Abstract

The spread of religious hoaxes on social media poses a serious challenge for Indonesian youth, whose digital literacy levels are still moderate. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve digital literacy, creative da'wah content production skills, and critical awareness among youth through community counseling. Held in Tegalsari Village, Banyuwangi, East Java (January-March 2026) with 27 participants aged 15-20, the activity used a community empowerment-based Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. Results showed an increase in the average digital literacy score from 52.4 to 78.9, with the highest increase in the information verification indicator (+35.8 points). Participants produced 54 digital da'wah content, 92.6% of which were deemed suitable for dissemination without revision. Ninety-six percent of participants stated that the activity was very beneficial, and 100% wanted the program to continue. These findings confirm that the integration of digital literacy, creative da'wah, and community counseling is effective in developing critical and responsible digital da'wah agents.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) was implemented to address the urgent needs of SMP Plus Darussalam Blokagung, Banyuwangi, which lacks a formal mechanism for preventing and handling bullying. This activity aims to establish a peer-supported Anti-Bullying Task Force through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach that emphasizes empowering and strengthening the capacity of students and teachers in detecting, reporting, and responding to bullying cases. Interventions provided included anti-bullying literacy training, conflict management workshops, role-playing simulations, assistance in developing reporting SOPs, task force formation, and a safe school campaign. Participants in the activity consisted of 50 students and 10 supervising teachers. Program evaluation was conducted through observation, short interviews, FGDs, pre-post questionnaires, and activity documentation. The implementation results showed an increase in student knowledge and awareness regarding forms of bullying as well as empathetic communication skills. Students demonstrated greater courage in reporting, and the task force began carrying out initial mediation functions in several minor cases. In addition to increasing individual capacity, the school acquired a new institutional structure in the form of an Anti-Bullying Task Force and a participatory reporting SOP. These findings indicate that the PAR approach is effective in strengthening the school community's ability to create a safe and supportive learning environment. The program also demonstrates potential for sustainability through the integration of task force activities into the school's agenda, as well as opportunities for replication in other schools with similar needs.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of increasing Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) in the digital era that encourages self-obsession and narcissistic behavior, while secular Western therapeutic approaches have not fully aligned with the spiritual values of the Muslim community. The main objective of this research is to develop an Islamic counseling model based on akhlaq karimah (good character) in transforming NPD through the tazkiyah al-nafs approach. The method used is a qualitative research with an instrumental case study design, with participants being six students and alumni of the Darussalam Blokagung Islamic Boarding School aged 18-35 years who have NPD characteristics based on the NPI-16. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, participant observation for 3-4 months, and document analysis, then analyzed using thematic analysis with an inductive-deductive approach. The results of the study show four main themes of transformation: decreasing narcissistic characteristics through spiritual awareness, increasing akhlaq karimah (good character), the strategic role of Islamic boarding school spiritual guidance, and the dynamics of the tazkiyah al-nafs process which includes the stages of takhalli, tahalli, muhasabah, and tajalli. These findings indicate that Islamic counseling based on noble character is effective in systematically and sustainably transforming egocentric orientations toward theocentric ones. Based on these results, this study concludes that the Islamic counseling model using the tazkiyah al-nafs framework is capable of producing deeper and more meaningful personality transformation than conventional approaches. The implications of this research are expected to provide an alternative, culturally appropriate therapeutic approach for the Muslim community and enrich the development of an evidence-based, contemporary Islamic psychological framework.

Abstract

Santri may experience psychological distress but delay or avoid formal help. This integrative review develops a contextual model explaining how mental health literacy, stigma, and caregiver support shape help-seeking in Indonesian Islamic boarding schools. Thirty core publications published mainly between 2016 and 2026 were purposively synthesized through thematic comparison and mechanism mapping. The review shows that literacy improves problem recognition and knowledge of services, but knowledge alone does not ensure action. Public and self-stigma interrupt the translation of recognition into help-seeking, particularly when distress is interpreted as personal or religious weakness. Caregiver support provides legitimacy, confidentiality, emotional safety, access, and referral, thereby reducing stigma and strengthening the conversion of literacy into action. These findings generate the LSP-Santri Model, which positions caregiver support as a contextual bridge and buffering mechanism. The model offers a basis for future empirical testing and for designing pesantren-based, Islamic-integrated, tiered mental health services.
