Abstract

The need for protein can be seen from the high demand for beef in Tanjungpinang City. However, beef production in Tanjungpinang City has not increased proportionally. As a result, Tanjungpinang City still has to rely on beef from outside the region because beef cattle cultivation has not yet reached an optimal level. This research aims to analyze the GAP for the technical implementation of beef cattle fattening business following the Standard Cultivation Guidelines (SPB) recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture through Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 46/Permentan/PK.210/8/2015 concerning Guidelines for Good Beef Cattle Cultivation. This research was conducted in Tanjungpinang City and involved breeders who were members of 15 livestock groups and 195 breeders. This research was conducted through a survey using purposive sampling. The population of this study consisted of breeders who had kept five or more cows in a pen and had been cultivating livestock for the last five years. Based on these criteria, the research sample consisted of 44 breeders. The results of the research are the technical implementation of beef cattle fattening cultivation in Tanjungpinang City based on the Standard Cultivation Guidelines (SPB) recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture through Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 46/Permentan/PK.210/8/2015 concerning Guidelines for Good Beef Cattle Cultivation. The research results show that environmental condition indicators have a GAP Analysis percentage of 57 percent, livestock seeds 33 percent, building conditions 56 percent, feed availability 51 percent, and livestock facilities and animal health 40 percent. The highest percentage of GAP Analysis is the condition of the building, while the lowest percentage is the selection of livestock seeds.

Abstract

The increasing demand for beef in Tanjungpinang is reflected in the market opportunity. However, local beef production does not meet market demand. Thus, beef supplies are expected from outside the region. This dependency results from the area's minimal development and efficiency of beef cattle farming. The potential in the livestock sector is not fully utilized, thus creating opportunities to increase regional production and reduce dependence on external supplies. This research was conducted to develop a priority strategy for beef cattle development in Tanjungpinang. This study was conducted in Tanjungpinang using quantitative analysis methods. Purposive sampling is used as a technique. The subjects in this study included a population of farmers who have consistently run beef cattle farming businesses for the past 5 years. Referring to the predetermined criteria, the sample in this study consisted of 44 farmers. SWOT and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods were used in data analysis. The priority strategies for developing the beef cattle fattening agribusiness in Tanjungpinang include establishing partnerships with the government and private sector, developing agricultural and livestock areas in potential subdistricts through modernization, implementing agribusiness livestock field schools and training on producing high-nutrient livestock feed, facilitating and socializing the KUR (Kredit Usaha Rakyat) program, increasing the beef cattle population, creating alternative feed from agricultural waste, introducing agricultural feed processing technologies, and superior cattle breeds tailored to local conditions, Improving the effectiveness of business management and optimizing the role and function of livestock groups and reapplying modern livestock practices from major production centers.

Abstract

Cocoa is a vital plantation commodity in Indonesia, but its productivity is hindered by suboptimal seedling quality. This study aimed to evaluate the vegetative growth response of cocoa seedlings to various combinations of nitrophenol compound concentrations and NPK fertilizer doses, and to identify the optimal treatment combination. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Pasir Pengaraian University, Riau, from June to October 2025, using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with a factorial arrangement. The first factor was the concentration of nitrophenol compounds (0, 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 ml/L), and the second factor was the NPK fertilizer dose (0, 5, and 10 g per polybag). The parameters measured included plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, root volume, and dry weight. Data were statistically analyzed using an F-test (ANOVA) at the 5% significance level with PKBT-STAT 3.2, followed by the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test at the 5% level. The results indicated a highly significant interaction (P < 0.01) between nitrophenol compounds and NPK fertilizer on all measured parameters. The combination of 4.5 ml/L nitrophenol compounds and 10 g/polybag NPK fertilizer produced the best results, with a plant height of 46.00 cm, 17 leaves, a stem diameter of 0.69 cm, a root volume of 6.50 ml, and a dry weight of 4.38 g. These findings demonstrate that increasing both the concentration of the nitrophenol compound and the fertilizer dose synergistically enhances the vigor and quality of cocoa seedlings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi Standar Pedoman Budidaya Sapi Potong (SPB) sebagaimana tercantum dalam Permentan No. 46/Permentan/PK.210/8/2015 di Desa Pasir Jaya, Kecamatan Rambah Hilir, Kabupaten Rokan Hulu. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan sensus terhadap seluruh peternak sapi potong. Analisis data dilakukan melalui teknik deskriptif dan GAP analysis terhadap lima aspek SPB: kondisi lingkungan, bibit ternak, kondisi bangunan, ketersediaan pakan, dan sarana kesehatan hewan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesesuaian implementasi SPB bervariasi, dengan nilai GAP tertinggi pada aspek kondisi bangunan (54%) dan terendah pada pemilihan bibit ternak (27%). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi SPB di Desa Pasir Jaya berada pada kategori “cukup sesuai” hingga “ragu-ragu”, yang memerlukan peningkatan melalui pelatihan dan dukungan teknis kepada peternak
