Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed guidance and counseling services, opening broader access beyond traditional face-to-face interactions and creating new opportunities for social inclusion, especially for marginalized individuals facing geographic, economic, or social barriers. This study aimed to explore how digital technology can expand access to counseling services, reduce social stigma, and enhance service effectiveness through personalization, while identifying key challenges related to data privacy and security. A qualitative case study approach was employed using purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with digital counseling users, service providers, and mental health technology experts, as well as Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings revealed that digital technology improved accessibility by enabling virtual counseling sessions, reduced social stigma by allowing anonymous service access, and enhanced service personalization through data-driven algorithms. However, concerns regarding personal data protection emerged as the primary challenge. These findings imply that with robust security systems and clear regulatory frameworks, digital technology holds significant potential to create more inclusive, effective, and equitable guidance and counseling services for diverse populations.

Abstract

This study aims to reformulate Islamic boarding school education management through the integration of Islamic counseling services in responding to the challenges of globalization. Pesantren, as one of Indonesia's oldest educational institutions, is currently facing rapid social and cultural transformations driven by digitalization, global mobility, and moral disruption. To address these challenges, a mixed-method multi-phase design was employed. In the first phase, qualitative exploration through interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis was conducted to map the needs and obstacles in managing counseling services. The second phase utilized the Delphi technique involving experts in Islamic counseling, education management, and Islamic boarding school leadership to construct and validate a comprehensive management model. The third phase implemented a quasi-experimental design with pretest–posttest control groups to test the effectiveness of the model in enhancing resilience, global competence, and ethical digital behavior among santri. The results show that the reformulated management model successfully improves the role of Islamic counseling services in Islamic boarding schools by integrating policy planning, organizational structure, service delivery, and monitoring evaluation mechanisms. This model is proven effective in strengthening santri's resilience and digital ethics while reducing cases of bullying and maladaptive behavior. The study concludes that Islamic boarding school management needs to institutionalize Islamic counseling as a strategic component to ensure the sustainability of character education and competitiveness of Islamic boarding school graduates in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Teacher burnout has become a critical issue in contemporary educational systems, particularly within Islamic boarding schools (Islamic boarding schools ) where teachers hold multidimensional responsibilities as educators, spiritual mentors, and social role models. However, studies on teacher burnout in Islamic boarding school contexts remain limited, especially those integrating Islamic counseling and workplace spirituality perspectives. This study aims to analyze the conditions and determinants of teacher burnout in Islamic boarding schools and to develop an Islamic counseling-based early detection model for teacher burnout prevention. This research employed a Sequential Exploratory Mixed Method design. The qualitative phase involved in-depth interviews, observations, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with pesantren teachers, school leaders, Islamic counselors, and senior students to explore burnout symptoms, causal factors, and teacher wellbeing needs. The quantitative phase involved 126 Islamic boarding school teachers and utilized burnout scales, spiritual wellbeing scales, and workplace spirituality scales to validate indicators and examine the effectiveness of the proposed system. The findings revealed that emotional exhaustion, spiritual stress, administrative workload, and organizational pressure were the dominant factors contributing to teacher burnout in Islamic boarding school environments. More than half of the participants experienced moderate to high levels of burnout, particularly in the dimensions of emotional exhaustion and workplace stress. The study also found that workplace spirituality contributed positively to teachers' psychological resilience;

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of measuring the performance of Islamic Commercial Banks (BUS) which is not only oriented towards profitability, but also on the implementation of the principles of Maqashid al-Syariah and good sharia governance. The study aims to analyze the effect of Maqashid Sharia-Based Performance (MSI) and Sharia Governance Index (SGI) on the financial performance of BUS in Indonesia for the period 2019–2024. The study uses a quantitative approach with a panel data Fixed Effects method on 8 BUS with a total of 48 bank-year observations. The analysis was conducted using Driscoll-Kraay robust standard errors to address heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation. The results show that MSI, SGI, and the MSI×SGI interaction have a positive and significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA). In addition, ESG Score, bank size, and CAR have a positive effect, while NPF and BOPO have a negative effect on ROA. These findings indicate that the integration of Maqashid Sharia principles and strong sharia governance can improve the profitability and sustainability of BUS. This research provides practical implications for regulators and management of Islamic banks in developing a more comprehensive sharia-based performance evaluation system.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Islamic Banking Digitalization (IBD) on Financial Inclusion (FIN) and Customer Loyalty (LOY) among Muslim bank customers in West Java, with Customer Trust (TRUST) as a mediating variable. Employing a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach on 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling, results reveal that IBD (? = 0.312; p < 0.001), FIN (? = 0.278; p < 0.001), and their interaction IBD×FIN (? = 0.187; p = 0.003) positively and significantly affect customer loyalty. TRUST exerts the strongest direct effect on LOY (? = 0.423; p < 0.001) and partially mediates both IBD ? LOY and FIN ? LOY pathways (indirect ? = 0.167 and 0.144; p < 0.001). The model explains 68.47% variance in loyalty (R² = 0.6847). Findings underscore that Sharia-compliant digital banking services, integrated with financial inclusion strategies, are critical drivers of Muslim customer loyalty when underpinned by institutional trust and Islamic financial literacy.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Inflation and economic instability remain major concerns in developing economies, including Indonesia. Inflation reduces purchasing power, increases production costs, affects household welfare, and creates uncertainty for financial institutions.. Indonesia’s Islamic banking sector has grown significantly, with assets exceeding IDR 800 trillion and a market share of approximately 7.5% of total national banking assets as of 2023, underscoring its increasing relevance as a stabilizing financial force in an inflation-prone economy.Objective: This study aims to examine inflation and economic stability from the perspective of sharia banking and to identify relevant policy implications for strengthening financial resilience in Indonesia.Methods: This study uses a qualitative literature review approach by synthesizing previous studies related to inflation, Islamic finance, monetary policy, sharia banking, digital finance, MSMEs, and macroeconomic uncertainty.Results: The findings show that inflation weakens purchasing power, increases business uncertainty, and affects financial performance. Sharia banking can contribute to economic stability through third-party fund mobilization, productive financing, ethical financial governance, and support for MSMEs. Eight thematic clusters were identified: inflation and welfare, banking performance risk, sharia banking and economic growth, MSME resilience, exchange rate dynamics, monetary policy coordination, digital financial transformation, and the Islamic finance ecosystem.Conclusion: Sharia banking can serve as a complementary pillar in Indonesia’s economic stability framework. Policy integration between monetary authorities, Islamic financial institutions, and real-sector development is needed to reduce inflationary pressure and strengthen inclusive economic resilience. This study contributes an integrative policy-relevant framework positioning sharia banking as an institutional actor in inflation mitigation and inclusive financial development in Indonesia.
