Abstract

In implementing mobile learning system, students’ needs and perceptions should be focused upon along with curriculum standards. Particularly in the context of higher education institutions in Indonesia, some schools authorities have refused to implement m-learning. Although m-learning is widely used in some schools and considered an effective educational tool, it is not yet fully utilised in most Indonesian schools. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate students’ access to and perception of the use of mobile devices in learning, and to understand the potential for its implementation. This study is the result of a survey conducted on 61 students in a school which banned the use of mobile technology. It seeks to understand their potential accessibility by means of ownership, interaction time and the types of mobile application used and to find their perceptions through agreement and the reasons for adopting mobile learning in the classroom. The findings indicate that students are very familiar with mobile devices and their applications. The results also reveal that students have positive perceptions toward m-learning, and indicate that mobile technologies are widely used among them. This report can be taken as the basis for applying a mobile learning system in the classroom.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and investigate the difference of students’ ability in doing social arithmetic and the implementation of contextual teaching and learning model in experimental class and students’ ability in doing social arithmetic that taught by applying tutor method in control class. This research is classified as a quasi-experimental design which is used pre and posttest control group design. The sample of this research was eight B grade students as experimental class and eight grade A students as a control class. This research took place at junior High School (SMP) Negeri 2 Gondang, Bojonegoro, East java. This research applied random sampling technique. The sum of subject of the research was about 56 students which consist of 28 students from control class and 28 students from experimental class. The result of the research shows that there is difference in implementation of two different learning models. The implementation of contextual teaching and learning model is better than tutor model. It can be proved from the mean score of posttest in experimental class. It was 75.89 while in control class was about 71.96. It can be said that there was significant difference about 3.93. It can be concluded that contextual teaching and learning (CLT) model can improve students’ ability in doing social arithmetic better than tutor model. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan siswa menyelesaikan soal aritmatika sosial dari implementasi model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learningdi kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kemampuan siswa menyelesaikan soal aritmatika sosial dengan model pembelajaran ceramah di kelas kontrol. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pre tes posttes control group design. Sample yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 2 Gondang Bojonegoro Jawa Timur kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol yang ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 56 siswa di kelas eksperimen 28 siswa di kelas kontrol sebanyak 28 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih baik dari model pembelajaran ceramah yang selama ini digunakan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata post tes di kelas eksperimen adalah 75,89 dikelas kontrol nilai post tes adalah 71,96 sehingga didapat perbedaan sebesar 3,93. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan aritmatika sosial lebih baik daripada model pembelajaran ceramah.

Abstract

This study aims to produce media in the form of parenting modules for parents of children with mental retardation that suitable to be used by the parents. Some things that are important in this study include increasing the knowledge and understanding of parents of children with mental retardation so that they can care for the children according to their abilities. In addition, they can develop optimally, and solve problems faced by parents of children with mental retardation. It provides solutions toward the parents’ problems so that children with mental retardation can grow and develop properly. This study uses Research and Development (R&D) based on Borg and Gall. The conducted stages include research and data collection, planning, product draft development, product testing, and revision of product trial results. This product was tested on 21 parents of children with mental retardation. The feasibility of the product is based on the evaluation results of material experts, media experts, and parents of students as test subjects. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis at the problem identification stage used descriptive analysis. While the data analysis technique used on product quality is quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that the parenting module media for parents of children with mental retardation was developed through a series of trials, and expert validation was declared feasible.

Abstract

Sensitivity is an ability to understanding an individual which is implemented into knowledge, attitude, and behavior. This study is aimed to know the level of regular students’ sensitivity at the inclusive education in the level education of Junior High School and Senior High School. The subjects of this research are the students of Junior High School and Senior High School, each of them is 45 students. The technique of collecting the data uses questionnaire. The technique of analyzing the data uses the normality test, homogeneity test, and independent t-test. The result of this research shows that the distribution of the data is normal, homogeny and the average of sensitivity value’s regular students at the level of Junior High Schoo is 127.98, while the average of sensitivity value’s regular students at the level of Senior High School is 133.89. Based on the result, it can be concluded that regular students’ sensitivity toward the children with special needs at the Senior High School is higher than Junior High School.

Abstract

One of the goals of science education in Indonesia is to produce quality students, namely people who are able to think critically, creatively, logically and take initiative, in responding to issues that develop in society. Students' critical thinking skills can be improved through the learning model used, so this study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry models in improving critical thinking skills. This research is qualitative research. The subject of this research is high school students. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation, and tests. The validity of the data used is data triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the use of guided inquiry models in physics can improve the critical thinking skills of high school students

