Abstract

In implementing mobile learning system, students’ needs and perceptions should be focused upon along with curriculum standards. Particularly in the context of higher education institutions in Indonesia, some schools authorities have refused to implement m-learning. Although m-learning is widely used in some schools and considered an effective educational tool, it is not yet fully utilised in most Indonesian schools. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate students’ access to and perception of the use of mobile devices in learning, and to understand the potential for its implementation. This study is the result of a survey conducted on 61 students in a school which banned the use of mobile technology. It seeks to understand their potential accessibility by means of ownership, interaction time and the types of mobile application used and to find their perceptions through agreement and the reasons for adopting mobile learning in the classroom. The findings indicate that students are very familiar with mobile devices and their applications. The results also reveal that students have positive perceptions toward m-learning, and indicate that mobile technologies are widely used among them. This report can be taken as the basis for applying a mobile learning system in the classroom.

This research is classified as a quasi-experimental design which is used pre and posttest control group design. The sample of this research was eight B grade students as experimental class and eight grade A students as a control class. This research took place at junior High School (SMP) Negeri 2 Gondang, Bojonegoro, East java. This research applied random sampling technique. The sum of subject of the research was about 56 students which consist of 28 students from control class and 28 students from experimental class. The result of the research shows that there is difference in implementation of two different learning models. The implementation of contextual teaching and learning model is better than tutor model. It can be proved from the mean score of posttest in experimental class. It was 75.89 while in control class was about 71.96. It can be said that there was significant difference about 3.93. It can be concluded that contextual teaching and learning (CLT) model can improve students’ ability in doing social arithmetic better than tutor model. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of weight training using circuit methods on aerobic fitness, body fat percentage, muscle mass percentage, and hand grip strength. This study is a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study with a sample of the elderly gymnastics group Sehat Bugar Ceria in Karanganyar Regency, Indonesia. Twenty-seven study subjects aged 60–75 participated in the exercise for 12 meetings. All research subjects can take all pretests and posttests in the form of a six-minute walk test, a hand grip strength test using a handgrip dynamometer, and body composition testing using bioelectrical impedance analysis. Changes that occurred before and after exercise were analyzed using paired t-tests. This study showed that aerobic fitness increased significantly (p = 0.001), body fat percentage decreased significantly (p = 0.008), but there was no significant change in the percentage of muscle mass (p 0.05) or hand grip strength (p 0.05). The results of this study showed that weight training using circuit methods can improve aerobic fitness and reduce body fat percentage in the elderly group.

Abstract

Historical awareness related to Indonesia is mandatory for all Indonesians, namely awareness that we started from the same historical journey of the nation. This research aims to develop the 'CABASA' application as Sragen cultural heritage-based historical learning media is capable of displaying descriptions, as well as photos of cultural heritage. This Development uses three main steps adopted by Borg and Gall: the preliminary stage, the planning stage, and the testing stage. The trial results of the 'CABASA' product developed are suitable for use in the history learning process. The conclusion is the development method adopted in this research is simplified into three main steps. Preliminary development studies and the final stage are product trials. With the product trial results being very feasible, it can be concluded that 'CABASA' can be used as an interactive learning media based on cultural heritage in the Sragen district, which is following current developments where this learning media is straightforward to use.
