on campus.

Abstract

The phenomenon of toxic friendship among university students is a significant issue because of its impact on mental health, academic achievement, and individual social abilities. This study aims to identify forms of toxic friendship, provide education about healthy friendship relationships, and develop prevention strategies based on religiosity values. The methods used included psychoeducation and observation, which were applied to students of Bhayangkara University, Greater Jakarta. The intervention results showed an increase in participants' understanding of the impact of toxic friendship and the ability to manage interpersonal relationships in a healthier manner. The programme also emphasised the importance of integrating religiosity values as a foundation in establishing positive friendship relationships. This study recommends ongoing programmes such as communication skills training, support group formation, and psychological consultation services to address these challenges.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of psychology in Human Resource Management (HRM) within service companies using a literature review approach. The findings reveal that psychology contributes to various HRM functions, including recruitment and selection, employee training and development, work motivation, and the establishment of a supportive work environment. The application of psychological principles enables organizations to better understand employees’ characteristics and potential, which can improve job satisfaction, productivity, and service quality. Therefore, psychology serves as a key element in effective human resource management and supports the achievement of organizational goals.