Abstract

The teacher's role is only as a facilitator, mediator and guide. Because the approach used is student-centered, the teacher only assists the change process with scaffolding and guiding so students can achieve a more perfect understanding than previous understanding. The Cooperative Learning model is one of the learning models that emphasizes the active role of students in learning. Among the cooperative learning models are the type of NHT and Make A Match. This research is an experimental research, 2x3 factorial design. The Population of this research is all of vocational school students in Sub Rayon 1 of Ngawi Regency in Odd Semesterof Academic Year 2013/2014. Research is done by providing the same learning materials for experimentation and control classes. Experimental Classes with the NHT Cooperative Model Approach while the control classes used the Make A Match Cooperative Model Approach. The results are (1) there is a difference in effect between the use of the NHT (Numbered Head Together) type of cooperative learning model and Make a Match on student achievement. (2). There are differences in the learning achievements of students who have high, moderate and low emotional intelligence on computer system subjects. (3). There is an interaction of influencebetween the use of NHT cooperative learning models and Make a Match with the level of emotional intelligence of students on student achievement in Computer System subjects in terms of students' emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Advances in technology have driven changes in books into the digital age. Even the Indonesian government, in this case, the Ministry of Education and Culture has implemented it in the form of school electronic books or commonly called BSE. However, ebooks or BSE in schools today, still have weaknesses that should be improved. One of them through e-books in the flipbook format. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of flipbook science media in science learning in elementary schools. This research is a qualitative descriptive study conducted in class V SDN Cemara Dua Surakarta, SDN Mangkubumen Lor No.15 Surakata, and SDN Mangkubumen Kidul No.16 Surakarta in 2016/2017 school year. Data collection techniques are carried out using triangulation of data or sources through observation, interviews, and documentary studies. Data analysis starts from the stage of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the use of flipbook science media in science learning in elementary schools can be used optimally if the elementary school has supporting facilities or facilities, such as PCs, LCDs, and sound systems as well as good teacher and student resources in the field of technology. basic computer operating skills. In addition, the use of flipbook media must be used in accordance with the learning objectives to be achieved, so that the effectiveness of the use of flipbook media can be felt optimally

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the needs of students to the application of CD tutotial as learning media at the course based on practice, its developing and the students’ responds towards the media used in the instructional process.  The program of Educational Technology is famous of its students who have a high capability in multimedia field of study as some of the courses relate to technology-based learning. Unfortunatelly, there are some obstacles coming up as the practice-based course has less optimum on its real class. It makes the researcher trying to develop an application of learning media in term of CD Tutorial to be applied at the class by the practice-based course. This research uses ADDIE developing model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The result of this research and development will be in term of media product which is later on will be done some evaluation tests from the expert teams, and at last filed test to know its effectiveness of its media on the instructional process.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out (1) the difference of effect between the NHT, TGT, and Directive learning (DL) models on the mathematics learning achievement. (2) the difference of learning achievement on mathematics between boys and. (3) the interaction of effect between learning model and gender on  mathematics learning achievement. This kind of research is a quantitative one which uses an experimental factorial design. The population of this research are all the 7th grade - 1st semester students of SMP 1 Sidoharjo, Sragen on the Academic Year Of 2015/2016. The sample is determined by taking 3 clsasses at random. The sampling technique uses the Cluster Random Sampling. The experimental group was treated by the NHT and TGT learning models. While the control group was subjected to the directive learning. For the teaching material is used the Algebraic design. The hypothesis testing uses the factorial design 3x2 with Two-Ways Analysis of Variance (Two Ways Anava) technique with different cells. Before, the trial test was conducted. Forth, for the balance testing was used the t-testing. For the reliability testing of the research instrument with internal consistency was used the Kuder Richardson (KR-20) formula, normality test used the lilliefors method, and the homogenity test used the Bartlet method. The result of the data analysis with significance level of 0.05 obtained: (1) FA = 3.641 and Ftable = 3.07, it mean FA > Ftable. The conclusion of HOA test was rejected and H1A was accepted, which means that there is a significant difference between the learning models to the mathematics achievement. (2) FB = 15.197 and Ftable = 3.92, it obtained FB > Ftable. HOB test was rejected and H1B was accepted. It means that there is a significant difference between boys and girls to the mathematics achievement. (3) FAB = 4.353, Ftable = 3.07, obtained FAB > Ftable. HOAB was rejected and H1AB was accepted, it means that there is a significant interaction of effect between gender and learning models to the mathematics achievement at the subject of Algebraic design.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out:how the needs of learning media for social studies class V in SD Muhammadiyah ProgramUnggulan Colomadu Karanganyar, How is the development of multimedia interactive learning in social studies class V in SD Muhammadiyah ProgramUnggulanColomadu Karanganyar, Effective development of multimedia interactive teaching in subjects IPS class V in SD Muhammadiyah ProgramUnggulanColomadu Karanganyar. The method used method of Research and Development (research and development), but more focused on process development using ADDIE. Stages of development in this study begins with (1) analyzing the needs needed in developing the Product, (2) designing prototypical product, (3) developing the product, (4) implementing the product in the field, and (5) evaluating product’s weaknesses. In addition, this study used totally 56 samples. 28 samples in experimental group (five graders in A class) and 28 samples in control group (five graders in B class). Furthermore, in collecting the data, the researcher used questionnaire and achievement test as the instruments and it was analyzed using Descriptive statistic methods and t-test. The results showed that the media developed has met the worthy and qualified to be used as a learning media. It is seen from the results of expert validation of material with an average of 4.4 and has very good category. Validation of experts media with an average of 4.91 is very good category. According to the students, this multimedia is very good with an average of 4, 60. In the test the learning effectiveness, it is known to the average point obtained by the experimental class is 88.39.  The average point was higher than the control class 73.86.
