Abstract

Flowerhorn fish (Cichlasoma x Paraneetroplus x Amphilophus) are dangerous to the local ecosystem of Indonesian waters. It is feared that the existence of flowerhorn fish in local waters will become the dominant predator. Based on this study, it is reported that catches of flowerhorn fish in the Sempor Reservoir, Kebumen Regency, Central Java have the potential to become invasive predatory fish. The research method uses the desk study method and field observations by informants. The flowerhorn fish caught in the Sempor Reservoir is a record for efforts to protect the natural ecosystem of the reservoir from invasion by foreign predatory fish. The existence of flowerhorn fish in the Sempor Reservoir must be monitored, mapped and regulated with strict rules so that the balance of the Sempor Reservoir ecosystem is maintained from foreign predatory fish.

Abstract

Foreign fish, especially predatory fish in Indonesian public waters, are very dangerous for the local ecosystem, foreign predatory fish can become the main predators and can cause an imbalance in the ecosystem. From this study we report the catch of foreign predatory fish from the jaguar cichlid species (Parachromis managuensis) from Central American waters caught in Nyunyur Reservoir, Blitar Regency, East Java. The method in this study used a desk study and jaguar cichlid species identification method using morphological observations based on Kullander and Hartel (1997). This catch is a warning and an important note for the relevant agencies regarding the invasion of the jaguar cichlid species in the Nyunyur Reservoir as an initial step in monitoring aquatic ecosystems.

Abstract

Foreign predatory fish species in Indonesia have the potential to threaten the local ecosystem by becoming the main predators that disrupt the balance of the food chain in local waters. Through this research, we want to report the invasion of the species Parachromis managuensis, which originates from Central American waters. This fish species has been found in significant numbers and sizes in the waters of the Penjalin reservoir. In this study, a morphological approach was used to identify the Parachromis managuensis species. The capture of this species was recorded as the first step in efforts to monitor the reservoir water ecosystem in Brebes so that it remains balanced. Results and discussion, including a description of the morphology of the Parachromis managuensis species that have been caught, can be found in this research report.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the characteristic of each test item with NOS-based instruments which is analysed based on validity and reliability level using Rasch model (RM). A test using NOS-based instruments was used to collect the data. This research is categorized as descriptive with quantitative using statistic from RM through QUEST program. There are 104 students participated as the subject of this research. The result, which is based on validity of each test item using RM analysis, shows that 25 test items are considered fit or accepted. Based on the estimate of item reliability, NOS-based instrument has reliability coefficiency at 0.96. Based on difficulty items 2 test items declared not good, namely test item number 19 and item test number 4. Based on the analysis according to Classic Test Theory of RM, the NOS instrument can be used to measure senior high school students' science literacy on Newton Law.

Abstract

Calotes versicolor, or the oriental garden lizard, is a species of lizard native to South Asia and parts of mainland Southeast Asia. However, in recent decades, its distribution has expanded through human introductions to various archipelagic regions, including Indonesia. On the island of Java, C. versicolor is increasingly found in densely populated areas, agricultural areas, yards, and forest edges. This review article aims to examine the origins of C. versicolor in Java, potential introduction routes, factors for successful invasion, and its impact on local species and ecosystem structure. The method used is a desk study through a review of scientific literature from Google Scholar and online articles. The results of the study indicate that C. versicolor likely spread to Java through inter-island trade routes, agricultural transportation, and human movement routes from the colonial period to the modern era. This lizard's high habitat tolerance, effective reproduction, and opportunistic behavior make it a potential competitor to local lizards such as Bronchocela jubata, Eutropis multifasciata, and several native insect species. Ecological impacts include competition for space and food, predation on invertebrates and small vertebrates, and the potential spread of pathogens. This study emphasizes the importance of population monitoring and regional biosecurity policies to prevent the expansion of the impact of this invasive species in Java.
