Abstract

Vocational education in Indonesia has transformed the implementation of budgetary autonomy in vocational high schools (SMKs), requiring principals to manage resources strategically and accountably. However, most studies emphasise administrative compliance with funding regulations, and few synthesize principals' innovation within the School Autonomy and Accountability (SABER) framework. This study analyses principals' innovation strategies in managing SMK budgetary autonomy via a narrative literature review. Twelve articles (2022–2025) were thematically synthesized. Findings show three dominant innovation patterns: revenue diversification through internal business units such as BLUD and teaching factories; financing efficiency via strategic industry partnerships; and strengthened accountability through digital internal control systems. These innovations suggest that effective budgetary autonomy depends less on funding magnitude and more on principals' entrepreneurial leadership capacity to balance autonomy with strict accountability. The study contributes a conceptual synthesis of SABER in vocational contexts and recommends capacity-building for principals and adaptive regulatory measures to support innovation, particularly in remote and resource-constrained settings, for wider validation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how high school pupils are currently learning Japanese. to assess students' speaking skills in the high school Japanese language learning process by using the shadowing method, which is facilitated by the Educaplay platform. In an attempt to enhance students' Japanese speaking skills, this study starts with the crucial role that educators play in putting the Educaplay platform-based shadowing approach into practice. This study employed a descriptive qualitative methodology. Data collection was undertaken through semi-structured interviews with eleven Japanese language teachers recruited using a purposive sampling technique. Thematic analysis was then used to examine the interview data in order to find recurring themes and important concepts in the participants' answers. According to the study's findings, the majority of teachers thought that using the shadowing technique, which is backed by Educaplay, will help students become more proficient speakers of Japanese.  Eleven Japanese language instructors completed a questionnaire, and the results indicated that the shadowing approach is essential for improving students' speaking abilities. The findings of this study suggest that using Educaplay in conjunction with the shadowing method could be a useful strategy for enhancing students' speaking abilities when studying Japanese. The findings of this study suggest that using Educaplay in conjunction with the shadowing method could be a useful strategy for enhancing students' speaking abilities when studying Japanese. In order to maximize the use of Educaplay, it is crucial to choose learning strategies and media that are in line with the curriculum, for teachers to play a role in their selection and execution that is in line with the needs of the students, and for schools to have institutional support.
