Abstract

Strengthening religious moderation has become an urgent necessity to prevent conflicts arising from radicalism and intolerance, particularly in non-formal religious education institutions such as Qur’anic Education Centers (TPQ). This community service program aims to enhance the understanding of religious moderation among Qur’an teachers who are members of the Qur’anic Education Communication Forum (FKPQ) in Bandar Lampung City, Indonesia, as an effort to instill moderation values in students from an early age. The study employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach using Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and questionnaires as the primary instruments. A total of 30 TPQ teachers participated in the program through three stages: preliminary assessment (pre-test), mentoring and training sessions covering religious moderation, radicalism, intolerance, and implementation strategies, followed by evaluation (post-test). The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, with the average score increasing from 53 in the pre-test to 95 in the post-test. These findings indicate that the religious moderation assistance program effectively strengthened teachers’ understanding, which was subsequently transferred to students to support the development of a moderate Qur’anic learner generation. This program contributes by offering an applicable PAR-based model for strengthening religious moderation in non-formal Qur’anic education settings and may serve as a reference for policymakers and educational institutions in designing systematic and sustainable grassroots-level religious moderation programs.

Abstract

This article examines family conflicts and their resolution based on the local wisdom of Lampung customs, including Pepadun and Saibatin. Because every household is always faced with conflicts, whether mild, moderate or severe, which can lead to household breakdown and social harmonization. Communities that still apply customary values in conflict resolution include Tanggamus and Way Kanan districts. The method used is qualitative, the type of research includes field research conducted in the indigenous Lampung Saibatin community in Tanggamus and Pepadun in Way Kanan. The approach used is ethnography and mubādalah approach. Primary data sources were obtained from Lampung traditional leaders in the two regions. This research found that conflict resolution is based on local wisdom by upholding the philosophy of life piil pesenggiri which priorities deliberation mechanisms, extended family support and conflict resolution offers. Lampung traditional local wisdom is in line with the principle of mubādalah because it provides guidance for family members in carrying out their roles by cooperating with each other, respecting each other and sharing roles for the welfare of the family that contributes to household harmony and divorce prevention.

Abstract

The 20.67% decline in the number of marriages in Indonesia between 2018 and 2024 indicates a shift in views among Gen-Z. This study aims to analyze the influence of a self-improvement lifestyle on interest in marriage among Gen-Z and evaluate this phenomenon from the perspective of Islamic Family Law. The research method used was qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Information was obtained through interviews and questionnaires distributed to students at Raden Intan State Islamic University, Lampung. The research findings indicate that a self-improvement lifestyle has a significant impact on Gen-Z's interest in marriage, with most respondents choosing to focus on careers, education, and financial independence. The main factors influencing this reduced interest are concerns about limited personal freedom, obstacles to self-actualization, and the desire to achieve emotional maturity before marriage. From the perspective of Islamic Family Law, this phenomenon of delayed marriage is considered a precautionary measure to prepare physically and mentally. Islam does not require marriage to be carried out hastily if it is feared that the goals of a marriage that is sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah will not be achieved. This study found that for Gen-Z, self-development is not just a trend, but a foundation that is considered important to prepare before starting family life in the modern era.
